Molds for internal hermetic connector seals
An example mold assembly includes a first core, a second core, and a retaining cap. The first core defines an insert seat configured to receive a mold insert. The first core and the second core are configured to define a mold volume adjacent the mold insert. The retaining cap is disposed about a curved end portion defined by the second core, and defines a curved cap surface in contact with the curved end portion. The retaining cap is configured to secure the second core at a predetermined orientation relative to the first core within predetermined tolerances. An example technique includes positioning a mold insert in the mold assembly, disposing the retaining cap about the second core, securing the second core at a predetermined orientation relative to the first core within predetermined tolerances, and depositing mold material within the mold volume.
GUIDING AND CENTERING DEVICE
The present invention relates to a guiding and centering device (10) for a forming tool (2), in particular an injection molding or die-casting tool, comprising a first mold half (1) and a second mold half (5) which are guided by guide means (7) from a closed position in which the respective separating surfaces of both mold halves (1; 5) are pressed against one another into an opened position and vice versa. This guiding and centering device (10) comprises a protruding guiding body (4) formed as a circular cylindrical bolt (12) provided at the first mold half (1), a guiding recess (6) formed as a bush (14) with an circular cylindrical inner surface (20) provided at the second mold half (5) and a rolling element cage (16) with rolling elements (17) inserted in rows (18), by means of which the two mold halves (1; 5) are guided and precisely centered in the closed position. The rolling element cage (16) is supported by the circular cylindrical inner surface (20) of the bush (14) and positioned via positioning means (30) in such a way that when closing the forming tool the circular cylindrical bolt (12) runs practically simultaneously in a first row of rolling elements (18.1) and a second row of rolling elements (18.2) of the rolling element cage (16).
MANUFACTURING MOLD FOR MANUFACTURING A CABLE HARNESS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD
A manufacturing mold for manufacturing a cable harness for a vehicle and a related method and system. The mold comprises a mold body and at least a first actuator, the mold body is made from an elastically reversibly deformable material and at least partially surrounds a mold cavity, the first actuator is coupled to a first portion of the mold body, the first portion at least partially delimits the mold cavity on the inside, the cable harness can at least be manufactured in the mold cavity, and the first actuator is designed to reversibly pivot the first portion between a first position and a second position that is different from the first position.
METHOD AND A TOOL FOR ASSEMBLING A FEMALE MOULD AND A FEMALE MOULD ARRANGEMENT
A pre-assembled female mould arrangement for being installed on a moulding machine, the pre-assembled female mould arrangement comprising: an annular forming element, extending about an axis and delimiting a forming cavity about said axis; a plate element, which delimits the forming cavity transversely to said axis; a peripheral annular component that surrounds at least partially the annular forming element; a supporting base;
a fastening element which is so mounted as to render the annular forming element fixed relative to the plate element.
Method and a tool for assembling a female mould and a female mould arrangement
A method for assembling a female mould on a moulding machine, comprises the steps of: providing a pre-assembled female mould arrangement, the pre-assembled female mould arrangement comprising a plurality of components including at least a base, a forming device having a forming cavity and a fastening element which renders the forming device fixed relative to the base; placing the pre-assembled female mould arrangement on a support of the moulding machine; fixing the pre-assembled female mould arrangement to the support.
MOVABLE MOLD INSERT ADJUSTER
A mold assembly may include a mold frame having an opening extending in a plane and a movable mold insert adjuster to move a mold insert having a slot forming protrusion within the plane within opening.
Tooling assembly having cam closing feature
Tooling assemblies and methods for using a tooling assembly to shape an article are provided. For example, a tooling assembly has a forward end and an aft end and comprises a first tool segment, a second tool segment, a forward cam portion near the forward end, and an aft cam portion near the aft end. The forward cam portion defines a follower surface, and at least a portion of the follower surface has a curvilinear profile. The aft cam portion defines a first surface extending at a first angle and a second surface extending at a second angle. The first and second tool segments define a cavity for shaping an article. An exemplary method comprises positioning an article preform within the cavity and inserting a fastener within the aft end of the tooling assembly until the fastener is fully inserted within the tooling assembly.
METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR CASTING OPTICAL POLYMER FILMS
In an example method of forming an optical film for an eyepiece, a curable material is dispensed into a space between a first and a second mold surface. A position of the first mold surface relative to the second mold surface is measured using a plurality of sensors. Each sensor measures a respective relative distance along a respective measurement axis between a respective point on a planar portion of the first mold surface and a respective point on a planar portion of the second mold surface. The measurement axes are parallel to each other, and the points define corresponding triangles on the first and second mold surfaces, respectively. The position of the first mold surface is adjusted relative to the second mold surface based on the measured position, and the curable material is cured to form the optical film.
Positioning Device With Multi-Directional Lock
A positioning device for aligning and guiding a first half and a second half of a mold together. The positioning device may comprise a housing including identical wall members configured to define a cavity. A first member may be slidably disposed within the cavity defined by the housing. The first member may comprise a base and a plurality of walls extending from said base, wherein the plurality of walls is configured to define a void with an opening opposite the base. The first member may further comprise a post extending from the base opposite the plurality of walls and a ring disposed radially about a portion of the post, wherein the ring is configured to retain the first member within the housing. The positioning device may further comprise a second member comprising a base and a protrusion, wherein the protrusion is configured to matingly engage the void of the member.
MICROWAVE-TRANSMITTING MOULD STRUCTURE AND METHOD FOR USING THE SAME
Disclosed is a microwave-transmitting mould structure, comprising a first template, a second template and a mould combining unit. The mould combining unit has a first snap fit, a second snap fit and an engagement member. The first snap fit is arranged on the first template; the second snap fit is arranged on the second template; and the engagement member is snap-fit engaged between the first snap fit and the second snap fit, so that when the first template and the second template are subjected to an outward pressure, corresponding faces thereof which the engagement member can pass through respectively abut against abutting faces of the first snap fit and of the second snap fit, and thus, the first template and the second template cannot be separated from each other due to an increased pressure inside the mould.
