Orthopaedic implant and method for manufacturing such an orthopaedic implant
This orthopedic implant includes a polymer substrate with an outer surface intended to be secured to a bone tissue. The outer surface is covered with metal particles including titanium. The particles include large primary particles and small secondary particles. The primary particles and the secondary particles are evenly distributed over the outer surface.
FUNCTIONALIZING NANOFIBRES
Methods for functionalizing the surface of nanofiber substrates, including electrospun fibres and non-woven or woven mats of fibres are described. Functionalised nanofiber substrates presenting biologically active moieties such as biotin and saccharides are described.
SKIN COMPATIBLE COMPOSITION
A skin compatible component attachable to mammalian skin. The component is formed as a silicone matrix comprising a polyorganosiloxane derived silicone polymer and moisture control particulate distributed within the polymer network being configured to absorb moisture from the skin. The skin compatible component may be utilised as an ostomy wafer or flange to secure an ostomy appliance to the skin and in particular peri-skin.
Ostomy device with a switchable adhesive layer located between a backing layer and an absorbent adhesive layer
An ostomy device has a switchable adhesive layer located between a backing layer and an absorbent adhesive layer. The switchable adhesive layer has a photoinitiator reactive to visible light and the absorbent adhesive layer is a skin-facing layer having absorbent particles.
Ostomy device
The present invention relates to an ostomy device for contacting a stoma. The present invention also relates to the use of an ostomy device for contacting a stoma and a kit of parts for preparing an ostomy assembly or system.
Adhesive wafer with a neutralizer matrix
An adhesive wafer (10) for an ostomy device, the wafer comprising a skin-facing adhesive layer (40), a backing layer (30) on the non-skin-facing side of the adhesive layer, and a hole (60) for accommodating a stoma. On the central portion of the backing layer is located a release layer (110) being configured to release a neutralizer. The neutralizer is capable of neutralizing or at least minimizing the level of skin or adhesive aggressiveness of the output.
COMPOSITION FOR USE IN WOUND DRESSINGS
A composition comprising an acrylic adhesive, a thermoplastic absorbent polymer, and a gelling agent, a wound dressing comprising said composition, methods of making said composition and wound dressing, and the uses of said composition and wound dressings for treatment of wounds and/or for securement of devices to the skin.
MOISTURE SWITCHABLE ADHESIVE COMPOSITION COMPRISING A POLYMER AND A SWITCH INITIATOR
Disclosed is a moisture switchable adhesive composition including a polymer and a switch initiator. The composition can be switched from a first liquid state to a second adhesive state by activation of the switch initiator. The composition has in the first liquid state a complex viscosity |η*| below 0.4 MPa s; and the composition has in the second adhesive state a second repeated peel force above 1 N/25 mm.
