MANUFACTURING METHOD OF SHEET HAVING NEEDLE-LIKE PROTRUDING PORTIONS
The manufacturing method of the sheet having the needle-like protruding portions includes: preparing a mold including needle-like recessed portions, and a solution supply device including a slit-like opening formed at a nozzle distal end portion; supplying a solution from the solution supply device to the mold in a state that the nozzle distal end portion is pressed to a front surface of the mold, and filling the solution in the needle-like recessed portions; and moving the solution supply device relatively to the mold in a state that the nozzle distal end portion is brought into contact with the front surface of the mold, and, as a hardness distribution in a thickness direction of the mold, an average value of a Young's modulus at a part within 40 μm from the front surface of the mold is 1.9 MPa or higher and 100 MPa or lower.
RESIN MOLDING
A resin molding is provided. The resin molding includes an optically transparent plate-shaped portion, which has a first surface having a smooth surface portion, and a second surface having plural sections, wherein each of the plural sections has a width and includes one or more convex portions which have one or more ridge lines extending in a ridge line direction. The ridge line direction of the one or more convex portions of at least one of the plural sections is different from the ridge line direction of the one or more convex portions of one or more of others of the plural sections. When the first surface of the resin molding is observed from outside, the resin molding has metallic appearance.
COMPONENT WITH CUSTOMIZED EXTERIOR SURFACE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
A component with a customized exterior surface and a method and tool for manufacturing the same are provided. The component may be formed via a plastic forming process with a forming tool, such that it has a surface texture formed on its exterior surface. The forming tool has at least one tool surface, which defines a mold cavity. The tool surface has a textured layer coupled thereto, such that the textured layer directly contacts a moldable material supplied to the mold cavity. The textured layer has a surface texture formed thereon resulting in the surface texture present on the textured layer being transferred to and formed on the exterior surface of the component during forming. The textured layer may be changeable or replaceable with respect to the at least one tool surface, such that a single tool may form components with different surface textures formed on the exterior surface thereof.
ARCHITECTED MATERIALS FOR ENHANCED ENERGY ABSORPTION
A three-dimensional lattice architecture with a thickness hierarchy includes a first surface and a second surface separated from each other with a distance therebetween defining a thickness of the three-dimensional lattice architecture; a plurality of angled struts extending along a plurality of directions between the first surface and the second surface; a plurality of nodes connecting the plurality of angled struts with one another forming a plurality of unit cells. At least a portion of the plurality of angled struts are internally terminated along the thickness direction of the lattice structure and providing a plurality of internal degrees of freedom towards the first or second surface of the lattice architecture.
AEROSOL PRODUCTION ASSEMBLY INCLUDING SURFACE WITH MICRO-PATTERN
The present disclosure relates to an aerosol production assembly. The aerosol production assembly may include a reservoir that contains an aerosol precursor composition and an atomizer that receives the aerosol precursor composition from the reservoir and heats the aerosol precursor composition to produce an aerosol. The aerosol production assembly may additionally include a body that directs the aerosol through an outlet. The body may include a surface including a micro-pattern that defines at least one of hydrophobic and anti-microbial properties. The surface including the micro-pattern may not include a chemical coating that provides these properties. Rather, the surface may define a three-dimensional structure that provides hydrophobic and/or anti-microbial properties. A related assembly method is also provided.
IMPRINT LITHOGRAPHY STAMP METHOD OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME
Disclosed is a stamp (14) for an imprint lithography process, the stamp comprising an elastomer stamp body including a polysiloxane bulk portion (110) and a patterned surface comprising a feature pattern (16) for imprinting an imprinting composition (12) wherein the elastomer stamp body comprises a basic organic amine in an amount of at least 0.1% by weight based on the total weight of the elastomer stamp body. Also disclosed are methods of manufacturing such a stamp, and a method of forming a patterned layer on a substrate using such a stamp.
Resin molded product and vehicle display device
A resin molded product that is applied to a vehicle display device has a surface on which a plurality of fine irregularities having surface roughness of equal to or larger than 1.0 μm and equal to or smaller than 10.0 μm and an array pitch of equal to or larger than 3.0 μm and equal to or smaller than 18.0 μm are molded. In other words, the resin molded product has the surface on which the fine irregularities causing a gloss value at an incident angle of 85° to be equal to or lower than 2 are molded. This configuration provides an effect that the resin molded product and the vehicle display device can lower gloss of the surface.
Method for manufacturing microscopic structural body
A method for manufacturing a molded product with fine structure includes steps of, in a temperature-controlled stamper mold provided with a fine structure including a concavo-convex pattern having a width of 10 nm to 1 μm, forming a thermoplastic molten polymer layer to be in contact with the fine structure 20 of the stamper mold having been kept at a predetermined temperature and holding the thermoplastic molten polymer layer for a predetermined time so as to transfer the fine structure of the stamper mold to the thermoplastic molten polymer layer under gravity.
ENHANCED SYSTEMS THAT FACILITATE VACUUM BAG CURING OF COMPOSITE PARTS
Systems and methods are provided for enhancement of vacuum bagging processes for a composite part. One system includes dispensers configured to dispense materials onto a forming tool for a composite part, and a controller. The controller is able to identify a location for placing the composite part on the tool, and to direct the dispensers to lay up a laminate of constituent material for the composite part at the location. The controller is also able to direct the dispensers to spray vacuum bag material atop the laminate to form a vacuum bag that covers the laminate.
