Sanding devices disclosed herein include a rigid member, a flexible member permanently coupled with a bottom of the rigid member and with a portion of a top of the rigid member, and a sanding member permanently coupled with the flexible member. In implementations the sanding member consists of sandpaper. The flexible member may be shaped substantially similar to, or identical to, the sanding member in at least two dimensions. A front of the rigid member may have a rounded end and the rigid member may be tapered and larger in front than in back. The flexible member may form a pair of upper wings extending outward past sides of the rigid member at the top of the rigid member, a pair of lower wings extending outward past sides of the rigid member at the bottom of the rigid member, and a tail extending past the back of the rigid member.

A conformable sanding block with a longitudinal axis has a locking end cap, a sliding end cap and a series of indexable segments therebetween. A flexible position rod is fastened to both end caps and passes through and captures each indexable segments forming the ergonomically conformable sanding block that is settable between concave and convex shapes for sanding contoured shapes. The sanding block has a bottom whereat a sandpaper holder is releasably and slidably attached for releaseably fastening sandpaper thereto.

A cleaning apparatus, including a body; a tip connected to a first end of the body, the tip including a support extending in a direction away from the body; a polishing member including a first surface including a polishing surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface; and a fixer to adhere and fix the polishing member to the support so that the polishing surface is brought in contact with a cleaning target surface.

The present invention discloses a novel hand-held independent sanding tool designed especially for cylindrical objects. The sanding tool has sandpaper on at least one side for removing material from a workpiece. The sanding plate is attached to a handle that is preferably ergonomically designed for ease of use. The proposed assembly requires less input, provides better output and is economical, and provides ease of use to the user.

A sanding block with a base block, an end block, and a locking shaft. The base block has a cavity extending into the base block and a locking shaft aperture extending through the base block. The end block is slidably coupled with the cavity. The locking shaft extends through the locking shaft aperture and has at least one notch that engages with at least one ridge on the end block. The end block is slidable within the cavity between a retracted position and an extended position. When the end block is in the retracted position, the at least one notch is empty and the locking shaft is moveable along the locking shaft aperture. When the end block is in the extended position, each of the at least one ridge is within the at least one notch and the locking shaft is restricted in movement along the locking shaft aperture.

A media-bearing polisher and restorer removes surface and subsurface contaminants from one or more vehicle surfaces. In one or more embodiments, the media-bearing polisher and restorer comprises a body having a hemispherical shape. The body comprises a resilient or rigid material and one or more flutes for receiving one or more user fingers. One or more mediums, which absorbs and extracts contaminants from the surface, are attached to a bottom of the hemispherical body. A variety of media may be used with the media-bearing polisher and restorer.

A sanding block adapted for abrading a surface, particularly drywall joints, comprising: (a) a body having an array of elongated raised portions having raised end surfaces and recessed portions, the raised end surfaces collectively defining an abrasive working surface and the recessed portions defining channels between adjacent raised portions; (b) a make coat on the end surfaces; and (c) abrasive particles at least partially embedded in the make coat. Also methods of using such sanding blocks.

A sanding device, for, e.g., cosmetic and finishing applications, is provided. The sanding device includes a wire mesh having a plurality of apexes, the apexes having an abrasive affixed thereto. The wire mesh forms a substantially planar surface with a bent perimeter section. The sanding device further includes a rim made from a plastic material, the plastic material capping the bent perimeter section of the wire mesh and further extending from the bent perimeter section. The wire mesh and the rim defining a shallow bowl shape. The sanding devices also includes a carrier shell or grip received and captured with the bowl shape.

Example implementations relate to a sanding tool having an intermediate adapter pad. The sanding tool includes a rigid base plate configured for releasable attachment to a number of sanding handles. The sanding tool also includes an adapter pad that comprises: an upper portion configured to receive the rigid base plate, the upper portion including a perimeter portion that extends above an upper surface of the rigid base plate; and a lower surface configured for releasable attachment to a lower pad, wherein a lower surface of the lower pad is configured for releasable attachment to a working material. The perimeter portion includes a channel configured for releasable attachment to a suction ring, or a bristle ring, or both.
