Systems for drying sheets of donor-provided human tissue
10842910 · 2020-11-24 ·

Embodiments of this technology may include an apparatus for drying tissue. The apparatus may include human donor tissue placed in contact with and between at least two layers of backing material. This tissue and backing layer may then be restrained by two plates. This tissue may be amniotic tissue. The backing layer may include woven or nonwoven material. This backing layer may be wetted with a saline solution. At least one of the plates of the tissue drying apparatus may be perforated. The tissue assembly along with the plates may then be placed inside a chamber configured to receive the plates and tissue assembly. The chamber may be configured so that gas can be forced into the chamber with the gas flow going around the plates and the tissue assembly.

FILMS AND COMPOSITES AND METHODS OF PRODUCTION AND USE
20200354562 · 2020-11-12 ·

The present invention includes compositions and methods of making films, adhesive patches, or composites comprising a polyvinyl caprolactam-polyvinyl acetate-polyethylene glycol graft copolymer (PCL-PVAc-PEG) and a partially hydrophilic oil, wherein the composition transitions from a viscous liquid, to an adhesive, and to a film as a weight percent (wt %) ratio of PCL-PVAc-PEG to partially hydrophilic oil changes.

COLLAGEN-FIBRIN COMPOSITION, METHOD AND WOUND ARTICLES
20200353122 · 2020-11-12 ·

A method is described. The method includes mixing fibrin and collagen to form a mixture including collagen and fibrin; and reducing the salt concentration below the threshold concentration to form a fibrin. A collagen-fibrin composition is also described. The composition includes a collagen and a fibrin; wherein the composition has a salt concentration below the threshold concentration to form a fibrin.

Haemostatic material

The present invention relates to a haemostatic material comprising a carrier layer and a material for wound contact comprising at least one haemostat in particulate, granular, powder, flake or short fibrous form. Such a haemostatic material is useful, for example, in reducing or stopping bleeding of a physiological target site in a person or animal, and can also be used to stem bleeding during medical procedures.

PH-REGULATING WOUND DRESSING
20200324015 · 2020-10-15 ·

The present invention relates to wound dressings, more particularly for the need-based treatment of chronic and/or infected wounds, comprising a Bronsted acid and a pH-sensitive polymer, wherein the Bronsted acid is embedded in a matrix of pH-sensitive polymer or is surrounded by pH-sensitive polymer. The present invention also relates to particles containing a Bronsted acid and a pH-sensitive polymer for use in the treatment of wounds, more particularly infected wounds and/or chronic wounds.

Targeting cathepsin K to facilitate wound healing
10758559 · 2020-09-01 · ·

Diabetic wounds have elevated levels of cathepsin K, a protease enzyme, which degrades proteins, such as collagen, causing delayed wound healing. By targeting cathepsin K, diabetic wound healing is ameliorated. Methods and devices for treatment include topical application of pharmacological inhibitors of cathepsin K, for example, in the form of gel, powder, or bandage. Other methods and systems include localized genetic knock out of the cathepsin K gene by topical application of a small interfering RNA (siRNA) or antisense oligonucleotide to aid in wound healing.
