A medical waste collection system for collecting medical waste material, and a manifold for filtering the waste material and/or coupling a suction tube to the system. The system may include a receiver in which the manifold is configured to be inserted in a proximal direction to facilitate an inlet mechanism moving correspondingly in the distal direction. The manifold may include an arm, a spine, a lock element, and/or a catch each having a surface with a relative position in the proximal-to-distal direction. The rim and the catch may be spaced apart by a void, and the rim may be positioned below the catch. The housing may include a body portion, a first leg extending proximally from the body portion, and a second leg spaced apart from the first leg to define the void. The rim may be on the first leg, and the catch may be on the second leg.

Negative-pressure oral apparatus and method for maintaining negative oral pressure and collecting liquid

The present invention discloses a negative-pressure oral apparatus capable of relieving discomfort of soft tissues in the oral cavity and improving fixation of the oral apparatus to prevent the oral apparatus from falling off due to mouth opening. The oral apparatus is compact and elastic so that it fits various shapes and sizes of the oral cavity and is easy to be put on and taken off to provide convenience and safety to the user. In another embodiment, a method for maintaining a negative oral pressure and collecting liquid by coupling the oral apparatus to a liquid collecting apparatus capable of effectively providing the oral cavity with a negative pressure to expel liquid in the oral apparatus and deliver the liquid to an absorbing element in the liquid collecting apparatus so as to prevent liquid leakage or contamination.

Cassette Including Plural Catch Trays For Retaining Plural Tissue Samples From A Fluid Stream

A cassette for retrieving plural tissue samples from a fluid stream. The cassette includes a bypass conduit and plural voids. A catch tray is removably seated in each of the voids. A fitting extends from the cassette. The cassette has an outlet opening through which a suction is drawn. The cassette also has a valve. The valve directs the fluid stream from the fitting so the fluid stream flows through the bypass conduit or through one of the voids in which a catch tray is seated.

Disclosed are saliva collection containers comprising a removable cartridge containing a liquid absorbent material, the removable cartridge adapted to receive saliva from a user; a suction source removably disposed therein and fluidly coupled to the removable cartridge, wherein the saliva collection container is adapted to receive the removable cartridge; and a tubing having a first end and second end opposite of the first end, wherein the first end of the tubing is fluidly coupled to the suction source through an opening in the neck of the saliva collection container. Disclosed are saliva collection containers comprising a cartridge containing a liquid absorbent material, the cartridge adapted to fit inside a tubing; a tubing having a first end and second end opposite of the first end, wherein the first end of the tubing is fluidly coupled to the suction source; wherein the tubing is adapted to receive the cartridge; and a suction source removably disposed therein and fluidly coupled to the tubing.

Catheter Assembly for Blood Clots Removal
20230240694 · 2023-08-03 · ·

An endovascular catheter has an elongate catheter body having a distal portion, a proximal portion, multiple transition portions and a central lumen extending longitudinally through the catheter body. The catheter has a hybrid reinforcement, an angulated radiopaque marker and an angulated distal tip to improve the catheter’s ability to navigate vasculature and to improve clot aspiration.

ASPIRATION CATHETERS HAVING GROOVED INNER SURFACES, AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS

Disclosed herein are aspiration catheters having grooved inner surfaces for removing clot material from the vasculature of a patient, and associated systems and methods. In some embodiments, an aspiration catheter can include a proximal terminus, a distal terminus, and an inner surface defining a lumen. The inner surface includes at least one groove formed therein and that extends from the distal terminus at least partially toward the proximal terminus. When clot material is aspirated through the aspiration catheter, the at least one groove can provide a leak path past the clot material to improve the ingestion of the clot material through the catheter and inhibit clogging.

Suction device and dressing

Some embodiments are directed to a system 10 for the application of topical negative pressure therapy to a site 18 on the body of a mammal. Some embodiments of the system 10 comprise a piston 22 and cylinder 24 device 12 having a self-contained power source for the generation of a reduced pressure and for aspirating the site 18. Some embodiments of the system 10 comprise a dressing 14 sealably surrounding the site 18 that can be operably connected to the device 12 by a conduit means 16 to apply the reduced pressure to the site 18.

System and method for locating fluid leaks at a drape of a reduced pressure delivery system

A system and method for performing tissue therapy may include applying a reduced pressure to a tissue site, sensing a fluid parameter being applied to the tissue site, generating a fluid sensor signal in response to sensing the fluid parameter, and altering the fluid sensor signal in response to sensing that the fluid parameter changes. A fluid leak location mode may be entered. In response to the fluid leak location mode being entered, a graphical user interface that provides for fluid leak location functionality may be displayed. In one embodiment, the fluid leak location mode may be automatically entered in response to the sensor signal crossing a threshold value. Additionally, an alarm signal may be generated in response to determining that the fluid sensor signal crosses the threshold value.
