Vacuum Knife Tool
Cutting of a material, such as a textile or film, can damage the material. A tool is provided that utilizes vacuum pressure near a knife edge to increase a result of the cut. The vacuum pressure passes through a base portion of the tool that has a recessed portion effective to distribute vacuum pressure to one or more apertures extending around an insert of a core portion. The one or more apertures align with a void between the knife edge and the insert allowing for the void to transmit the vacuum pressure through the tool to the knife edge. A machine horn may then cut the material at the knife edge and couple the material with another material.
System for portioning foodstuff to user-specified shape
A system for cutting a three-dimensional portion from a foodstuff includes a conveyor for carrying a foodstuff to be portioned, a scanner located adjacent to the conveyor for scanning the foodstuff, a computer coupled to the scanner for receiving scan information to determine one or more cutting paths for the foodstuff, and a cutter for portioning the foodstuff according to the determined cutting path(s). The computer performs generally four steps: (i) receiving scan information from the scanner; (ii) building a three-dimensional map of the foodstuff based on the received scan information; (iii) fitting at least one desired shape, which is stored in the memory of the computer, onto the built three-dimensional map; and (iv) determining one or more cutting paths for portioning the foodstuff to produce one or more portioned foodstuffs corresponding to the at least one desired shape.
Trimmer
An edge portion of a bound material is provided with first and second lines. The first and second lines are spaced at a small interval and arranged in parallel to each other. The first line is arranged outside of the second line of the bound material. A control unit controls first and second drive mechanisms in such a manner that the edge portion of the bound material is cut at the first line by a trim cutter, then the trim cutter or the table is moved at the small interval in a moving direction toward the second line, and then the edge portion of the bound material is cut at the second line by the trim cutter.
METHOD FOR LAYING OUT PIECES TO BE CUT AUTOMATICALLY INTO A PATTERNED FABRIC
A method for placing pieces intended to be cut automatically from a fabric having a pattern that repeats at a predetermined pitch, called pattern pitch, involves the steps of determining a list of pieces to be placed on the fabric, for at least one piece of the placement, calculating a contour to be placed around the piece, the contour having a variable margin in order to avoid an overlap between adjacent pieces, the margin being a function of a predefined rate of variation of the fabric and of at least one predetermined constraint of placement of the piece on the fabric, and developing a theoretical placement of the pieces on the fabric taking into account the contour to be placed of each piece.
Gripper, cutting apparatus and method for cutting a product
The present invention relates to a gripper for gripping a product, in particular a food product, having a suction device which has a contact surface which can be brought into contact with a section, in particular with an end section, of the product, wherein the suction device comprises at least one first suction section which is bounded in the radial direction by a sealing device and which is in communication with a pumping device generating a vacuum; and at least one sealing section which is arranged outside the first suction section viewed in the radial direction of the contact region and at least sectionally, in particular completely, surrounds it in the radial direction. The present invention relates to a cutting apparatus having a corresponding gripper and to a method for cutting a product.
RE-SEALER FOR A MULTI-PLY CUTTER
The invention is directed to a re-sealer for a multi-ply cutter including a cutter table and a cutter frame. The cutter frame includes a fixed re-sealer end attached to an overlay film. The overlay film covers a workpiece on the cutter table through a movable re-sealer end, which is longitudinally displaced along the table and includes a swing arm on each side of the table. The cutter frame further includes a mandrel attached between the swing arms of the movable re-sealer end and the overlay film. Each of the swing arms include an actuator attached thereto, providing rotation of each of the swing arms in a first direction about an axis of the actuator thereby raising the mandrel above the table. The actuators also include a down stop preventing rotation of the swing arm in a second direction thereby establishing a minimum height of the mandrel above the table.
Method of slicing a food item and slicing mechanism employing a gripping element that generates a vacuum grip
A method of processing a food item that includes moving a food item along a direction towards an automated slicer, wherein prior to the food item being sliced by the automated slicer the food item that is being moved has a length, L, as measured along the direction. The method further includes determining a thickness, T, of a slice of the food item to be generated by the automated slicer and slicing the food item that has the length, L, by the automated slicer so that a maximum possible number, N.sub.max, of slices of the food item are generated that have the thickness, T.
Electrode Cutting Apparatus Including Separated Foreign Matter Removal Unit
The present invention relates to an electrode cutting apparatus including a separated foreign matter removal unit capable of immediately removing separated foreign matter generated at the time of electrode cutting through a blow unit and a suction unit configured to be repeatedly operated and stopped according to an electrode cutting operation in order to remove separated foreign matter generated when the electrode cutting apparatus performs electrode cutting.
Manufacturing method and manufacturing apparatus for disposable wearable article
In order to manufacture a wearable article of the first size, the introduction velocity is set to the first introduction velocity having a high velocity and the arrangement velocity is set to the first the arrangement velocity having a high velocity. In order to manufacture wearable article of the second size having a shorter length in the carrying direction than that of the first size, the introduction velocity is set to the second introduction velocity lower than the first introduction velocity and the arrangement velocity is set to the second arrangement velocity lower than the first the arrangement velocity and the drum velocity is set to a fixed velocity regardless of the size.
