Casting cup assembly for forming an ophthalmic device
Disclosed in this specification is a casting cup assembly comprising frontcurve and basecurve molds which of which includes a ring that circumscribes the respective concave and convex mold surface. When the casting cup is assembled, the rings align and minimize de-centering and tilting of the concave and convex mold surfaces which, in turn, reduces edge defects.
A MOLD TOOL FOR INJECTION MOLDING
An injection-molding tool comprising at least two separate mold plates each having a mold insert socket with a mold insert attached in the mold insert socket. Each mold plate have mutually opposite and parallel abutting side faces defining the thickness of the mold plate and a number of mutually aligned guide bushings forming through holes adapted for axially sliding one of the mold plates with respect to the other on a common guide pin in a direction perpendicular to the abutting side faces of the mold plates. The guide bushings and the mold insert socket of at least one mold plate am interconnected via one or more connection plates each extending parallel to the abutting side faces and having a thickness of less than half the thickness of the mold plate.
MOULD FOR A WIND TURBINE BLADE AND METHOD OF ASSEMBLING SAME
A method of assembling a mould for a wind turbine blade (20) includes providing a mould half (42, 44) having a mould shell (50, 54) with a first mould shell section (70, 80) and a second mould shell section (72, 82); positioning the shell sections and the at least second adjacent one another along an interface (74, 84); adjusting the relative positions of the shell sections, and securing the relative positions of the shell sections in order to maintain a smooth transition across the interface.
Transportable molding system for forming insulation on long pipes and related methods
A portable molding system is configured for forming insulation on pipes. A set of transportable process modules are configured to be shipped to a molding site, operatively connected together at the molding site to form a site-installed molding system, and subsequently disconnected for transport to another site. The set of transportable process modules includes one or more resin preparation modules configured to prepare resin for being formed into insulation on the pipes. One or more mold modules are configured to define a mold cavity. The one or more mold modules are configured to hold a pipe in the mold cavity, to receive resin prepared by the one or more resin preparation modules in the mold cavity around the pipe, and to form said resin received in the mold cavity into insulation on the pipe.
A METHOD AND A TOOL FOR ASSEMBLING A FEMALE MOULD AND A FEMALE MOULD ARRANGEMENT
A method for assembling a female mould on a moulding machine, comprises the steps of: providing a pre-assembled female mould arrangement, the pre-assembled female mould arrangement comprising a plurality of components including at least a base, a forming device having a forming cavity and a fastening element which renders the forming device fixed relative to the base; placing the pre-assembled female mould arrangement on a support of the moulding machine; fixing the pre-assembled female mould arrangement to the support.
Method of loading and unloading a mold on a foam plastics molding machine
On a foam plastics molding machine, a molding unit, defined by a mold and an interface frame equipped with a number or quantity of plastic molding material and operating fluid inlets, is loaded into a raised window in a fixed frame of the machine by positioning the molding unit in a fixed position on a trolley; positioning the trolley astride a fixed platform; raising the platform so that vertical ribs on the interface frame slidably engage corresponding vertical guides forming part of the machine and on a level with the window; connecting the guides to the ribs; and moving the guides towards the window.
Platen for an injection molding machine
A platen for use with an injection molding machine includes a body having an opening for receiving a ring protruding from a mold for aligning the body and the mold. The opening includes a tapered recess having a surface extending radially outward from the opening. The tapered recess defines opposed edges along an outer surface of the body, the opposed edges converging in a radially outward direction away from the opening.
CAVITY MOLD ALIGNMENT SYSTEM FOR BLOW MOLD TOOLING
An injection station of an injection blow molding machine. The injection station comprises a lower die plate and an upper die plate, with lower and upper die plates being shiftable relative to one another between an open position and a closed position. The injection station additionally includes one or more lower mold halves rigidly secured to the lower die plate. The injection station additionally includes one or more upper mold halves floatingly secured to the upper die plate such that positions of the upper mold halves are configured to be adjusted with respect to the upper die plate. Each of the lower mold halves corresponds with an upper mold half to present one or more mold cavities when the lower and upper die plates are in the closed position.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING FIBER-REINFORCED PLASTIC MOLDED ARTICLE
An object is to provide a device and method for manufacturing a fiber-reinforced plastic molded article, whereby two members can be accurately positioned with respect to each other upon integral molding of the members via a VaRTM method. A device for manufacturing a fiber-reinforced plastic molded article includes a skin mold in which a skin, which is a cured fiber-reinforced composite member, is mounted; a stringer mold that is configured to accommodate a stringer, which is a fabric to be joined to the skin; and a folded plate that is configured to accommodate the stringer mold and includes a positioning portion for positioning with respect to a positioning portion provided on the skin.
System and Method for Mold Block Exchange on Return Track
A system and method for replacing or substituting mold blocks in a corrugator, the corrugator comprising first and second tracks for carrying respective chains of mold blocks, each of the tracks comprising return tracks, wherein the system advances replacement mold blocks towards the return tracks to displace corresponding mold blocks in the mold block chains while the corrugator is in production and while the mold block chains are in motion.
