METAL COATING METHOD FOR PLASTIC OUTER SHAPE REQUIRING ROBUSTNESS
This application relates to a metal coating method for plastic outer part requiring robustness. In the metal coating method, first, provide a plastic outer part as a motion assistance tool. Thereafter, a cold plasma treatment is performed to introduce a polar functional group to a surface of the plastic outer part by treating the plastic outer part with cold plasma. Next, a metal coating layer is formed on the surface of the plastic outer part treated with the cold plasma by an electroless plating method. Thereafter, an adhesive strength improvement process of improving an adhesive strength between the metal coating layer and the plastic outer part to 1,000 g/cm.sup.2 or more by heat treatment of the plastic outer part with the metal coating layer thereon is performed.
ENDOSCOPIC COATING COMPOSITION, ENDOSCOPIC LUBRICATING MEMBER, METHOD FOR PRODUCING ENDOSCOPIC LUBRICATING MEMBER, ENDOSCOPIC FLEXIBLE TUBE, AND ENDOSCOPE
An endoscopic coating composition including a solid lubricant, a fluorine-containing surfactant, a thermosetting resin, and a solvent, a lubricating member provided by a coating treatment using the coating composition and being suitable as an endoscopic member, a method for producing the lubricating member, and an endoscopic flexible tube and an endoscope including the lubricating member.
MATERIAL COMPOSITIONS, APPARATUS AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING COMPOSITES FOR MEDICAL IMPLANTS OR MANUFACTURING OF IMPLANT PRODUCT, AND PRODUCTS OF THE SAME
A coated powder composite may include a core particle of Ca or an alloy thereof, or of Mg or an alloy thereof. One or more coating layers may be disposed about the core particle, cladding the core particle. The coated powder composite may be biodegradable.
HYDROXYAPATITE BASED COMPOSITES AND FILMS THEREOF
This invention is directed to composites and films comprising hydroxyapatite, biodegradable polymer, a biocompatible surfactant with inorganic fullerene-like (IF) nanoparticles or inorganic nanotubes (INT); methods of preparation and uses thereof.
Elastomeric leaflet for prosthetic heart valves
A leaflet for a prosthetic valve formed of at least one layer that includes a composite material containing at least one expanded fluoropolymer membrane having serpentine fibrils and an elastomer is provided. The fluoropolymer may be polytetrafluoroethylene. In at least one embodiment, the elastic properties are present in an axial direction the leaflet. The leaflets may be single layered or multi-layered. The leaflets may be coupled to a support structure and movable between open and closed configurations relative to the support structure to form a heart valve. The elasticity within the leaflets permits, among other things, the leaflets to bend with a reduced occurrence of wrinkles as the valve opens and closes. The elastic properties of the leaflet also, among other things, improve bending properties and reduce closure stresses, thereby extending the life of the leaflet.
METHODS OF MAKING DURABLE MULTI-LAYER HIGH STRENGTH POLYMER COMPOSITE SUITABLE FOR IMPLANT AND ARTICLES PRODUCED THEREFROM
A thin, biocompatible, high-strength, composite material is disclosed that is suitable for use in various implanted configurations. The composite material maintains flexibility in high-cycle flexural applications, making it particularly applicable to high-flex implants such as heart pacing lead or heart valve leaflet. The composite material includes at least one porous expanded fluoropolymer layer.
Polytetrafluoroethylene co-polymer emulsions
The present disclosure is directed to a class of fluorinated copolymers, such as a PTFE copolymers, that can be dissolved in low toxicity solvents, such as Class III Solvents, and that enable the creation of stable water-in-solvent emulsions comprising the fluorinated copolymers dissolved in a low toxicity solvents and a hydrophilic agent (e.g., a therapeutic agent) dissolved in an aqueous solvent, such as water or saline.
Orthopaedic implant and method for manufacturing such an orthopaedic implant
This orthopedic implant includes a polymer substrate with an outer surface intended to be secured to a bone tissue. The outer surface is covered with metal particles including titanium. The particles include large primary particles and small secondary particles. The primary particles and the secondary particles are evenly distributed over the outer surface.
MODULAR SURFACE FUNCTIONALIZATION OF POLYISOBUTYLENE-BASED MATERIALS
A polymer composite includes a functionalized polyisobutylene and an additional polyisobutylene-containing material. One or more methods of making the polymer composite are also provided. Where the functionalized polyisobutylene is applied to a polyisobutylene-containing material, the method of applying the functionalized polyisobutylene compound can be described as a modular method.
Multi-component joining of plastic preparations in order to produce medical devices with functional surfaces
A process for producing medical devices with functional surfaces, e.g., ceramic implants having bone-affine surfaces, and to medical devices produced in such a manner.
