The present disclosure relates to a hair cutting appliance (10), a blade set (20), and to a stationary blade (22) for said blade set (20). Said stationary blade (22) may comprise a first wall portion (100) arranged to serve as a skin facing wall when in operation, a second wall portion (102) at least partially offset from the first wall portion (100), such that the first wall portion (100) and the second wall portion (102) define therebetween a guide slot (96) arranged to receive a movable cutter blade (24), an intermediate wall portion (44) arranged between the first wall portion (100) and the second wall portion (102), at least one toothed leading edge (30) jointly formed by the first wall portion (100) and the second wall portion (102), wherein the at least one toothed leading edge (30) comprises a plurality of teeth (36), wherein the first wall portion (100) and the second wall portion (102) are connected at a frontal end of the at least one leading edge (30), thereby forming tips (86) of the teeth (36), wherein the stationary blade (22) is an integrally formed metal-plastic composite stationary blade (22), wherein the first wall portion (100) is at least partially made from metal material, wherein the second wall portion (102) is at least partially made from plastic material, wherein the intermediate wall portion (44) defines a central offset (lco) between the first wall portion (100) and the second wall portion (102), and wherein the intermediate wall portion (44) is adapted to a respective opening (46) of a to-be-mounted movable cutter blade (24). The disclosure further relates to a method for manufacturing a respective blade (22).

A hair cutting appliance (10), a blade set (20) for a hair cutting appliance (10). and to an integrally formed metal-plastic composite stationary blade (22) for said blade set (20) are described. The stationary blade (22) may include: a first wall portion (58) arranged to serve as a skin facing wall when in operation; a second wall portion (60) at least partially offset from the first wall portion (58), such that the first wall portion (58) and the second wall portion (60) define there between a guide slot (116) arranged to receive a movable cutter blade (24), at least one toothed leading edge (30) jointly formed by the first wall portion (58) and the second wall portion (60) and a plastic component (114) including at least one mounting element (36). The toothed leading edge (30) includes a plurality of teeth (90).

The present disclosure relates to a stationary blade (66, 166) for a blade set of a hair cutting appliance, the stationary blade (66, 166) comprising a top wall (76, 176), a bottom wall (78, 178), and a guide slot (80, 180) formed therebetween to accommodate a movable blade (68, 168), a plurality of stationary blade teeth (74, 174) each having a frontal end (100, 200), wherein the top wall (76, 176) and the bottom wall (78, 178) are mutually joined at the frontal ends (100, 200), wherein the top wall (76, 176) and the bottom wall (78, 178) are, at least at the frontal ends (100, 200), made from sheet metal material, and wherein, at the frontal ends (100, 200), two or more sheet metal folded edges (106, 108; 206, 208, 210) are present. The present disclosure further relates to a blade set (64, 164) and to methods of manufacturing a stationary blade (66, 166) and a blade set (64, 164) for a hair cutting appliance (10).

The present invention relates to a method (200) of forming a plurality of teeth of a cutting blade or guard, the method comprises: a) taking (210) a blank of material, the blank having an upper outer surface and a lower outer surface, wherein at least a portion of the lower outer surface is substantially planar and forms a plane of the blank; b) utilizing (220) a cutting device (20) In comprising a first die (40) and a second die (50), wherein the first die comprises a plurality of first elements (42) and the second die comprises a plurality of second elements (52), wherein a first plane (60) is defined with respect to upper surfaces of the plurality of first elements and a second plane (70) is defined with respect to lower surfaces of the plurality of second elements, and wherein each upper surface of the plurality of first elements has a centre part (44) that lies in the first plane and edge parts (46) that are below the first plane; c) placing (230) the blank in the cutting device, such that the portion of the lower outer surface faces the upper surfaces of the plurality of first elements and the portion of the upper outer surface faces the lower surfaces of the plurality of second elements; d) moving (240) the first die and second die with respect to each other such that the first plane is moved toward and passes through the second plane, such that each element of the plurality of first elements passes at least partially between adjacent elements of the plurality of second elements, and wherein teeth (80) of the cutting blade or guard are formed that correspond to the positions of the plurality of first elements and wherein the teeth have a lower outer surface formed from the lower outer surface of the blank; and e) utilizing (250) a bending device (30) to bend edge portions (82) of the teeth of the cutting blade or guard that extend below the plane of the blank after step d) back toward the plane of the blank.

A rotary electric shaver according to the present invention includes an outer blade whose upper surface functions as annular shaving surfaces having multiple hair inlets formed therein, and an inner blade that has a small blade which rotates while coming into sliding contact with a lower surface of the outer blade. The inner blade is an integral structure using a metal material, and has a projection in which an upper surface side is a convex portion and a lower surface side is a concave portion at a center position in a radial direction. An upper end portion of an inner blade drive shaft directly engages with the concave portion so as to be disengageable therefrom.

The present disclosure relates to a method of forming a sheet-metal based double-walled stationary blade (24) for a hair cutting appliance (10), the method comprising: providing a first pre-product layer (70), providing a second pre-product layer (72) which is separate from the first pre-product layer (70), providing a guide slot (44) for a cutter (26), and bonding the first pre-product layer (70) and the second pre-product layer (72) to one another such that the pre-product layers (70, 72) are arranged to jointly receive a to-be-mounted cutter (26), wherein the first pre-product layer (70) and the second pre-product layer (72), in the bonded state, are at least partially offset from one another to provide a defined mating clearance fit for the to-be-mounted cutter (26), wherein the pre-product layers (70, 72) are bonded to one another at their longitudinal ends such that stationary blade teeth (54) are partially formed by the first pre-product layer (70) and partially formed by the second pre-product layer (72), and wherein tips (56) of the stationary blade teeth (54) are arranged adjacent to a transition zone (84) between the pre-product layers (70, 72). The present disclosure further relates to a cutting appliance and to a blade set (22) for such an appliance.

An elongated outer blade for a slit cutter is disclosed. The outer blade extends along a first axis and comprises a number of slits and webs disposed between the slits. The webs have an upper surface, a lower surface and side surfaces extending between the upper and lower surfaces. At least some of the webs are provided with a concave clearance formed between a side surface and the lower surface forming an edge with the side surface. Further, a shaver having such an outer blade and a method for producing an outer blade using etching are disclosed.
