Apparatus for producing microporous plastic film
An apparatus for producing a microporous plastic film comprising a pattern roll having large numbers of high-hardness, fine particles; an anvil roll opposing the pattern roll; a conveying means for passing a plastic film through a gap of both rolls; a stationary frame rotatably supporting one of both rolls; a pair of laterally arranged movable frames rotatably supporting the other roll; and a pair of laterally arranged carriages to each of which each of the movable frames is fixed; at least one of the carriages moving in a running direction of the plastic film to generate positional difference between a pair of the movable frames, so that the center axes of both rolls are relatively inclined to each other.

Apparatus and method for cutting or perforating a paper web
An apparatus and a method for processing a digitally printed-on paper web, conveyed continuously through the apparatus includes a perforating tool for perforating the paper web transverse to its movement direction, and a cutting tool for cutting print sheets from a downstream end of the paper web. The tools are attached spaced-apart to a tool carrier which can be moved to two operating positions in which respectively one of the tools can be made to engage with a counter tool on a rotating cutting drum.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ADJUSTING AND MAINTAINING A POSITION OF A CUTTING SURFACE OF A PERFORATING APPARATUS
The present disclosure relates to adjusting and maintaining a position of a cutting surface used to create lines of weakness for rolled products. A perforating apparatus includes a housing rotatably supported by a frame, wherein the housing is adapted to rotate about a first axis. A support member including a first cutting surface is rotatably supported by the housing, wherein the support member is adapted to rotate about a second axis offset from the first axis. A roll including a second cutting surface is positioned adjacent the support member, wherein the roll is adapted to rotate about a third axis. The second cutting surface is adapted to contact the first cutting surface as the roll rotates about the third axis. The perforating apparatus is configured such that the functions of adjusting the position of the first cutting surface and holding the first cutting surface in a fixed position are separate.

Sanitary tissue product with a shaped line of weakness
A web of toilet tissue that includes a shaped line of weakness, wherein the toilet tissue exhibits a LWP Factor of greater than about 7, and an average Free Fiber End value of greater than about 1.5.
Slitting machine
A slitting machine for removing a strip from a sheet of material. The slitting machine has a blade assembly with first and second cutting blades, and a perforating blade arranged between the first and second cutting blades. The first and second cutting blades are arranged to cut the sheet of material to define the strip and the perforating blade is arranged to perforate the sheet of material to define an end of the strip.
Method for perforating a nonlinear line of weakness
A method for providing a nonlinear line of weakness on a web material includes: providing a counter component comprising a nonlinear shape, where the nonlinear shape has a shape width, W; providing a blade in operative relationship with the counter component and comprising a plurality of teeth; rotating at least one of the blade and the counter component into interacting relationship with the other of the blade and the counter component; feeding a web between the counter component and the blade such that while in interacting relationship the blade cooperates with the counter component to perforate the web, wherein the web is moving in a machine direction; and reciprocally shifting one of the counter component and the blade for a distance, D, in a shifting direction, wherein D is at least the translational distance that one tooth travels to cover the shape width, W.
