Adaptor for power tool devices

An adapter for a power tool including a housing, a tool-side connector, and a battery-side connector in electrical communication with each other. The tool-side connector is configured to couple to a power tool, and the battery-side connector is configured to couple to a battery pack. The adapter also includes a communication interface configured to couple with an external device, and a controller. The controller is configured to determine a state of the power tool, operate in a data transmission mode when the power tool is in the idle state, operate in a pass-through mode when the power tool is in the active state, and switch between the data transmission mode and the pass-through mode based on the state of the power tool.

Control method for a hand-held power tool

The hand-held power tool has a tool holder (2) for holding a tool (4) along a working axis (12). A hammer mechanism (6) has a striker (15) that is moved periodically along the working axis at an impact rate. A drive control (18) of the hammer mechanism (6) sets the impact rate to a set point value. A vibration absorber (19) has an oscillator (21) that moves along the working axis (12) about a resting position and one or multiple springs (20) that drive the oscillator (21) back into the resting position. A calibration phase comprises the following steps: detection of an acceleration using the acceleration sensor (24); determination of a minimum of the acceleration by varying the impact rate in a range of between 90% and 110% of the set point value; and adjusting the set point to the impact rate associated with the ascertained minimum.

Electric working machine, and method for determining load-imposed state of electric working machine

An electric working machine in one aspect of the present disclosure includes a motor; an acceleration sensor; a load-determiner; a filter part having a cutoff frequency; and a filter-property setting part. The filter part removes an unwanted signal component from a detection signal from the acceleration sensor based on the cutoff frequency and inputs, to the load-determiner, the detection signal with the unwanted signal component removed. The filter-property setting part changes the cutoff frequency of the filter part such that a cutoff frequency in a high-speed rotation mode is higher than a cutoff frequency in a low-speed rotation mode.

A multi-function handheld electric tool includes a motor housing receiving a motor, a settable clutch coupled with a speed reduction transmission, transmission housing coupled to the motor housing and having a first housing portion coupled to the motor housing, and a second housing portion extending from the first portion towards a chuck, and a setting collar which is rotatably fit over the second housing portion of the transmission housing and rotatable between a plurality of predetermined angular positions of which at least one corresponds to a non-torque limited first operation mode of the tool and the remaining positions correspond to different torque output levels of a torque limited second operation mode of the tool.

ROTARY HAMMER
20190308307 · 2019-10-10 ·

A rotary hammer is adapted to impart axial impacts to a tool bit. The rotary hammer comprises a housing, a motor supported by the housing, a gearcase, and a spindle housed in the gearcase and coupled to the motor for receiving torque from the motor, causing the spindle to rotate. The rotary hammer also comprises a reciprocating impact mechanism operable to create a variable pressure air spring within the spindle. The rotary hammer also comprises a vibration damping mechanism including a base on the gearcase, a counterweight circumscribing the base, and a first spring arranged between the base and the counterweight and defining a first biasing axis that is parallel to the reciprocation axis. The vibration damping mechanism also includes a second spring arranged between the base and the counterweight and arranged along the first biasing axis.

ROTARY POWER TOOL INCLUDING TRANSMISSION HOUSING BUSHING
20190299383 · 2019-10-03 ·

A rotary power tool comprises a drive mechanism including an electric motor and a transmission, a housing enclosing at least a portion of the drive mechanism, a spindle rotatable in response to receiving torque from the drive mechanism, a first ratchet coupled for co-rotation with the spindle, a second ratchet rotationally fixed to the housing, a sleeve bushing on an interior of the housing, and a bearing arranged between the spindle and the sleeve bushing and rotatably supporting the spindle. The bearing has an outer race. The spindle is movable relative to the housing in response to contact with a workpiece, causing the first and second ratchets to engage and the spindle to reciprocate while rotating. The outer race of the bearing moves along the sleeve bushing during reciprocation of the spindle when the first ratchet and second ratchet are engaged.

Planetary gear system

A planetary gear system with a sun gear, a ring gear co-axial with the sun gear, at least one planetary gear meshing with both the sun gear and the ring gear, and a planetary gear carrier which rotationally supports the at least one planetary gear. A torque clutch is supported by and connected directly between two of the sun gear, the ring gear, the at least one planetary gear and the planetary gear carrier. The torque clutch prevents relative rotation when an acting torque is below a predetermined torque value and allows relative rotation when the acting torque is above the predetermined torque value. A torque threshold adjustment mechanism is provided for adjusting the predetermined value of the torque at which the torque clutch slips.

Drill

A drill has a housing, a motor mounted in the housing having a drive spindle, an output spindle rotationally driven by the drive spindle via a torque clutch. The torque clutch slips when the torque across the torque clutch exceeds a predetermined value. The predetermined value of the torque at which the torque clutch starts to slip is adjustable via a torque threshold adjustment mechanism. A sleeve is rotatably mounted on the output spindle. The drive spindle drives the sleeve via a gear system at a same rate and direction as the output spindle so that there is no relative rotation between the sleeve and output spindle when the torque clutch is not slipping and at a different rate and/or direction so that there is relative rotation between the sleeve and output spindle when the torque clutch is slipping.

Rotary hammer

A hammer/drill includes a housing, a motor with armature shaft, a spindle rotatably mounted about a longitudinal axis in the housing, a tool holder rotatingly driven by the motor about the longitudinal axis, a hammer mechanism for generating impacts acting on the tool holder, a drive shaft coupleable with the armature shaft, and a switching arrangement to switch between drilling, hammer drilling, and hammering modes. The switching arrangement comprises a selector and coupling part axially displaceable on the drive shaft between lower and upper positions, coupling and decoupling the drive shaft to the armature shaft respectively. The coupling part includes a sleeve comprising a flange, and the selector comprises a fork for engaging a lower part of the flange. A protuberance engages a drive member of the selector to pivot the selector when the spindle is rotated, engaging over only a portion of the rotational movement of the spindle.
