Method for applying an adhesive

Disclosed is a method for applying an adhesive composition to the skin of a user and for removing the adhesive composition from the skin. The method includes the steps of providing an adhesive composition including a switchable adhesive; applying the adhesive composition to the skin; exposing the switchable adhesive to a first switch activator, thereby switching the switchable adhesive from an application state to a wear state; exposing the switchable adhesive to a second switch activator, thereby switching the switchable adhesive from the wear state to a removal state; and removing the adhesive composition from the skin of the user.

SKIN COMPATIBLE COMPOSITION

Methods for functionalizing the surface of nanofiber substrates, including electrospun fibers and non-woven or woven mats of fibers are described. Functionalized nanofiber substrates presenting biologically active moieties such as biotin and saccharides are described.

KIT COMPRISING ADHESIVE HYDROGEL AND IMPREGNATING FLUID

A kit of parts including two components, the first component being a patch including a non-degradable synthetic hydrogel and the second component being an impregnating fluid, which, upon in-situ polymerisation, anchors the patch on a tissue. The patch may include additional layers including sensing components or therapeutic components. In addition, the use of the kit of parts and the use of an impregnating fluid in surgery, in particular as suture or staple supports, e.g. suture or staple supports in the abdominal region such as intestinal anastomosis sites, or for sealing of artificial stoma.

AN ADHESIVE COMPOSITION

Moisture-curable adhesive compositions, their preparation and use are disclosed herein. The moisture-curable adhesive compositions include one or more reactive polymers, such as reactive silicone polymers, one or more adhesive components, such as a silicone pressure sensitive polymer(s) (PSAs), a cross-linker and a catalyst. Typically, the reactive silicone polymer or polymers are hydroxyl terminated polydimethylsiloxanes (PDMS) having at least two hydroxyl functionalities associated with the polymer(s).

PATCH COMPRISING SENSING COMPONENTS

A patch for detecting by at least one non-invasive imaging technique a leak of a biological fluid at an application site, wherein the patch includes either a layer including one or more first portions containing a first gel, one or more second portions containing a second gel and at least one sensing component embedded within the first gel and/or the second gel, or a layer containing a hydrogel and at least one sensing component, such as aerogel particles, and xerogel particles, embedded within the hydrogel.

Hydrophobic adhesive with absorbent fibers

The disclosed hydrophobic adhesive composition comprises a hydrophobic adhesive matrix and water absorbent fibers dispersed throughout the adhesive matrix to provide water management capabilities to the adhesive composition. The disclosed adhesive composition can adhered to a variety of surfaces, such as skin, and will easily remove from the surface. Therefore, the disclosed adhesive is particularly well suitable for application to skin wherein the absorbent fiber can absorb perspiration, water, or wound fluid from skin.
