20200376642 · 2020-12-03 ·

A preferably pliers type stapler is disclosed with a staple loading structure that is both simplified and easy to operate. A lower handle and base are connected to the body through a pivoting and cam system. A single motion pulls the lower handle and base away from the body to expose a staple track location for loading staples at a bottom of the body. Preferably the same single motion releases the track to move outward from a rear of the body. In one embodiment a compact simplified structure using a preferably torsion spring provides a low cost reliable spring energized system.

A reload assembly includes a shell housing, a knife carrier, and a one-way collar. The knife carrier is movably positioned about an inner housing portion of the shell housing between retracted and advanced positions and supports a snap-ring. The one-way collar is movably supported about the inner housing portion of the shell housing from a retracted position to an advanced position in response to movement of the knife carrier from its retracted position to its advanced position. The snap-ring is movable with the knife carrier to a position proximally of the one-way collar when the one-way collar is in its advanced position to obstruct movement of the knife carrier back towards its advanced position.

A magazine assembly and a stapler including the same are provided. The magazine assembly includes a base and a rail assembly. The base has a first end portion and a second end portion. A direction from the second end portion toward the first end portion is defined as a first direction. The rail assembly is disposed on the base and adapted for a staple unit to movably abut thereagainst along the first direction. The rail assembly includes a first rail and a second rail which are separate. A first side wall of the first rail has at least one guiding portion extending in the first direction. Each guiding portion is adapted for a head of a T-shaped staple to slidably engage therewith along the first direction. The second rail is adapted for a U-shaped staple to abut thereagainst.

Magazine with lockback pusher for use with stapling device

A fastener magazine of a fastening device may include a track defining an elongated channel with a dispensing end at which fasteners are dispensed from the magazine. A runner positioned in the track may include a release member that projects outward from an outer surface of the runner. A pusher may be positioned in the track and coupled to the runner such that the pusher exerts a force in a direction toward the dispensing end of the track on the fasteners when the runner is in a closed position. A retention member that is attached to a side wall of the track can engage the pusher through an aperture in the track to prevent the pusher from contacting the fasteners until the runner has reached a desired position in the track. The release member can contact the retention member to disengage the retention member from the pusher.

SLAP HAMMER WITH CAP DISPENSER

A cap hammer for driving a staple through a cap into a work surface. The cap hammer includes a staple magazine configured to hold a plurality of staples, a cap magazine disposed beneath the staple magazine and configured to hold a horizontal stack of caps, an internal guide body disposed at a forward end of the cap hammer, a cap driver blade disposed within the internal guide body configured to shear a cap from the stack of caps, a staple driver blade disposed within the internal guide body configured to shear a staple from the plurality of staples, and a work contact element disposed at the forward end of the cap hammer and configured to activate the cap driver blade and the staple driver blade when depressed against a work surface.
