CUTTING UNIT FOR THE CUTTING OF A SUBSTRATE BAND FOR AN AEROSOL-GENERATING DEVICE AND RELATED CUTTING ASSEMBLY
A cutting unit for the cutting of a substrate band for an aerosol-generating device, and a related cutting assembly, wherein the substrate band has a longitudinally-extending axis and wherein the cutting unit comprises: feed means for feeding the substrate band along a feed direction parallel to the extension axis; a cutting head comprising a cutting edge having a closed profile for cutting a substrate portion from the substrate band, which cutting head is movable in a movement direction transversal to the feed direction between a cutting position, in which it cuts the substrate portion, and a release position, in which it releases the substrate portion; and conveying means, which are arranged and shaped so as to receive the substrate portion from the cutting head when the cutting head is in the release position, and convey the substrate portion towards an output section.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR GENERATING FIDUCIAL VIA DIE CUTTING
Methods and apparatuses for generating fiducials via die cutting are provided. Laterally arranged die cutting members and fiducial-making members are provided onto a roller to respectively cut a first pattern and a fiducial mark on the same side of a web in a rotatory die cutting process. The fiducial mark is used to register a second pattern provided by a downstream station to the first pattern.
COMPOSITE ARTICLE ASSEMBLY SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A composite article assembly arrangement includes mechanized assembly station tooling for supporting certain composite article assembly methodologies with a view toward a preferred lid assembly application. First assembly station tooling includes a stationary main base plate, opposed intermediate compactor plates, and opposed outer plates, which compactor plates and outer plates are movable relative to the stationary main base plate. One or more continuous webs bearing thermoformed first and second workpieces are directed through the mechanized assembly station tooling, which operates to both separate the first and second workpieces from the web(s) as directed therethrough and assemble the first and second workpieces in one clapping movement of the compactor plates and outer plates relative to the main base plate. Alternative assembly station tooling operates to direct first composite elements into assembled relation with stationary second composite elements for forming basic composites to which successive composite elements are similarly added.
Sandwich Crimper
An objective of the apparatus is to enable users to cut, seal, and crimp a sandwich. The apparatus is a sandwich maker that can apply pressure from both sides of the sandwich while sealing and crimping the sandwich, so as to make a perfectly rounded and spill proof sandwich. Additionally, the apparatus includes alignment pointers that enable users to create a crimped sandwich with perfectly crimped edges. Further, the apparatus includes multiple pieces and shapes that serve specific purposes and gives users the option to use them mutually exclusively. Furthermore, each of the different pieces of the apparatus have aesthetically appealing shapes and air gaps in the center, which enables users to release the sandwich easily.
SOFT TUBE GRIPPER FOR PUNCHING
A gripper for gripping a tube for punching may include a first arm having a lower portion and an upper portion disposed outwardly from an upper surface of the lower portion. The upper portion extends to opposite first and second side surfaces and opposite third and fourth side surfaces, where opposite edges of the first and second side surfaces each meet an edge of one of the opposite third and fourth side surfaces. The second side surface includes a groove extending from the second side surface towards the first side surface and along a length of the second side surface. The groove is configured to receive at least a portion of a tube when a second arm like the first arm is disposed adjacent to and aligned with the first arm.
Concentric Abrasive Disc Punch
According to some embodiments, an abrasive disc punch comprises: a bottom plate; a top plate parallel to the bottom plate and coupled to the bottom plate via guide pins; springs coupled between the bottom plate and the top plate; a punch coupled to the top plate; and a cutting block coupled to the bottom plate. The cutting block comprises a cutting edge that is aligned coaxially with the punch. The abrasive disc punch further comprises a trim cushion coupled to the cutting block via a spring. The trim cushion is positioned within the cutting edge of the cutting block and comprises a flat horizontal top portion. In an open position the two or more springs separate the top plate and punch from the bottom plate and the cutting block, and the flat horizontal top portion of the trim cushion is positioned above the cutting edge of the cutting block.
Separating Apparatus and Separating Method for Adhesive-Containing Composite Material
The invention relates to an apparatus comprising a separating tool and comprising a counterpressure plate for producing contour geometries adhesive-containing composite materials, wherein the separating tool can be moved in translational tool stroke directions between an inoperative position and a parting position normal to the counterpressure plate, and also to a method for producing contour geometries in adhesive-containing composite materials by means of an apparatus of this kind. The separating tool and the counterpressure plate f can be actuated relative to one another by means of at least one actuator in at least one excitation direction with a ramp function and/or with a jump function. Each of these excitation directions lies in a parallel plane to a cutting edge plane of the separating tool. The present invention permits reliable separation of a stamped grid from laminate sections which remain on a carrier film.
Device for cutting artificial anus protection plate
A device for cutting an artificial anus protection plate includes a protection plate support part that supports the artificial anus protection plate, a guide rod screw-coupled to a coupling rod in a lengthwise direction of the coupling rod, and a cutting part that cuts the artificial anus protection plate at a preset diameter.
Cutter having varied cavity draft angle
There is provided a cutter or mold having at least one sidewall defining a cavity, wherein the cavity draft angle varies. In some embodiments, the cutter may also include a base, i.e., the cutter can be a mold. The cutter or mold exhibits better release properties of food products molded or cut therewith than conventional cutters or molds having no cavity draft angle, or a uniform cavity draft angle. Rotary cutting wheels, that in some embodiments may be ultrasonically activated, as well as systems incorporating the cutters or molds are also provided, as are methods of forming food products using the cutters or molds.
Cutting assembly including clamping assembly
An assembly includes a punch and a clamping assembly. The punch includes a body having a front end and a rear end. The front end has a cutting edge. A passageway extends through the body and a counterbore is provided proximate to a second end of the body. The clamping assembly includes first and second jaws pivotally attached to each other. Each jaw includes a main body having a nose extending from a front surface thereof. The nose has an outer surface which has a diameter which is smaller than the outer diameter of the main body. When the clamping assembly is mated with the punch, the noses seat within the counterbore, and the front surfaces of the main bodies engage against the rear end of the body of the punch.
