The present invention relates to a food forming drum comprising a multitude of rows product cavities, each row comprising a multitude of product cavities, wherein the product cavities are provided as one or more at least partially porous members made from a porous material with interconnecting pores. The present invention further relates to a food forming apparatus comprising a food forming drum and a porous member. Additionally, the present invention relates to a movable unit to transport a drum and a method to change a drum or clean the food forming apparatus.

A shaping mold for forming a porous starch container includes a porous female mold which is breathable and is formed with a cavity; a porous male mold which is breathable; wherein the porous male mold contains a male mold plate and a protrusion; the protrusion extends from a bottom of the male mold plate; the porous male mold has at least one penetrating hole penetrating the male mold plate and the protrusion; and wherein when the porous male mold is combined to the porous female mold, a shaping space is formed between the protrusion of the porous male mold and the cavity of the porous female mold for forming a porous starch container; the shaping space is communicated to the penetrating hole. The starch material contains 50 wt %90 wt % (weight percentage) starch; 5 wt %25 wt % fiber enhancer; 3 wt %30 wt % CaCO.sub.3 for hardening; and may further contains 02 wt %5 wt % foaming material.

According to some aspects, a method is provided of casting an object from a mold, the method comprising obtaining a mold comprising a hollow shell of rigid material, the material comprising a thermoset polymer having a plurality of pores formed therein, providing a metal and/or ceramic slurry into an interior of the mold, exposing at least part of the mold to a low pressure environment so that a net flow of gas is produced from the interior of the mold into the low pressure environment. According to some aspects, a method of forming a porous mold is provided. According to some aspects, a photocurable liquid composition is provided, comprising a liquid photopolymer resin, particles of a solid material, in an amount between 30% and 60% by volume of the composition, and a water-soluble liquid.

The present document discloses a tool or tool part for use in a process of molding a product from a pulp slurry. The tool or tool part comprises a self-supporting tool wall portion having a product face, for contacting the product, and a back face on the other side of the wall relative to the product face. The tool wall portion presenting pores, which are provided by a plurality of channels extending through the tool wall portion, from the product face to the back face. The channels are straight or curved with no more than one point of inflection.

A manufacturing method of a mold, the mold having at its surface a plurality of recessed portions whose two-dimensional size is not less than 10 nm and less than 500 nm when viewed in a direction normal to the surface, the method comprising: (a) providing a mold base (10); (b) partially anodizing the aluminum alloy layer (18), thereby forming a porous alumina layer (14) which has a plurality of minute recessed portions (14p); (c) bringing the porous alumina layer into contact with an etching solution, thereby enlarging the plurality of minute recessed portions; (d) detecting a protrusion (210) formed at a surface of the porous alumina layer or the mold base; (e) determining whether or not a height of the detected protrusion is greater than a predetermined height; and (f) if it is determined at step (e) that the height of the protrusion is greater, irradiating the protrusion with laser light such that the height of the protrusion becomes smaller than the predetermined height.
