Offset torque multiplier
An offset torque multiplier includes an input planetary gearset configured to receive an input torque. The input planetary gearset includes an input sun gear. The input sun gear is rotatable about a first axis of rotation. The offset torque multiplier includes an output planetary gearset configured to provide an output torque. The output planetary gearset includes an output sun gear. The output sun gear is rotatable about a second axis of rotation. The second axis of rotation is offset from the first axis of rotation. The offset torque multiplier includes at least one intermediate planetary gearset coupled between the input planetary gearset and the output planetary gearset. The output torque is greater than the input torque.
Line Wrench Heads and Line Wrenches
The wrench has a thumb switch, when operated, opens against a spring bias the pivotal ring portion around the axis pin attached to the fixed head portion of the wrench head portion, allowing a tube or pipe attached to the fastener to access the confines of the wrench head hexagonal inner profile via the said access channel now provided, the opening of the pivotal ring portion involves approximately 50% of the wrench head portion, the said pivotal ring portion encompassing approximately 50% of the wrench head inner profile. The corner profiles next to the swivel joints are scalloped such that when the pivotal ring is opened the scallops substantially align forming a passageway required for the abutting fastener drive corner to traverse through.
APPARATUS FOR TIGHTENING THREADED FASTENERS
This application discloses an apparatus 100 for use with an electrically, hydraulically and/or pneumatically driven torque tool for tightening or loosening inaccessible threaded fasteners including a drive extension assembly 110, a reaction assembly 120 and a socket assembly 130. Advantageously the present invention uses an external reaction member which holds on to two (2) or four (4) adjacent studs while turning a fastener with an extended drive ball and socket joint connection. It more efficiently distributes/reduces the side loads and system strains from the reaction forces on the bolts by bringing the reaction point much closer to the fastener being turned. It allows for a plurality of fastener approach angles and is adaptable to a plurality of fastener obstructions. It's relatively lightweight, easy to maneuver from fastener to fastener and overall user friendly.
POWER WRENCH WITH ANGLE DRIVE
A power wrench includes a cylindrical housing, a motor, and an angle head attached to the housing and supporting an output shaft in a laterally extending position. The angle head is connected to the housing via a swivel coupling to enable rotation of the angle head and adjustment of the angular position of the output shaft relative to the housing. A releasable locking device is included between the angle head and the housing for arresting the angle head in alternative angular positions relative to the housing.
Powered and cordless box wrench device to ease difficulty in turning hard-to-reach fasteners
A powered and cordless box wrench able to reach and turn fasteners in tight locations consisting of a hex insert with retention features and a hex opening for fasteners, a tool head frame and cover with a recess for a drive shaft, at least one battery, polarity switch button and arm, a power button and arm, and a drive motor with a set of planetary gears and ring, plus a lockout wheel where the hex insert may be secured by the tool head and driven by the motor, planetary gears and drive shaft to ease the difficulty in turning hard to reach fasteners.
Grease Fitting Installation Tool and Method
A grease fitting installation tool is disclosed. The grease fitting installation tool may include a hand tool useful for installing and uninstalling a grease fitting with a hexagonal collar, a threaded shank, and a nipple, i.e., a Zerk fitting. The hand tool may have a first tool head and a second tool head, each able to receive and manipulate a grease fitting. The first and second tool heads may be attached end to end, joining the heads in the center of a hand tool by a couple. The couple may have a wrench interface allowing the hand tool to be engaged by a wrench or other tool. Each tool head may include a hollow socket with a socket aperture and six internal contact surfaces that are hexagonally arranged. The tool head may also include a deformable, cylindrical gripping member disposed within the hollow socket for retaining the grease fitting when the grease fitting is inserted into the gripping member.
Winged screwdriver
This disclosure describes the invention of a winged screwdriver. Limitations of the utility of screwdrivers described prior art are discussed, including physical clearance requirements. These limitations are eliminated by the use of a winged screwdriver, which allows its user to provide sufficient torque for tightening and loosening screws with vertical clearance of as little as 2 inches. This screwdriver is assembled from two component pieces: a wingnut, and a machined piece, known as the screw-bit.
Mill Liner Installation
The present disclosure relates to a method for use in installation of a mill liner, the method including (a) retaining a mounting bolt at least partially within a liner opening extending through the mill liner, (b) positioning the mill liner against a mill shell so that the retained mounting bolt is aligned with a mill shell opening extending through the mill shell, (c) selectively coupling an extraction tool to the mounting bolt, the coupling performed by an operator outside of the mill shell, (d) detaching the mounting bolt from the liner using the extraction tool; (e) pulling the mounting bolt through the mill shell opening so that at least a portion of the mounting bolt protrudes outside of the mill shell, and, (e) securing a fastener onto the mounting bolt to thereby attach the mill liner to the mill.
SOCKET WRENCH
A socket wrench for turning sockets has a handle joined to a head having an inside wall accommodating a body including a socket holder. A permanent magnet attached to the socket holder holds a socket on the socket holder. The body has a plurality of ramps facing the inside wall of the head. Rollers engage the ramps and inside wall. A member mounted on the body engages the rollers to selectively shift the rollers relative to opposite end sections of the ramps. First and second permanent magnets on the body and member maintain the member in selected shifted positions to retain the rollers adjacent the end sections of the ramps.
Pipe wrench
A wrench includes a body having a head and a handle portion defining a longitudinal axis. The wrench includes a first jaw coupled to the head with the first jaw including first teeth and an edge. The edge defines a width of the first jaw. The wrench includes a second jaw extending through an aperture of the head with the second jaw including a threaded portion and second teeth. The wrench includes an actuator coupled to the threaded portion of the second jaw such that rotation of the actuator relative to the second jaw moves the second teeth relative to the first teeth. A length is measured from the edge of the first jaw to the second end of the handle portion parallel to the longitudinal axis. A ratio of the width of the first jaw over the length is less than 0.06.
