Reduced-pressure systems and methods employing an ultraviolet light source for reducing bioburden

Systems and methods are provided for moving fluids from a patient to a canister and lowering or eliminating the bio-burden of the canister. In one instance, a method for removing fluids from a patient includes using reduced pressure to remove fluids from a patient, delivering the fluids into a reduced-pressure conduit and into a fluid reservoir, exposing the fluids removed from the patient to a UV light source to kill pathogens to create disposable fluids, and disposing of the disposable fluids. Other systems, devices, and methods are presented.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR ESTABLISHING AN ARTIFICIAL ARTERIO-VENOUS FISTULA

A shunt rivet for implantation between a first body space and a second body space in a patient, such as to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

A method of preparing adipose tissue for transplantation, from lobular fat extracted, for instance, by liposuction, said fat consisting of a fluid component comprising an oily component, a blood component and/or sterile solutions and of a solid component comprising cell fragments, cells and one or more cell macroagglomerates of heterogeneous size, characterized in that it includes at least one step of washing the cell aggregates carried out at the same time as a step of separating the fluid component, in emulsion form, from the solid component.

Device and method for preparing adipose tissue for transplantation

A device for preparing adipose tissue for transplantation, from lobular fat extracted, for instance, by liposuction. The device comprises at least one washing and separating container (1) having a washing chamber (11) for washing the liposuctioned material, which washing and separating container (1) has at least one inlet (12) and at least one outlet (13) for the liposuctioned material to enter the washing chamber (11) through the inlet (12) and for at least part of said material, the fluid component, to exit said chamber 11 through the outlet 13. The washing and separating container (1) is coupled to stirring means via coupling means (2) for releasably coupling said washing and separating container (1) to said stirring means, drive means being provided for driving said stirring means. The stirring means comprising a stirring member (31) supported by a support structure (32), said washing and separating container (1) being releasably coupled to said stirring member (31) via said coupling means, and said stirring member (31) being driven by said drive means, emulsion generating means (14) being provided in said washing chamber (11), for generating an emulsion of the fluid components by mechanical stirring.

SMALL VOLUME TISSUE PROCESSING DEVICES
20190125971 · 2019-05-02 ·

The present disclosure provides systems and methods for processing small volumes of tissue. The systems and methods include an interior fill volume and an exterior wash volume separated by a filter. Waste and fluids pass through the filter during tissue washing and transfer and can be absorbed or removed by application of negative pressure. The systems and methods are more portable and require fewer transfer steps than conventional methods, thus simplifying tissue processing procedures.

Wound Drain With Fluid Management

A treatment system for applying negative pressure to a tissue site in conjunction with a venting or purging capability. In some embodiments, the treatment system may include a reduced-pressure source, an inline storage pouch, a purge chamber, and a dressing. Reduced-pressure may be supplied to the inline storage pouch and the dressing, while the purge chamber may provide a ventilation opening to the atmosphere.

Device and method for establishing an artificial arterio-venous fistula

A shunt rivet for implantation between a first body space and a second body space in a patient, such as to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

CONFORMABLE NEGATIVE-PRESSURE THERAPY DEVICE

A negative-pressure therapy device includes a formed front layer, a pump, a pressure transducer, a formed rear layer, an exhaust port, a negative-pressure port, and an atmospheric pressure measurement port. The pump has a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet. The pressure transducer is fluidly coupled to the ambient environment and the pump. The formed rear layer is configured to be coupled to the formed front layer to form an interior space having the pressure transducer and the pump disposed therein. The exhaust port is fluidly coupled to the fluid outlet of the pump. The negative-pressure port is fluidly coupled to the fluid inlet of the pump.

FLUID COLLECTION

An apparatus and method for collecting fluid are disclosed. The apparatus includes a body portion comprising a fluid inlet and an outlet, an expandable container secured to the body portion, at least one wicking element extending from within the body portion into the container, and at least one super absorber element arranged inside the container.
