Polymer composite building product and method of fabrication
A building product for application to the exterior of a building. The front face of the product utilizes a first fiber sheet partially embedded within a thermoset polymer coating resin. A foamed closed cell admixture composition core with an inorganic filler overlays the thermoset polymer coating resin with the embedded fiber sheet. The admixture composition infiltrates and bonds to the portion of the fiber sheet that is not embedded within the thermoset polymer coating resin mechanically bonding to the thermoset polymer coating. A second fiber sheet overlays the admixture core and the admixture and second fiber sheet form the rear surface of the building product that is mounted adjacent the building surface.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING MOLDED ARTICLE
Provided is a method for manufacturing a molded article obtained by double belt press molding a thermosetting prepreg, in which the thermosetting prepreg is coated with a release film during molding, and a width of the prepreg is 1 to 25 mm smaller than that of the release film. This manufacturing method suppresses burr generation and fiber twisting, and is excellent in width restriction, and thus can be suitably used for, for example, automobile members, railroad vehicle members, aerospace machine members, ship members, household equipment members, sporting goods members, light vehicle members, building and civil engineering members, and housings for OA equipment and the like.
Method for production of thin plate-like laminate having film-like resin layer
[Object] To provide a method for the production of a thin plate-like laminate having a film-like resin layer in which a concave/convex shape can stably be formed with high accuracy on the film-like resin layer laminated on a thin plate-like substrate. [Achieving Means] There are provided a step of creating a mold retention structure 100 in which molds 110, which have been heated to a thermal deformation temperature of a film-like resin composition 84, are arranged on both surface sides of a workpiece 85, and a step of introducing the mold retention structure in which the heated molds are arranged between two compression rollers 52, 54 and compressing outer surfaces of the molds by rotating the compression rollers to integrally thermocompression-bond the film-like resin composition and a substrate 81 to form a thin plate-like laminate 80 having a film-like resin layer 82.
METHOD OF REPAIRING DAMAGE TO A THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITE ELEMENT
The disclosed embodiments relate to a method for repairing a damage to a thermoplastic composite element, in particular an aircraft component, wherein a socket is milled at the site of damage to the thermoplastic composite element. Then, in the socket a patch is formed from a thermosetting material containing a reinforcing phase of fabric layers and a matrix of thermosetting resin, the patch having a shape and size corresponding to the socket geometry. In the next step, the patch is cured, and finally the cured patch is glued into the socket by means of an adhesive.
METHOD FOR BUILD SEPARATION FROM A CURING INTERFACE IN AN ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING PROCESS
A layer-by layer method for additive manufacturing that includes: photocuring a first volume of resin to form a layer of a build at an upper surface of a separation membrane laminated over a build window; injecting a fluid into an interstitial region between the separation membrane and the build window; retracting the build from the build window; evacuating the fluid from the interstitial region; and photocuring a second volume of liquid resin to form a subsequent layer of the build between an upper surface of a separation membrane and the previous layer of the build.
METHOD FOR MAKING ELASTOMERIC ARTICLES
A method for molding shaped silicone elastomeric articles from room temperature curable silicone compositions, which are practically not suited to being processed using extrusion techniques, is provided. The method enables the room temperature curable silicone composition to cure in a predefined shape (6) into which it is introduced to form a shaped silicone elastomeric article. The articles may be, for the sake of example, suitable for use as spacers for insulating glass units (IGUs).
COMPOSITE PRE-BONDING TREATMENT METHOD
An object is to provide a composite pre-bonding treatment method that stabilizes quality of a bonded part. The present disclosure provides a composite pre-bonding treatment method performed when bonding a composite material to a member. The method includes: (S2) attaching an absorber adapted to absorb a contaminant to a surface of a prepreg laminate that is a precursor of the composite material; (S3) covering the prepreg laminate with a packaging material from above the absorber; (S4) vacuuming the packaging material and heating the prepreg laminate at a temperature lower than a curing temperature of a prepreg; (S5) then removing the packaging material; (S6) peeling off the absorber; (S7) attaching, to a surface of the prepreg laminate with the absorber peeled off, a release member that does not transfer silicone or fluorine to a resin, and then (S9) curing the prepreg laminate to mold the composite material; and (S11) peeling off the release member from the composite material before bonding the member.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING COMPOSITE MATERIAL JOINED BODY
A method of the invention produces a composite material conjugate in which a first composite material and a second composite material are adhered without using an adhesive, wherein a first prepreg laminate to which a release member is attached is cured to form the first composite material, the release member being made of a material that does not transfer silicone and fluorine to the first prepreg laminate, after detaching the release member from the first composite material, surface treatment that imparts polar functional groups to the surface of the first composite material to which the release member was bonded is carried out to activate the surface, a second prepreg laminate is placed directly on the activated surface of the first composite material, and the second prepreg laminate is cured to form a second composite material adhered to the first composite material.

A method for forming a crownplate of a golf club head includes the steps of providing a first plurality of composite pre-preg plies, aligning the first plurality of pre-preg plies within a mold cavity in a first configuration in the shape of the crownplate, and heating the plurality of composite pre-preg plies to form the crownplate. The first configuration includes a first thickness area and a second thickness area. The second thickness area is thicker than the first thickness area.

In a preferred embodiment, a composite panel with a smooth outer surface, ready for painting with or without addition of primer, may be created by constructing a panel layup assembly upon a mold, the panel layup assembly including a composite panel having a core and a resin formulation, and a release film between the mold and the composite panel, where a smooth release surface of the release film is in contact with the composite panel upon construction; initiating curing of the composite panel at a first temperature within a lowermost ten percent of a curing temperature range of the resin formulation; continuing curing of the composite panel at a second temperature above the lowermost ten percent of the curing temperature range; and completing curing of the composite panel at a third temperature below the second temperature.
