Razor blades having a wide facet angle

A razor blade including a substrate with a coating joined to the substrate defining a coated blade. The coated blade including a cutting edge being defined by a blade tip having a tip radius of from 50 to 350 angstroms. The coated blade having a pair of first facets extending from the blade tip and a pair of second facets extending from the respective first facets, a facet angle from 90° to 135°, a facet width from 0.38 micrometers to 0.65 micrometers a wedge angle from 5° to 30°, and a thickness of between 0.8 and 1.5 micrometers measured at a distance of 1 micrometer from the blade tip.

Razor blade

A razor blade including a substrate with a cutting edge portion ending in a sharpened tip. The substrate having a thickness of between 1.55 and 1.97 micrometers measured at a distance of five micrometers from the tip, a thickness of between 4.6 and 6.34 micrometers measured at a distance of twenty micrometers from the tip, and a thickness of between 19.8 and 27.12 micrometers measured at a distance of one hundred micrometers from the tip.

METHOD OF PREPARING A MEAT SKINNER BLADE AND MEAT SKINNER BLADE PREPARED THEREBY

In one aspect, a method of preparing a meat skinner blade is provided which includes: abrading an upper edge of a steel strip to form an angularly-offset two-facet blade edge; and, honing the two-facet blade edge of the steel strip to impart a vertical taper along the two facets of the two-facet blade edge. Advantageously, the subject invention provides a blade for meat skinning, de-membraning, and derinding having, in use, a downwardly-turned edge with vertical tapering. This provides for a robust design capable for more cuts, and, thus, longer use life, than standard meat skinner blades.

Razor system

A shaving cartridge (1) with connectors (3) on each side portion of the plurality of side portions (2C) of the housing (2D) and a plurality of cutting members (7). Each of the connectors is operable to permit the side portions to pivot relative to each other. Thus, the housing will assume different configurations and is operable to adapt to and follow a contour defined by a shaving surface.

RAZOR CARTRIDGE

A cartridge for a razor comprises at least one blade and a first blade support configured to attach the at least one blade to the cartridge. The first blade support includes a first portion, a second portion, and a third portion, a first optical feature provided on one or more of the first portion, the second portion, and the third portion. The first optical feature is selected from one or more of a color, a coating, a texture, a perforation, a transparency of the blade support, a light emitting source, a protrusion and a sticker.

LASER WELDED RAZOR BLADES

A method for manufacturing a razor cartridge component comprises continuously feeding an elongated band of material, separating one or more blade support elements from the elongated band of material, stabilizing the one or more separated blade support elements in a stationary position; providing one or more razor blades; and laser welding the one or more razor blades to respective ones of the stabilized one or more blade support elements.
