Sanitary Napkin
A sanitary napkin, towel, or pad having one or more of Manuka honey, Tourmaline powder, Jade powder, Amethyst powder, or silver applied to or sewn into a layer of the napkin.
Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) Releasing Donor Compound For Dermal Wound Regeneration
A dressing for wound healing is provided, wherein the dressing includes a hydrogen sulfide (H.sub.2S) donor compound. The dressing facilitates the delivery of H.sub.2S to a wound site in a controlled manner, which results in an improved wound healing process by stimulating angiogenesis and anti-inflammatory action. In some embodiments, the wound dressing can include an electrospun nanofiber dressing, a sponge dressing, or a hydrogel dressing.
MATTRESS FOR PREVENTING AND TREATING BEDSORES
The present invention relates to a mattress for preventing and treating bedsores comprising a main body (1) and an exchangeable element (2, 3, 4), said exchangeable element (2, 3, 4) comprising an absorbent composition (7) and a disinfectant composition (8).
The present invention also relates to a method for manufacturing such a mattress, and comprising the following steps: production of the main body (1), covered with a cover (5), in particular in plasticized jersey, with a housing for at least one exchangeable element (2, 3, 4), production of an exchangeable element (2, 3, 4) in honeycomb cardboard or viscoelastic cellular foam, deposition of an absorbent composition (7) in the exchangeable element, deposition of a disinfectant composition (8) on the absorbent composition, arrangement of an envelope (11) around the exchangeable element (2, 3, 4), made in particular of a permeable nonwoven textile, placement of the exchangeable element (2, 3, 4) in the car responding housing of the main body (1).
OXYGEN-ENRICHED SILICONE OIL AND PERFLUOROCARBON AS VITREORETINAL TAMPONADE
Described herein are oxygen-enriched tamponade compositions comprising silicone oil or a perfluorocarbon and methods of their use in the repair of retinal detachment. Post-operative repair for retinal detachment can include enhanced wound healing as the result of the administration of the compositions described herein. The enhanced wound healing can include rescue of ischemic retinal tissue, surgery induced hypoxia, and reduction of unwanted scar tissue development and prevention of re-detachment of the retina after surgical repair.
ANTIMICROBIAL FLUOROPOLYMER
Provided is a composition having excellent antimicrobial performance. The present invention relates to a composite material, comprising: a fluoropolymer; and an antimicrobial agent; wherein the fluoropolymer and the antimicrobial agent are compounded.
Antimicrobial and antiviral hygienic products
The present invention relates to hygienic products such as sanitary pads and tampons, patient/adult diapers and baby diapers which are made antimicrobial. In the present invention, a mixture of glucopon, chlorhexidine gluconate and triclosan is obtained from the boron compounds called sodium borate, zinc borate, sodium perborate tetrahydrate, borax pentahydrate and disodium octaborate tetrahydrate; and this mixture provides antifungal, anticandidal, antibacterial and antiviral properties to the woven or non-woven textile products and hygienic products. Additionally, the said hygienic products are made hydrophilic by means of the invention.
ELECTROCHEMICAL GASOTRANSMITTER GENERATING COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF USING SAME AND DRESSINGS AND TREATMENT SYSTEMS INCORPORATING SAME
Disclosed are compositions that comprise an organic electrochemical mediator and a gasotransmitter salt which converts into a gasotransmitter via electron transfer. Also disclosed are bandages and wound dressings comprising the subject gasotransmitters, and methods of making a gasotransmitters, comprising exposing the compositions to a voltage sufficient to reduce the water soluble organic mediator. Further disclosed are methods of treating a variety of trauma and disease states by applying a therapeutically effective amount of at least one gasotransmitter thereto, and methods of generating an effective dose of the gasotransmitter generated from electrolytic reaction involving the gasotransmitter-generating compositions.
IMPLANT
A method of forming an implant for the repair of defects in bone. the method comprises the steps of: electrospinning bioactive glass fibres: compressing the electrospun bioactive glass fibres to form a compressed body: heating the compressed body to bond the fibres to form a shaped body: heat treating the shaped body to form a heat-treated shaped body. There is also disclosed an implant for use in repairing critical or sub critical bone defects.
HYDROGEL FOAM PATCH FOR OXYGEN DELIVERY AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
The present disclosure is directed to a closed cell foam matrix for delivering oxygen containing a superabsorbent material oxygen entrapped within the superabsorbent material. The superabsorbent material has at least 15 percent by mass monoethylenically unsaturated carboxylic, sulphonic or phosphoric acid or salts thereof, an acrylate or methacrylate ester that contains an alkoxysilane functionality, and a copolymerizable hydrophilic glycol containing ester monomer. To produce the closed cell foam matrix for delivering oxygen, an alkali hydroxide catalyst is added to the superabsorbent material to form a hydrogel layer. Then, an oxygen precursor is added to the hydrogel layer. The hydrogel layer is heated to produce oxygen by reacting the alkali hydroxide catalyst and the oxygen precursor thereby entrapping the oxygen in the formed closed cell foam matrix.
GAS TRANSPORTING RHEOLOGICAL MEDIUM
What is disclosed is high saturated gas solution compositions for use medical use. Any therapeutically relevant gas is contemplated but highly oxygenated solutions are preferred. These solutions are the basis for several types of theological mediums such as lotions or gels.
