A roll mold comprising, on an outer peripheral surface thereof, n linear grooves extending in a roll axial direction or a direction inclined with respect to the roll axial direction and arranged side by side, where n is 800 or more, wherein the n linear grooves are arranged in a manner that a gradual decrease and a gradual increase in groove depth are repeated, and the number of points at which a transition from the decrease to the increase in groove depth occurs is m or less, where m is selected from 2 to 8.
Elastic microcell surface structure and method for manufacturing same
An elastic microcell surface structure for an elastomer body with an outer film adhered and to a method for manufacturing the same, wherein the elastomer body includes a solid uneven structure formed of protruding portions and recess portions formed in its surface, and the outer film includes a zigzag uneven structure in a manner of being tightly wrapped around the protruding portions and recess portions of the solid uneven structure of the elastomer body.
Manufacturing method of plate precursor having needle-like protrusion, and manufacturing method of microneedle array
Provided are a manufacturing method of a plate precursor having a plurality of needle-like protrusions and a manufacturing method of a microneedle array, which make it possible to manufacture a plate precursor within a short period of time. A manufacturing method of a plate precursor having a needle-like protrusion includes: a preparation step of preparing a cutting tool including at least one blade conforming to an external shape of the needle-like protrusion, and a base material; and a cutting step of cutting the base material by rotating the cutting tool about a tool axis of the cutting tool and revolving the cutting tool around an axis of the needle-like protrusion to be formed on the base material to form the needle-like protrusion having a shape conforming to a shape of the cutting tool.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FORMING TEXTURED BLADDER
A method including inserting into a mold a first tool having a first surface. The method further includes printing a second tool from a polymer material and inserting the second tool into the first tool. The second tool having a smaller wall thickness than the first tool and including a second surface opposing and in contact with the first surface of the first tool and a third surface formed on an opposite side of the second tool than the second surface.
Edge exclusion apparatus and methods of using the same
A method of deposition is disclosed. The method can include dispensing a formable material over a substrate, where the substrate includes a non-uniform surface topography, and where the substrate includes an active zone and an exclusion zone. The method can also include curing the formable material in the exclusion zone to form a circular edge between the exclusion zone and the active zone, contacting the formable material with a superstrate, and curing the formable material in the active zone to form a layer over the substrate, wherein curing is performed while the superstrate is contacting the formable material.
Method for micromolding a polymeric membrane having a pore array
A method for micro-molding a polymeric membrane and including pouring a predetermined volume of curable polymer unto a micro-fabricated mold having a post array with pillars, and overlaying the polymer with a support substrate. A spacer, such as a rubber spacer, is placed in contact with the support substrate and a force is applied to an exposed side of the spacer to compress the support substrate and the polymer together. While applying the force, the polymer is cured on the mold for a predetermined time period and at a predetermined temperature to form a polymeric membrane having a pore array with a plurality of pores corresponding to the plurality of pillars of the post array. The polymeric membrane is removed from the support substrate.
PRODUCTION METHOD OF MOLD HAVING RECESSED PATTERN IN RECESSED STEP PORTION
A production method of a mold having a recessed pattern includes: a plate precursor preparation step of preparing a plate precursor having a pedestal on which a protruding pattern is disposed; a resin plate preparation step of preparing a thermoplastic resin plate having a recessed step portion; and a resin plate precursor production step of producing a thermoplastic resin plate precursor, the resin plate precursor production step including a positioning step of positioning the protruding pattern of the plate precursor and a center position of the recessed step portion, and a recessed pattern forming step of forming a recessed pattern having an inverted shape of the protruding pattern on the thermoplastic resin plate by pressing the protruding pattern of the heated plate precursor and the pedestal against the recessed step portion, thereafter cooling the plate precursor, and separating the plate precursor from the thermoplastic resin plate.
IMPRINT APPARATUS, IMPRINT METHOD, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING ARTICLE
An imprint apparatus executes an imprint process for shaping an imprint material by using a mold. The apparatus includes a controller which obtains first height distribution information indicating a height distribution of a surface of a first substrate, and a measuring device which obtains second height distribution information indicating a height distribution of a surface of a second substrate. The controller controls the imprint process based on corrected height distribution information which is obtained by removing a first component that is an approximation function, of an order not more than a first predetermined order, for approximating the first height distribution information, from the first height distribution information, and a second component which is an approximation function, of an order not more than a second predetermined order, for approximating the second height distribution information.
SURFACE FEATURE TRANSFER MEDIA AND METHODS OF USE
Forming features in the surface of a bicycle component involves depositing a substance onto a substrate in a geometric pattern to form a transfer medium. Forming features may also involve positioning the transfer medium relative to an unformed bicycle component, and forming a negative of the geometric pattern in the bicycle component through the application of heat and/or pressure to the transfer medium and the unformed bicycle component. The transfer medium may be configured for use in the molding of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (“CFRP”) bicycle components and may include a substrate formed of a flexible material, and a geometric pattern formed of a hard material, the hard material different than the flexible material.
