TOOLING ASSEMBLY AND METHOD FOR INSTALLATION OF A FRANGIBLE FASTENER
20190120274 · 2019-04-25 ·

A tooling assembly for fastener installation has a socket body reversibly rotatable by a driving mechanism. A bore in the socket body has a first end portion and a central portion incorporating threads. A second end portion of the bore receives and engages a severable section of a frangible fastener. A pin is received in the bore and constrained from rotation by the driving mechanism. The pin has an ejection shaft with mating threads selectively receivable in the threads of the central portion of the bore. The socket body is freely rotatable with the mating threads positioned in the first end portion of the bore. Rotation of the socket body in torques the frangible fastener on a stud fracturing the severable section. Reverse rotation of the socket body engages the mating threads in the threads translating the pin. The ejection shaft ejects the severable section from the second end portion.

The invention is based on a tool device, in particular hand-held tool device, for use in a surgical method, comprising a tool receptacle, an operating unit, a torque limitation unit, a torque transmission unit and a magazine unit. The torque limitation unit is arranged between the operating unit and the tool receptacle and comprises a plurality of torque limitation elements which are provided to be destroyed when a given torque is exceeded. The magazine unit is provided to exert a thrust force onto the torque limitation elements for introducing them one by one into the torque transmission unit, and the torque limitation unit is provided to respectively receive a torque limitation element and to destroy it when the given torque is exceeded, wherein the torque limitation elements are arranged on a rotary working axle of the tool receptacle.

Nut-fastening tool

An operation switch sends an ON signal to a control processor indicating the operation switch is triggered by a user. A magnetic sensor sends a sensor signal to the control processor based on a displacement of a chip rod in a rearward direction. In the case where the sensor signal has not yet been sent, the control processor performs a control in a first mode where a brushless DC motor is not driven. In the case where sensor signal is sent, control processor performs a control in a second mode wherein the brushless DC motor is driven. An output in the first mode is lower than in the second mode. Because of this manner of construction, even if an ON input is triggered and held by the user, electric power is conserved while the operation switch is switched on and a hexagonal nut is not fastened, improving power consumption efficiency.

A fastening tool for fastening a nut to a bolt includes a pipe and a coupling member. The nut breaks at specified torque. The pipe has a socket wrench, a detachable structure and a suction port. The detachable structure is for attaching to and detaching from a rotor of a rotational drive device. The suction port is for suctioning a piece of the nut broken by the specified torque. The coupling member has a flow path, a first coupling portion and a second coupling portion. The flow path is for suctioning the piece of the nut from the suction port. The piece of the nut is suctioned from the suction port with an ejector. The first coupling portion couples the coupling member to a casing of the rotational drive device. The second coupling portion couples the coupling member to a duct of the ejector.
