Liquid-gas separator
A method and system for separating a flow of matter is shown and described. The system includes one or more flow separation devices, one or more surgical instruments, and one or more suction sources. In some embodiments, the flow of matter comprises biological material. In some embodiments, the flow of matter comprises surgical waste.
SUCTION HEAD FOR GENTLY SUCKING OFF THIXOTROPIC LIQUIDS
A suction head for sucking off a liquid containing organic components comprises an inner surface defining a main channel of the suction head. The main channel extends along a main axis of the suction head towards a suction connection of the suction head. Further, the suction head comprises suction holes entering into the suction head and feeding through the inner surface into the main channel, and flow-guiding devices. The flow guiding devices are configured for imparting a rotational component about the main axis on a flow of the liquid through the main channel, when the flow of the liquid which gets into the suction head through the suction holes is brought about by a negative pressure in the suction connection.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR HARVESTING AUTOLOGOUS ADIPOSE TISSUE
A triple-chambered container includes: a main container body with a first chamber which has an opening at its distal end; a main barrel formed and movable longitudinally within the first chamber, the main barrel defining therein a second chamber for receiving fluids, the main barrel further having an apertured stopper at its distal end; a second barrel formed within the main barrel, the second barrel defining a third chamber for receiving fluids, the second barrel being movable longitudinally within and with respect to the main barrel, the second barrel having a distal end which is engageable and disengageable with the apertured stopper; a shaft adapted to fit within the second barrel, the shaft being movable longitudinally within and with respect to the second barrel, the shaft having a distal end which is engageable and disengageable with an aperture in the second barrel; a device for controlling engaging and disengaging of the distal end of the shaft with the aperture of the second barrel. The first chamber, the second chamber and the third chamber may be selectively moved to receive and discharge fluids with respect to one another.
Method for preparing tissue, particularly adipose tissue, for transplantation from lobular fat extracted by liposuction
A method of preparing adipose tissue for transplantation, from lobular fat extracted, for instance, by liposuction, the fat including a fluid component that also includes an oily component, a blood component and/or sterile solutions and of a solid component that includes cell fragments, cells and one or more cell macroagglomerates of heterogeneous size, characterized in that it includes at least one step of forming an emulsion of the fluid component in the sterile washing solution by active and/or passive stirring and discharging the emulsion from the outlet through a density gradient.
Multi-orientation fluid management
Apparatuses for multi-orientation fluid management are described. In some example embodiments, an apparatus for managing fluids may comprise an absorbent core and one or more layers of a fluid acquisition and manifolding material. The fluid acquisition and manifolding material can provide a shell or envelope for capturing the fluid and distributing it to the absorbent core for storage. The manifolding material can distribute fluid as the absorbent core swells. The apparatus may additionally include an exudate container providing a casing for the absorbent core and the fluid acquisition and manifolding layers.
Portable device with disposable reservoir for collection of internal fluid after surgery from a plurality of sites simultaneously
A system, method, and apparatus for the collection of surgical/wound fluid from a subject patient with the capability of simultaneous fluid removal from a plurality of such wounds and/or wound through the utilization of a single pump device worn by such a patient. Such a system, method, and apparatus allow for such a single pump device to collect surgical/wound fluid within a single site collection component attached to or associated with such a single pump device. Multiple fluid transfer lines may be incorporated with the single pump device leading to such plurality of wounds and/or wound sites for greater versatility and comfort for the subject patient, as well as cleaner removal capabilities than in the standard apparatus systems and method currently undertaken within the industry.
Bone dust collection cap and plunger assembly
A surgical collection assembly for filtering material from liquid obtained during surgery has a distal plunger plate that is used to compress collected material that is filtered from liquid and entrained materials gathered during surgery. The distal plunger plate needs to be maintained above the collection jar inlet during collection of the liquid and entrained material. This disclosure teaches several ways to reversibly retain the distal plunger plate above the collection jar inlet. Also taught is a drape clamp that can affix the assembly and related tubing to a drape.
DISPOSABLE SURGICAL DRAIN BULB FOR THE SECURE COLLECTION OF EXUDATE
Embodiments of the present invention describe a disposable drain bulb for the collection of fluid and other exudate. A disposable drain bulb in accordance with one embodiment comprises a drain interface with a one way valve for connection to a drain line through which the drain interface receives fluid and other exudate, the drain interface sealed with a capsule, and a drain body forming an internal reservoir into which the drain interface passes and that contains an absorbable material under vacuum while the drain interface remains in a closed state.
A FILTER FOR A HUMIDIFICATION SYSTEM
Filters for surgical procedures including a fluid pathway to transport fluid, such as smoke and/or gases, exhausted from a surgical site, a humidity regulating element located along the fluid pathway, and a filter element located downstream of the humidity regulating element such that the humidity regulating element and the filter element are in fluid communication with each other. The humidity regulating element is configured to remove or reduce humidity from the smoke and/or gases exhausted from the surgical site prior to the smoke and/or gases reaching the filter element. The filter element is configured to filter particulate matter from the smoke and/or gases exhausted from the surgical site.
Lipoaspirate Processing
Disclosed are methods and devices for processing lipoaspirate that include mechanically-processing harvested lipoaspirate in a liposuction filter canister. In some embodiments, the devices are liposuction devices that include a lipoaspirate processing unit for mechanically-processing lipoaspirate. The mechanical processing reduces the average size of adipose tissue pieces in the lipoaspirate without substantially rupturing lipocytes therein.
