A cutting head (18) for a hair cutting appliance (10) comprises a blade set (20) including a stationary blade (36) and a cutter blade (38). The stationary blade and the cutter blade comprise at least one toothed leading edge (22,24) jointly defined by respective teeth (62,64) thereof that extend in a longitudinal direction (X). The stationary blade further comprises a front face (58), at the teeth (62) thereof, arranged to face a user's skin, when in operation. A skin protector (76) couples to a housing portion (32) of the cutting head, wherein the skin protector at least partially covers the front face (58) and is arranged to contact the skin, when in operation. The skin protector is movable between a first state and a second state with respect to the blade set (20) and includes an advanced position in the first state and a retracted position in the second state.

Electric shaver

An electric shaver includes a main body, an outer blade that is held by the main body in a state where a surface of the outer blade is exposed, an inner blade that is disposed inside the outer blade so as to be movable relative to the outer blade, and a rotator that has a rotating body disposed in the main body so as to extend in a moving direction of the inner blade, and a supporter disposed in the main body so as to rotatably support the rotating body. The rotator has an elastic body which enables the rotating body to rotate in a state where the rotating body is in contact with a skin, and which restrains the rotating body from vibrating in a state where the rotating body is not in contact with the skin.

METHOD OF FOLDING METAL BLANK MADE OF HIGH-STRENGHT MATERIAL WITHOUT CRACKS

A method of manufacturing a component from a high-strength blank metal strip or sheet (MS) having a tensile strength of at least 850 MPa. The method comprises reducing the thickness (T) of the strip or sheet (MS) in a folding section (FS) so that a shaped section (SS) having a predetermined shape is obtained in at least a part of the folding section (FS). The strip or sheet (MS) is then folded along the shaped section (SS), so that a surface of a first section (1S) becomes arranged adjacent and parallel to a surface a the second section (2S) of the metal strip (MS). Finally, the first and second sections (1S,2S) are joined, so that the strip or sheet (MS) remains folded. With this method, it is possible to use high-strength steel, e.g. AISI 301 stainless steel, and still fold a thin strip or sheet (MS) without undesired cracks in the folding section. For example, the invention is applicable for manufacturing of plate-shaped hair-pulling elements (HPE) for a cutting unit (CU) of a shaving apparatus.
