Systems and methods for cleaning and sterilizing fluids and articles using electromagnetic waves
11426482 · 2022-08-30 ·

Systems and methods are disclosed for cleaning and sterilizing fluids and other materials. In one implementation, one or more emitters are submerged within a fluid and emit electromagnetic waves having a variable frequency. The frequency of the electromagnetic waves is swept across a frequency range to neutralize bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens in the fluid. The emitters may be submerged within a fluid reservoir and/or within the interior of an enclosed fluidic path (e.g., a pipe). Solid materials may be sterilized by immersing the solid materials within the fluid of such a fluid reservoir. In another implementation, electromagnetic waves may be applied to one or more wires that are wrapped around an exterior wall of a pipe. The frequency of the electromagnetic waves may be varied across a frequency range, resulting in scale and other materials being cleaned from the interior wall of the pipe.

ANTI-MICROBIAL, DISINFECTION CHAMBER RESPIRATORY FACE MASK/SHIELD
20220030982 · 2022-02-03 ·

A self-sterilizing, face mask, respirator, open or enclosed face shield employs germicidal, far UV-C light safe for direct human exposure, mitigating risk of acquisition or transmission of respiratory pathogens, such as COVID 19. Device attachments or special lenses direct far UV-C light into the respiratory chamber and/or reservoir areas of infection including nasal, oropharyngeal or ocular areas to reduce or eliminate pathogens, serving also as a treatment modality. In a preferred embodiment the face shield has a removable front section, which can be exchanged or replaced with sections that include various functional attributes while maintaining germicidal protections and avoiding need to remove PPE during these activities including consumption of liquids, oral medications or food, as well as providing antimicrobial absorbent sneeze or cough guard or rhinorrhea secretion absorption, or a communication device to address communication deficiencies caused by respiratory protection barriers.

STERILIZATION CASSETTE

Disclosed is a sterilization cassette with a less cumbersome mechanism for opening and closing the cassette, as compared to prior art cassettes. The cassette includes a slider mechanism that couples the cassette closed with pins and hooks on one side, and that allows pivoting of the two cassette pieces with slots and pins on the other side. The cassette can therefore be open and closed with one hand in a simple and easy manner. The cassette can also include inserts that hold instruments in a staggered, multi-layer manner to increase the efficiency of the cassette as compared to the single-layered inserts of the prior art.

ULTRAVIOLET DISINFECTOR AND RELATED METHODS FOR DISINFECTING ARTICLES

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an apparatus and a method for disinfecting an article. The method includes providing a disinfection container inside a cabinet having an opening. The disinfection container includes an ultraviolet (UV) source, a tray moveable between a first position outside the cabinet for placement and retrieval of an article and a second position within the disinfection container for article disinfection, and a barrier. The method also includes moving the tray (i) outwards from the disinfection container to pivot the barrier away from the opening for extending the tray to the first position and (ii) towards the second position to pivot the barrier towards the opening for blocking the opening to prevent access to the tray in the second position through the opening, and projecting UV light from the UV source on to the article in the second position until a disinfection cycle is complete.

COMBINATION GLOVE AND ANTISEPTIC DISPENSER
20220031886 · 2022-02-03 ·

The combination glove and antiseptic dispenser includes a glove adapted for receiving the hand of the user and having an inner surface and an outer surface. The glove is formed from a first fluid-impermeable material. A dispensing layer is formed from at least one sheet, which is made from a second fluid-impermeable material and has a plurality of pores formed therethrough. At least one absorbent layer is sandwiched between the outer surface of the glove and the dispensing layer, such that antiseptic liquid absorbed by the at least one absorbent layer may be dispensed through the plurality of pores of the at least one sheet. The at least one absorbent layer may be formed from any suitable type of absorbent material, such as those commonly associated with pre-moistened towelettes, wet wipes, baby wipes and the like.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SANITIZING COMPUTING DEVICES

Systems and methods for operating a cart. The methods comprise: receiving an electronic device on a shelf disposed in a main chamber of the cart; supplying power from the cart to the electronic device; transitioning a mode of the cart from a first mode in which a UV lamp is disabled to a second mode during which the UV lamp is to be enabled; detecting, by a computing device, that a door of the cart is in a closed position; causing, by the computing device, an enablement of the UV lamp, responsive to a detection that the door is in the closed position; and using light from the UV lamp to clean the surface of the electronic device while power is being supplied from the cart to the electronic device.

COLUMN ASSEMBLY TRANSFER MECHANISM AND SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SANITIZING SAME

A system includes a radiation containment chamber, an isolator connected to the radiation containment chamber, a rotating transfer door positioned between the radiation containment chamber and the isolator, and an antimicrobial vapor generator connected to the isolator. The rotating transfer door includes a cavity for receiving a radionuclide generator column assembly, and is rotatable between a first position, in which the cavity is open to the radiation containment chamber, and a second position, in which the cavity is open to the isolator. The transfer door is adapted to rotate while antimicrobial vapor is introduced into the isolator by the antimicrobial vapor generator.

TREATMENT AND AGITATION DEVICE FOR ULTRAVIOLET, TEMPERATURE AND GASEOUS CONTROLLED STERILIZATION, CURING AND TREATMENT OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS INCLUDING CANNABIS, AND METHODS FOR TREATMENT
20220040341 · 2022-02-10 ·

An ultraviolet light sterilization device for treatment of plant materials, having a rotational treatment chamber having an axis of rotation and at least one mechanical agitation element, an ultraviolet light device that is positioned inside the rotational treatment chamber and is further positioned generally parallel to and congruent with the axis of rotation and where the ultraviolet light device and the rotational treatment chamber are connected to one another via a rotational bearing such that the rotational treatment chamber may be rotated about the axis of rotation while the ultraviolet light device does not rotate, and where the ultraviolet light device is electrically coupled to a power source via an electrical cable that passes through an aperture in the rotational bearing.

METHOD, APPARATUS AND SYSTEM FOR DISINFECTING AIR AND/OR SURFACES

To provide a method for disinfecting air and surfaces which provides a continuous protection of people and/or animals from pathogens a given volume, in particular for essentially 24 hours a day, and which can be conducted with people and animals present, a method for disinfecting air and surfaces is proposed, wherein a disinfectant is dispersed into a volume to be disinfected, wherein the disinfectant comprises electrolyzed and/or sterilized water containing hypochlorous acid, and wherein a dispersion rate of the disinfectant is adjusted such, that a concentration of the hypochlorous acid in the volume is continuously between 0.05 mg/m.sup.3 and 10.0 mg/m.sup.3.
