The apparatus includes a modular shaver, a modular massager, a razor head, and a power interface. The modular shaver is an electric shaver that can accommodate different attachments that facilitate the shaving or trimming of different body hair. The modular massager is an electric massager designed to provide physical stimulation to different body areas. The razor head corresponds to one of several razor heads that can be selectively attached to the modular shaver to groom the desired body hair. The power interface enables the selective coupling of the modular massager to the modular shaver. The power interface also enables the power transmission from the modular massager to the modular shaver when the modular massager is coupled to the modular shaver.

According to a first aspect there is disclosed a housing assembly comprising: a housing body defining an interior space configured to receive a switch, and an aperture configured to provide access to the interior space from an exterior of the housing body; a soft sealing element disposed in the aperture and bonded to the housing body so as to seal the aperture between the interior space and the exterior of the housing body, the soft sealing element configured to be elastically deformable to actuate the switch when disposed in the housing body; and a hard island fixed to the soft sealing element, wherein the hard island is separate from, and moveable relative to, the housing body into the interior space so as to elastically deform the soft sealing element to actuate the switch when disposed in the housing body.

An electric hair cutting device including a housing having a first end and a second end opposite the first end, a bladeset mounted to the housing at the first end, the bladeset having a stationary blade and a reciprocating blade, an electric motor electrically connected to a power source within the housing, a drive shaft operatively connecting the electric motor to the reciprocating blade, a control module within the housing which controls a rotational speed of the electric motor; and a trigger which sends an actuation signal to the control module based on a partial actuation of the trigger between a minimum actuation and a maximum actuation, the control module adjusting a rotational speed of the electric motor based on the actuation signal.
