Electrically-Responsive Hydrogels
Implants comprising electrically-responsive hydrogel are described. Systems to provide electricity to induce response in hydrogel-containing implants are described. Methods for utilizing said system and methods for utilizing said hydrogel-containing implants are described.
ASSEMBLY COMPRISING SHEET HEATING ELEMENT AND DELIVERY DEVICE
A vaporizing assembly for an aerosol generating system includes a sheet heating element and a delivery device configured to deliver a liquid aerosol-forming substrate from a liquid storing portion to the sheet heating element. The sheet heating element is spaced apart from the delivery device and is configured to heat the delivered liquid aerosol forming substrate.
ACTIVATION MECHANISM FOR AN AEROSOL DISPENSER
An activation mechanism for an aerosol dispenser is presented having a first housing structure, an actuation member movably arranged in the first housing structure, wherein the first housing structure is provided with an actuation member opening in level with the axial position of the actuation member, and an activation member slidably attached to the first housing structure, the activation member slides between a non-triggering position and a triggering position relative to the first housing structure, wherein the activation member has a radially flexible tab portion that is offset from the actuation member opening when the activation member is in the non-triggering position, restricting radial flexing of the tab portion, and wherein the tab portion aligns with the actuation member opening when the activation member is in the triggering position, thereby enabling the tab portion to flex radially inwards to cause movement of the actuation member.
Delivery Device and Method for Intranasal Administration of Topical Therapeutic Agents
The present invention provides a delivery device for intranasal administration of topical therapeutic agents to a desired site within a nasal cavity. The delivery device, in some embodiments, comprises a housing defining an interior and adapted to contain a supply of at least one therapeutic agent. The delivery device further includes a flexible connector, which is in fluid communication with the supply in the housing. A distributor, which is also integrally formed with the connector, is also provided. The distributor includes a proximal end that is in fluid communication with a distal end of the connector, and is adapted to receive the supply of the at least one therapeutic agent delivered by way of a conduit. The distributor further includes a distal end defining an outlet configured to diffuse the therapeutic agent when delivered to the treatment site.
Spray nozzle chip and a medicament delivery device comprising the same
A spray nozzle chip is presented having: a first layer provided with a first layer orifice, a mechanically flexible nozzle layer provided with a nozzle orifice, the spray nozzle chip having a valve functionality obtained by movement of the nozzle layer relative to the first layer due to pressure changes, wherein the nozzle orifice is closed when the nozzle layer is in a default non-pressurised state and wherein the nozzle orifice is opened and set in fluid communication with the first layer orifice when the nozzle layer is deformed due to pressure during a spraying operation, and wherein the spray nozzle chip further has a sealing layer configured to rupture when the nozzle layer is deformed due to applied pressure during a spraying operation.
Child-resistant closure systems for containers
A child-resistant closure system for a container comprises a protective cap, a dispensing tip, and a cylindrical base. The dispensing tip includes a pair of buttons adapted to control whether the dispensing tip is in a locked condition so as to prevent actuation or an unlocked condition so as to permit actuation, via the shoulders, of a sprayer pump unit that is partially contained within the dispensing tip. The cylindrical base has a pair of spaced apart upwardly extending legs. In an locked condition of the dispensing tip, the upwardly extending legs are not aligned with slots defined in a horizontal circumferential portion of the dispensing tip such that downward movement of the dispensing tip in relation to the base is blocked by the upwardly extending legs to prohibit actuation of the sprayer pump unit and to lock the dispensing tip.
Systems and methods for generating and applying biomimicry tear films
Systems and methods are provided for generating and applying artificial tear film layers to a cornea surface. An example method includes forming an artificial tear film that is optically transparent, ultra-thin, and smoothly conforming to cornea surface. The artificial tear film includes a lipid layer that prevents evaporation of moisture from the cornea (e.g., from the underlying aqueous layer of the artificial tear film, and/or from the natural tear film on the cornea, etc.). A dispenser, such as an atomizer/nebulizer/micronizer, can be used to generate and applying the artificial tear film layers, especially the lipid layer, with reduced dispensing volume and average droplet size, etc., such that the deposit thickness of the artificial tear film layers remains thin and better spreads and conforms to the surface of the cornea, as compared to the results of conventional eye droppers dispensing conventional artificial tears.
AEROSOL OR SPRAY DEVICE, SPRAY NOZZLE UNIT AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A method for manufacturing an spray device includes assembling at least one spray nozzle plate into a thermoplastic holder, while controlling the temperature of the spray nozzle plate and/or the holder and as a result at least locally plastically deforming the holder permanently. After the thermoplastic deformation of a seat of the holder, a diameter of the seat of the holder upstream of the spray nozzle plate exceeds a diameter of the seat of the holder downstream of the nozzle plate. The thermoplastic holder may have a tapered seat, where the smallest cross section of the tapered seat is smaller than the spray nozzle plate, where a widest side of the tapered seat is pointing towards a supply side of the liquid.
Medical spraying device with nozzle, and method for producing a spray cone
A medical spraying device and method, for irrigating a wound, having a liquid reservoir for a medical irrigation liquid or a connection for such a liquid reservoir and an arrangement for applying pressure to the medical irrigation liquid, such that the irrigation liquid is pushable through a nozzle by the pressure acting on the irrigation liquid in order to produce a spray cone. The nozzle has a plurality of openings, which are arranged at an angle to one another in such a way that the irrigation liquid jets exiting from the openings, at a such flow rate and angle, meet in an atomization space and/or a discharge opening of the nozzle; thus, a spray cone is produced from the atomized irrigation liquid.
CARTRIDGE AND NON-BURNING TYPE FLAVOR INHALER
This cartridge is provided with a flavor source housing which houses a flavor source, and a mesh body which is arranged on at least one end of the flavor source housing. The mesh body has multiple openings. Each of the openings has a polygonal shape with interior angles of less than or equal to 180°. As lengths that pass through the center of gravity of each opening, each opening has a minimum length that is shortest and a maximum length that is longest. The minimum length is less than the smallest size of the raw material pieces, and the maximum length is greater than the minimum length.
