COLLAPSIBLE SHAPE-RETAINING CONTAINERS
Collapsible containers and a method of their manufacture are disclosed herein. The collapsible containers have one or more collapsible wall sections and a stiff upper and lower tier. The wall sections have living hinges and three or more tiers between the hinges. A thermoplastic elastomer layer may join separately made portions of the container together. The containers may be made by molding and overmolding. The containers include inter alia bulk liquid containers, jugs, tubs, baskets, bottles, and food containers. The method of manufacturing includes placing a container component and a matching container body comprising a stiff first tier, a stiff second tier, and a collapsible wall section in a mold; assembling the container body with the container component to close one end of the container body; and overmolding a thermoplastic layer around the container body and the container component.

A worm wheel includes: a sleeve; and a toothed portion provided by injection molding so as to cover a part of the sleeve, the toothed portion including a first thick portion provided on a first side face, which is a surface of the sleeve on a side closer to an injection-mold gate in an axial direction, and a second thick portion provided on a second side face, which is a surface on an opposite side to the first side face. A central part, in the axial direction, of the outer peripheral surface of the sleeve projects in the radial direction relative to both ends in the axial direction. The first thick portion of the toothed portion has a smaller thickness in the axial direction than the second thick portion.

A method of forming a wheel includes forming a main hub portion having an outer portion and an inner portion; forming a ring portion configured to engage the main hub portion so as to enclose the outer portion and the inner portion and create an enclosed void; assembling the main hub portion and the ring portion into an assembled hub; and overmolding an exterior covering surrounding at least part of the main hub and ring portions.

A method for producing a pendulum arrangement of a pendulum laser device includes producing a universal joint of a pendulum of the pendulum arrangement by forming two orthogonal, at least partially micro-structured shafts via plastic injection moulding and positioning at least two bearing shells on the at least partially micro-structured regions of at least one shaft of the universal joint. The method further includes producing an optic carrier of the pendulum of the pendulum arrangement as a single piece with the bearing shells by overmoulding at least two bearing shells surrounding a shaft of the universal joint via plastic injection moulding. The optic carrier is connected to the universal joint such that it is configured to rotate about the one shaft.

The number of the gates at the primary molding step and the number of the gates at the secondary molding step are plural and identical, and the gates are arranged circumferentially. Gate positions G21, . . . at the secondary molding step are circumferentially intermediate or nearly circumferentially intermediate between gate positions G11, . . . and weld positions W11, . . . adjacent to the gate positions G11, . . . in the primary molded article.
Sealing gasket with specialized reinforcing ring for sealing plastic pipelines
A pipe sealing gasket is shown which is designed to be received within a raceway provided within a socket end of a female bell plastic pipe end which is assembled with a mating male pipe end to form a plastic pipe joint. The raceway in the female bell plastic pipe end is preformed during manufacture and the gasket is installed thereafter. The gasket has a rubber body portion which is reinforced by a hard plastic band formed as a series of integral, spaced wedges which are interconnected by a flexible ribbon. The gasket is flexible enough to be flexed and placed in the pipe raceway and yet the hard plastic band acts to prevent extrusion of the gasket during a variety of pressure conditions as well as preventing displacement during field assembly.
