Resin molded product and molding device
A transparent resin molded product and a mold for molding the product are provided in which occurrence of silver streak in the resin molded product is prevented. The resin molded product includes a design portion and a non-design portion, at least a part of the design portion is molded by transparent resin, and a gate trace (a gate arrangement position during the resin molding) is disposed in the non-design portion (runner portion). A foreign matter restraining portion for restraining foreign matters and bubbles contained in the transparent resin is disposed in the vicinity of the gate trace of the non-design portion. The foreign matters and bubbles are restrained by the foreign matter restraining portion and are prevented from flowing to the design portion, and therefore the occurrence of silver streak on the design portion can be prevented.
INJECTION MOLDED ARTICLE
An injection molded article is obtained by injection molding a molten resin into a mold. The injection molded article includes: a base as a thin plate-shaped member that is connected to a gate of the mold; and a plurality of protrusions each integrally molded on the base and having a thickness greater than a plate thickness of the base. The plurality of protrusions have holes each extending through the base, and the holes in the respective protrusions are connected through another component to form a flow channel. A processed region processed to have a surface roughness greater than a surface roughness of a mirror surface region including a region between the holes on the base is formed in a projected region where a region having a predetermined thickness value is projected on the base.
Template for imprint lithography including a recession and an apparatus and method of using the template
A template for imprint lithography can include a body. The body can include a base surface and a recession extending from the base surface. The recession can have steps and a feature. The steps can include a distal step that is farther from the base surface as compared to any other step, each step having a corresponding height. The feature can include the distal step includes a rounded or tapered sidewall; a surface along a deepest part of the recession is non-planar; or the height corresponding to the distal step is different from an average height corresponding to remaining steps. The template can be used in an imprint lithography apparatus. The template can be used in manufacturing articles when patterning different layers at the same time. The template is well suited for forming 3D memory arrays.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR IN-MOLD SUBSTRATE BINDING TO ARTICLES MANUFACTURED BY INJECTION MOLDING
Disclosed is an injection mold for manufacturing an injection-molded article to which a substrate is bound in-mold during injection, the substrate having an adhering surface for binding to the article and a leading edge at an upstream end of the substrate. The injection mold comprises a first mold component and a second mold component together defining a cavity into which a molten plastic material is injected to form the article. The injection mold includes a flow deflector disposed on at least one of the first and second mold components, wherein the flow deflector deflects a flow of the molten plastic material over the leading edge of the substrate such that the flow makes first contact with the substrate downstream of the leading edge, thereby forming a temporary air pocket at the leading edge of the substrate which is then back-filled by the subsequent flow of the molten plastic material.
Method for Identifying a Fiber-Reinforced Plastic Component, and a Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) Mold
A method for identifying a fiber-reinforced plastic component includes the acts of providing a fiber preform, applying a label to the fiber preform and holding it in place, inserting the preform together with the label in a mold and closing the mold, and infiltrating the preform with a plastic compound and curing it in the closed mold. In order to reliably identify the plastic component, the label comes to rest on a flow aid portion formed on the inner mold wall which has at least one channel-shaped depression. The longitudinal extension of the flow aid portion projects beyond the label.
Pressing tool with optimized resin flow
A pressing tool is provided for producing fiber composite components, including a first tool part and a second tool part moveable relative to the first tool part. In the closed state of the pressing tool, the two tool parts form a shaping cavity for accommodating a fiber semi-finished product to be shaped and each have a tool surface delimiting the cavity. In addition, at least one of the tool surfaces has at least two adjacent flat sections inclined toward each other which are connected to each other by way of a curved transition section. The curved transition section has at least one groove-shaped recess facing the cavity.
Method and mould for producing an aerodynamic element comprising riblets
A mould for obtaining an element is provided. The mould includes an outer face and a plurality of parallel ribs and/or grooves formed on the outer face. One of the walls of the mould includes ribs and/or grooves of which at least a portion of the ribs and/or grooves can be retracted, at least temporarily, such that at least a portion of the surface of the wall is smooth.
Method of moulding a composite article and mould
The present invention relates to a method of moulding a composite article using a mould. The mould includes first and second rigid mould parts between them defining a mould cavity. A reservoir of resin is connected to an inlet into the mould cavity. A suction pump is connected to a port on the opposite side of the mould cavity from the inlet. At least one of the mould parts has an arrangement of grooves on the surface facing the mould cavity to distribute resin across the mould cavity. The method includes laying up fibres in the mould cavity, injecting resin from the reservoir by running the suction pump to fill the mould cavity with resin, curing the resin article to form a moulded article and opening the mould and removing the article.
Transverse tensioning system and method for continuous compression molding of a stack of plies
Disclosed herein is a transverse tensioning system that comprises a left-side clamping assembly comprising a first left-side clamp element and a second left-side clamp element. The first left-side clamp element and the second left-side clamp element clamp down on the left edge portion of the stack of plies when the stack of plies moves in a feed direction and is shaped between opposing dies. The system also comprises a right-side clamping assembly, spaced apart from the left-side clamping assembly and comprising a first right-side clamp element and a second right-side clamp element. The first right-side clamp element and the second right-side clamp element clamp down on the right edge portion of the stack of plies when the stack of plies moves in the feed direction and is shaped between the opposing dies.
