A cutting apparatus includes a blade configured to cut a sheet that is conveyed along a sheet conveyance path, a scrap path through which scrap generated when the sheet is cut by the blade passes, a guide member configured to guide the sheet conveyed, and a blowing unit configured to blow air such that the air crosses the sheet conveyance path from a side opposite the scrap path with the sheet conveyance path therebetween, wherein the blowing unit blows air such that the air flows along the guide member positioned at a second position at which the scrap is allowed to enter the scrap path.

Trimmer

The trimmer includes: a pusher 2 that pushes the bound material 1; a pusher moving device that moves the pusher; a positioning part 111 that positions the bound material pushed by the pusher; an allowable position memory that memorizes an allowable position range relevant to the pusher; an allowable reaction force memory that memorizes an allowable reaction force range relevant to the pusher; and a determiner that determines whether a length of the bound material is normal or abnormal. The determiner determines that: the length L of the bound material is normal; or the length L of the bound material is abnormal.

Method for operating a device for carrying out cutting operations on open format edges of a printed product
10639809 · 2020-05-05 · ·

A method is for operating a device for carrying out cutting operations on an open format edge of a printed product. The device is operatively connected to a feed apparatus for the first cutting operation and to a removal apparatus which operates after the final cutting operation. The printed product is transferred from a first cutting location, at which the cutting operation for a first format edge is carried out, to a second cutting location, at which the cutting operation for a second format edge takes place. Once the cutting operation is complete at the second cutting location, the printed product is transferred to a third cutting location, at which the cutting operation for a third format edge takes place. The printed product is transferred among the cutting locations by a transport unit that grips the printed product by the spine to convey the product in a suspended manner.

A device for carrying out cutting operations on an open format edge of a printed product is operatively connected to a feed apparatus for the first cutting operation and to a removal apparatus which operates after the final cutting operation. The device comprises a cutting apparatus configured to carry out each edge-based cutting operation. The printed product is moveable from a first cutting location, at which the cutting operation for a first format edge takes place, to a second cutting location, at which the cutting operation for a second format edge takes place, after which, the printed product is transferable to a third cutting location, at which the cutting operation for a third format edge takes place. The printed product is transferable by a transport unit having a device by which the printed product is gripped by the spine and is conveyable in a suspended manner.

Printed unit block aligning device and printed unit block aligning method
10549943 · 2020-02-04 · ·

A printed unit block aligning device includes a supporting element and an alignment transfer rail. The supporting element is opened and closed between a supporting position and a releasing position. The alignment transfer rail receives the group of the printed unit blocks dropped in response to move of the supporting element to the releasing position, aligns the printed unit blocks in each line unit block in a vertical direction, and feeds the printed unit blocks vertically at a constant speed using alignment transferring element. An electrical controlling element is provided that electrically controls timing of dropping the printed unit blocks from the supporting element onto the alignment transfer rail. While a speed of transfer of the horizontal feeding and transferring element are uniform for any imposition structure, the electrical controlling element controls timing of dropping the printed unit blocks in a manner that depends on the numbers of layers in each vertical line in different imposition structures.

Mini punch

A system for punching at least one hole in at least one sheet-like material. In particular, a device and system that is uniquely configured and sized to be a table top unit for automatic punching of paper. The system has a sheet feeder, a sheet transport module and a punching die module that allows a punching die to be easily changed. The paper being punched by the punching die module is moved only a short distance from the sheet feeder and while the paper is still supported by the sheet feeder. The sheet feeder is located outside the system's housing to facilitate adjustment and troubleshooting. This advantageously allows for a smaller, compact unit that is effective and efficient.

A PRINT FINISHING MACHINE

MODULAR COMB ELEMENT FOR A MACHINE FOR AUTOMATIC CUTTING OF A MAT OF SHEETS OF MATERIAL

A modular comb element for a machine for automatically cutting a mat of sheets of material. The cutting machine includes a plurality of cutting supports. The comb element includes a plate forming a support from which a first and a second row of teeth extend longitudinally. The teeth of the first row alternate with the teeth of the second row, and a free end of the teeth of the first row are farther from a downstream edge of the support than a free end of the teeth of the second row of teeth. A ramp is mounted on the downstream edge of the support and inclined with respect to the latter so as to limit the contact surface between the mat of sheets and the comb element. Air injection means are at a downstream edge of the ramp over an entire width thereof.

Cardboard box dividing device and cardboard box production device

A cardboard box dividing device and a cardboard box production device are provided with: lower conveyors on which a plurality of connected cardboard box bodies are stacked and transported; a pressing device pressing the plurality of connected cardboard box bodies stacked on the lower conveyors from above; a cutting knife disposed along a width direction of the connected cardboard box bodies and dividing the plurality of connected cardboard box bodies stacked on the lower conveyors into a front part and a rear part; and a lifting/lowering device lifting and lowering the lower conveyors and the pressing device.
