AN APPARATUS FOR WORKING OPPOSITE ARRANGED SURFACES
20210316373 · 2021-10-14 ·

The present invention provides an apparatus for working oppositely arranged first and second surfaces of a pressing section. The apparatus comprises an upper working unit forming a top wall and an upper sidewall extending downwardly from the top wall; a lower working unit forming a bottom wall and a lower sidewall extending upwardly from the bottom wall; and an inflatable bellows movable between an inflated state and a deflated state by inflation with an inflation medium. The upper sidewall is arranged to guide the lower sidewall to thereby form an internal space enclosed by the top wall, the bottom wall, the upper sidewall, and the lower sidewall. The inflatable bellows is arranged in the internal space to facilitate variation of the distance between the top wall and the bottom wall during relative movement between the upper sidewall and lower sidewall by inflation of the inflatable bellows.

A sanding block. The sanding block includes a first member and a second member forming a planar body. The first member and second member have opposing angled edges and are connected via a tongue and groove joint along the opposing angled edges. A continuous channel is disposed through the first and second members. A barrel nut is disposed and can revolve in the channel of the first member. A screw is rotatably disposed through an exterior edge of the second member, wherein a shaft of the screw passes through the channel and is threaded through the barrel nut. A user can rotate the screw which causes the planar body to expand and contract. As the planar body expands and contracts, the barrel nut revolves allowing the shaft of the screw to pivot. A belt of sand paper can be secured to the sanding block via expansion of the planar body.

Gas turbine engine slot tools

A tool for a slot in a gas turbine engine, according to an example of the present disclosure, includes a head configured to be received in the slot, a first pad removably bonded to the head with an adhesive, and a second pad removably bonded to the head with an adhesive and disposed opposite from the first pad.

SANDING APPARATUS WITH MULTIPLE PART ENGAGEMENT MEMBERS

A method of removing material from a surface of an ultrasound directing element comprising a plastic material is provided. The method includes mounting the ultrasound directing element to a mounting block of a sanding apparatus. The mounting block includes an engagement member that moves from a release position to an engagement position thereby engaging the ultrasound directing element. The mounting block is moved along a base of the sanding apparatus bringing a surface of the ultrasound directing element into contact with a sanding surface. Material is removed from the surface of the ultrasound directing element using the sanding surface.
