Disclosed herein are formulations of pirfenidone or pyridone analog compounds for aerosolization and use of such formulations for aerosol administration of pirfenidone or pyridone analog compounds for the prevention or treatment of various fibrotic and inflammatory diseases, including disease associated with the lung, heart, kidney, liver, eye and central nervous system. In some embodiments, pirfenidone or pyridone analog compound formulations and delivery options described herein allow for efficacious local delivery of pirfenidone or pyridone analog compound. Compositions include all formulations, kits, and device combinations described herein. Methods include inhalation procedures, indications and manufacturing processes for production and use of the compositions described.
Device and method for monitoring adherence to inhaled therapy
A device for monitoring adherence of a patient to a prescribed regimen is provided. The device has a pulmonary delivery device fluid, an adapter in communication with the delivery device and a dispenser in fluid communication with the adapter. A pressurized drug, contained in the pulmonary delivery device, can be delivered from the pulmonary delivery device to the patient through the adapter and the dispenser. A sensor is mounted to the adapter or the dispenser for detecting a temperature or pressure change caused by the movement of the drug from the pulmonary delivery device to the patient and generating a feedback signal based on the change. The feedback signal is further processed for generating a signal indicating a successful deliver of the drug to the patient.
NASAL DELIVERY
A nasal delivery device for and a method of delivering a substance to a nasal cavity of a subject, the delivery device comprising: a delivery unit for delivering a flow entraining a substance to one nostril of a subject, the delivery unit including a nosepiece for fitting to a nostril of the subject; and a flow resistor unit for fitting to the other nostril of the subject, the flow resistor unit including a progressive resistor for progressively providing an increasing flow resistance to the delivered flow.
MECHANISMS TO PREVENT ANOMALY DETECTORS FROM LEARNING ANOMALOUS PATTERNS
In one embodiment, a device in a network detects an anomaly in the network by analyzing a set of sample data regarding one or more conditions of the network using a behavioral analytics model. The device receives feedback regarding the detected anomaly. The device determines that the anomaly was a true positive based on the received feedback. The device excludes the set of sample data from a training set for the behavioral analytics model, in response to determining that the anomaly was a true positive.
Metering device and dispensing container
The invention relates a metering device for fluids from a containment volume. The metering device is a means to dispense metered volumes of fluids such as detergents, medicaments, lotions and the like. The invention further provides a container for fluid material to be dispensed in metered doses.
Vaporizable material handling for electronic vapor device
An electronic vapor device is disclosed comprising a first container for storing a vaporizable material, a vaporizer component coupled to the first container, configured for vaporizing the vaporizable material, a processor coupled to the vaporizer component, configured to control the vaporizer component in response to a disposition signal, and a network access device, coupled to the processor, configured for receiving the disposition signal from a remote server.
DEVICE FOR DISTRIBUTION OF FLUID PRODUCT TRIGGERED BY INHALATION
A fluid dispenser device having a reservoir; a valve; a cocking member movable between rest and primed positions and between primed and dispensing positions, the cocking member includes a set of teeth; a blocking device blocking the cocking member in the primed position; a trigger system controlled by inhaling to release the blocking device; a reservoir support element including a cam opening; and a meshing wheel having a toothed projection co-operating with the set of teeth and a cam projection co-operating with the cam opening. The toothed projection is centered relative to the wheel rotation axis, and the cam projection is offset relative to the axis. The meshing wheel completes a turn when the cocking member moves from its primed towards its dispensing position, such that the cam projection causes the reservoir support element to perform reciprocating axial movement for actuating and returning the valve into its rest position.
NASAL SPRAY APPARATUS
A cap for a nasal spray apparatus, the cap including a spray dispensing mechanism and further including a base sealingly mountable on a container of liquid substance to be dispensed; an intermediate section arranged for reciprocating movement relative to the base the intermediate section including the spray dispensing mechanism and having a spray dispensing passage; a cover-section having a depressible flexible portion, coupled to the intermediate-section; and a Light Emitting Diode (LED) connected to a power source through an electric circuit, the LED mounted adjacent the spray dispensing passage so as to be inserted into a nostril therewith; wherein the depressible flexible portion is arranged and configured to cause closure of the electric circuit for activating the LED and to actuate the spray dispensing mechanism, to provide both illumination and spray of liquid substance into the nostril.
DOSE DELIVERY DEVICE FOR INHALATION
Methods and devices for delivering a dose, such as a medicament, for inhalation. A dose may be stored by a delivery device and dispersed and delivered in a metered fashion to a subject, such as by the subject inhaling via a mouthpiece of the delivery device. One or more chambers of the device may have a toroidal shape and may be arranged to be selectively opened for fluid communication with a flow path of the delivery device, such as by sliding the chamber relative to a portion of the flow path. The flow path may include a restriction that permits air to bypass the chamber, and/or the chamber may be arranged so that fluid entering the chamber interacts with fluid exiting the chamber so as to enhance dispersion of the dose.
Method for assembling a laterally-actuated fluid product dispensing device
A method of assembling a fluid dispenser device, the method comprising the following steps: pre-assembling a first unit comprising a body (10) and a lateral actuator system (40), said lateral actuator system including a presser element (42) that is mounted on the body (10) to pivot about an axis (A), an actuator element (41) being mounted on said presser element (42) to pivot about an axis (B), said presser element (42) having a pre-assembled position in which said lateral actuator system (40) is blocked; assembling a second unit, comprising a dispenser member (30), such as a pump or a valve, that is mounted on a reservoir (20) by means of a fastener ring (60), in said first pre-assembled unit; and moving said presser element (42) from its pre-assembled position to a final assembled position that is axially offset from said pre-assembled position, and in which said actuator element (41) co-operates operationally with said fastener ring (60) so as to actuate said dispenser member (30) each time the lateral actuator system is actuated.
