The handle is coupled to and extends from the cylinder equally distant from opposing ends of the cylinder. The wedge is coupled to and extends from the cylinder proximate to the handle. The wedge is substantially perpendicular to the handle. The wedge is configured to be positioned beneath a felled log, positioning a user to grasp and pull on the handle to rotate the cylinder to apply a lifting force to the log so that the log is supported upon the handle above a surface. The log thus is positioned to be safely cut by the user using a chain saw, or other log cutting implement.

The device can be attached to trees or vehicles to keep it in place and can be assembled and disassembled with relative ease. The device is configured to hold the logs between two support arms attached to a post and a grip member attached to each of the support arms. The post is configured for attaching to standing trees through extending arms or brackets and configured for position adjustments by way of sliding inside sleeves that attach to the post, bracket or a hitch of a vehicle.

A jack for elevating logs from the ground comprises an elongated pole as a handle lever, the pole having a steel collar surrounding its distal end and terminating in a steel spike. Welded to the collar along an upper surface is a serrated rib. Beneath it is a wheel assembly that serves as a fulcrum. Proximal of the collar is a clamp for fastening a T-shaped stand to the pole. An adjustment bar is welded to the collar and to the clamp, the adjustment bar having a plurality of longitudinally spaced apertures extending therethrough. An arcuate claw member with a tooth at its distal end has its opposite end fastened by a shoulder bolt as a pivot to the adjustment bar at a selected one of the aperture locations to accommodate logs of different circumferences.

A timberjack including a handle, and a jacking stand coupled to the handle, the jacking stand comprising a first portion and a second portion, wherein the first portion is arranged to engage the ground, and wherein the second portion is coupled to the first portion and extends downwardly from the handle to elevate a portion of the handle from the ground.
