Multilayer Film Having Excellent Recoverability
The present disclosure provides a multilayer film comprising a resin composition layer containing an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer with an ethylene unit content of 20 mol% or more and 60 mol% or less and an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer with an ethylene unit content being more than the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer, and a thermoplastic resin layer.
Polyethylene blends and films
Provided herein are polyethylene films made of the polyethylene blends having improved properties, particularly in Elmendorf tear and puncture resistance. The polyethylene blends include two primary polyethylene blends.
Heat shrinkable film and preparation method thereof
A heat shrinkable film shows a heat shrinkage rate in the direction perpendicular to the main shrinkage direction that is not high even at high temperature and is printable thereon. The heat shrinkable film includes a polyester resin, wherein the heat shrinkage characteristics in the direction perpendicular to the main shrinkage direction satisfy the following Relationships 1 and 2:
−15≤ΔT.sub.70-65≤0 Relationship 1
0≤ΔT.sub.100-95≤5 Relationship 2 wherein ΔT.sub.X-Y is a value obtained by subtracting heat shrinkage rate of the heat shrinkable film in the direction perpendicular to the main shrinkage direction after the heat shrinkable film is immersed in water bath for 10 seconds at Y° C. from heat shrinkage rate of the heat shrinkable film in the direction perpendicular to the main shrinkage direction after the heat shrinkable film is immersed in water bath for 10 seconds at X° C.
Method and apparatus for reducing non-normal incidence distortion in glazing films
A method of manufacturing a polymer film includes melting a resin, extruding the melted resin through a die to produce a polymer film, shaping the polymer film, cooling the polymer film, capturing an image of a test pattern through the polymer film, calculating a modulation transfer function value from the image, and adjusting a process parameter of the melting, the extruding, the shaping, or the cooling based on the calculated modulation transfer function value.
Polyester film and preperation method thereof
A polyester-based film having excellent scratch resistance, durability, transparency, and visibility and a process for preparing the same. The polyester-based film comprises a base layer and a coating layer on at least one side of the base layer. The light passage according to Relationship 1 is 91% or more, or the total transmittance for light of 380 nm to 780 nm is 92% or more, it has excellent optical properties, durability, visibility, and reliability. Thus, it can be applied to display devices such as smartphones, tablet PCs, and laptops. In addition, in the polyester-based film according to an embodiment, the strain with respect to tensile load satisfies a specific range, whereby it is possible to achieve the flexibility that hardly causes deformation even when a certain load is maintained for a long period of time. Thus, it can be applied to flexible display devices, particularly, foldable display devices.
PIPE WITH AN OUTER WRAP
This disclosure relates generally to corrugated pipe, and more particularly to corrugated pipe with an outer wrap. In one embodiment, a pipe includes an axially extended bore defined by a corrugated outer wall having axially adjacent, outwardly-extending corrugation crests, separated by corrugation valleys. The pipe also includes an outer wrap applied to the outer wall. The outer wrap may include fibers and plastic. The outer wrap may span the corrugation crests producing a smooth outer surface.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A PHASE DIFFERENCE FILM
A method for producing a phase difference film is provided. The phase difference film consisting of a resin C contains a copolymer P containing a polymerization unit A and a polymerization unit B, and includes a phase separation structure that exhibits a structural birefringence. The phase separation structure includes a phase including as a main component the polymerization unit A and another phase including as a main component the polymerization unit B. The phase difference film has an NZ factor of greater than 0 and smaller than 1. The method comprises: forming a single layer film of a resin C; and causing phase separation of the resin C in the film, which includes a step of applying to the film a stress along a thickness direction thereof.
Polymer Extrusion Process
In the manufacture of extruded polymers there are a number of surface defects referred to as sharkskin, snakeskin and orange peel which all generally relate to the rheology of the polymer melt. A severe form of surface defect is “melt fracture” which is believed to result when the shear rate at the surface of the polymer is sufficiently high that the surface of the polymer begins to fracture. That is, there is a slippage of the surface of the extruded polymer relative to the body of the polymer melt. The surface generally can't flow fast enough to keep up with the body of the extrudate and a fracture in the melt occurs generally resulting in a severe loss of surface properties for the extrudate. A polymer extension process is disclosed wherein these undesirable surface defects are eliminated.
Laminated polyolefin microporous membrane including propylene-α-olefin copolymer and method of producing the same
The disclosure provides a laminated polyolefin microporous membrane having propylene-α-olefin copolymer and methods of producing the same. The laminated polyolefin microporous membrane has a two-type three layer structure in which first polyolefin microporous layers are surface layers and a second polyolefin microporous layer is an intermediate layer which is different from the first polyolefin microporous layer.
Voided plastics film
A formulation for making voided plastics film including a polyolefin, a filler and a voiding agent. The voiding agent is a glycerol ester of fumaric rosin or a pentaerythritol ester of fumaric rosin.
