TREATED POROUS MATERIAL
A treated cellulosic material comprising a cellulosic material having a porous structure defining a plurality of pores, the cellulosic material comprising wood including wood or wood composite materials, at least a portion of the pores containing the reaction product of one or more of the following: a water soluble polyol, an epoxy-containing resin, a catalyst or curing agent, and the cellulosic material. A method for preparing a treated cellulosic material comprising providing a cellulosic material; a first treatment protocol comprising impregnating the cellulosic material with a water-soluble polyol; and a second treatment protocol comprising impregnating the cellulosic material with an epoxy-containing resin.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PRODUCING AN ENGINEERED WOOD
The present invention relates to a method for producing an engineered wood, comprising the steps of: (a) breaking down a veneer to increase its porosity; (b) impregnating the veneer from step (a) with an adhesive material; (c) drying the veneer from step (b) to a predetermined moisture content level; (d) arranging a plurality of the veneers from step (c) in a mould; and (e) pressing the plurality of the veneers in the mould. The engineered wood has an appearance of natural timber, and is able to withstand extreme weather conditions and have minimum warping, rotting and termite infestation.

Method of producing a thermally modified and impregnated wooden product
A method of producing a thermally modified and impregnated wooden product is described herein. One or more pieces of wood are thermally modified. The thermally modified wood is formed into a wooden object by hand, tool, machine, a computer numerical controlled machine, or combinations thereof. The wooden object is then impregnated with one or more treatment agents to produce the thermally modified and impregnated wooden product. The wooden object is impregnated by applying pressure or heat while the object is in the presence of the one or more treatment agents. Minimal, if any, deformation of the thermally modified wooden object occurs during impregnation.
PRESERVATIVE COMPOSITION FOR WOOD BASED ON MODIFIED LIGNIN
A method for preparing a wood preservative composition, includes modifying lignin with Na.sub.2B.sub.4O.sub.7 or NaNO.sub.3 and then with a chromium (II) salt, copper (II), cadmium (II) or zinc (II), for example, metal nitrates (Cr(NO.sub.3).sub.2, Cu(NO.sub.3).sub.2, Cd(NO.sub.3).sub.2, Zn(NO.sub.3).sub.2); to the preservative obtainable by this method; and to a method for preserving wood; and to the preserved wood. The preservative prevents degradation by xylophagous and fungal agents, and also improves some properties of the wood, and the hygroscopicity and fire resistance.
Treatment of wood with aldehyde and isocyanate
A method of treating wood includes subjecting the wood to a vacuum environment, and thereafter contacting the wood under positive pressure with an aldehyde and an isocyanate, both the aldehyde and the isocyanate being in liquid form.

Treated porous material
The present disclosure describes a treated cellulosic material comprising a cellulosic material having a porous structure defining a plurality of pores, at least a portion of the pores containing a treating agent comprising a polymer, the polymer comprising a polyurethane polymer. The present disclosure further describes a method for preparing a treated cellulosic material comprising providing a cellulosic material; and a first treatment protocol comprising impregnating the cellulosic material with an aqueous dispersion comprising a polymer, the polymer comprising a polyurethane polymer; and a second treatment protocol comprising impregnating the cellulosic material with a modifying agent, the modifying agent comprising a hydrophobic amine.
MODIFIED WOOD PRODUCT
A method of producing a modified wood product is disclosed. The method comprises heating a resin impregnated wood product in a reactor, the resin impregnated wood product comprising source wood impregnated with a resin composition comprising resin, the heating being so as to substantially cure the resin, thereby to produce the modified wood product. The method comprises, during the heating of the resin impregnated wood product in the reactor, introducing water into the reactor. A reactor and a modified wood product are also disclosed.
WOOD-ENCASED PENCIL
A description is given of a wood-encased pencil comprising a casing and a core, the casing consisting of wood material impregnated with a saccharide component, the saccharide component comprising at least one mono-, di- or oligosaccharide and at least one polybasic organic acid in solution in a vehicle.
