EXTRUDABLE POLYMER COMPOSITES WITH MEMBRANE BARRIER PROPERTIES
The present disclosure generally relates to extrusion die systems. In particular, the present disclosure relates to the cyclical extrusion of materials to generate small sized grain features, generally in the range of nanosized grain features, in a tubular or profile shape, in which the individual nanolayers possess pores and/or polymer crystals oriented parallel to the extrusion flow direction and including products with enhanced permeation properties.
Pipe with embedded wire
A corrugated pipe includes a corrugated pipe body circumscribing a hollow conduit and including alternating ribs and valleys extending along a longitudinal axis between a first end and a second end thereof. An electrically conductive wire is embedded in the corrugated pipe body, so that the wire spans adjacent ribs and valleys and extends substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis between the first and second ends.
Products having a wood grain appearance, and methods and structures for use in forming same
Structures for use in forming products having a wood grain appearance include, for example, a plurality of extruded layers having different colors/shades spirally wound about a longitudinal axis to an outer surface to define the structure. The plurality of extruded layers include varying thicknesses along a spiral length of the plurality of layers and/or portions of the plurality of extruded layers encircling the longitudinal axis include portions disposed at different distances from the longitudinal axis. In some embodiments, the spirally winding includes forming a cylindrical structure, and pressing the cylindrical structure into a cuboid structure having a square or rectangular cross-section across the longitudinal axis and at least a portion of the plurality of extruded layers defining a square or rectangle pattern across the longitudinal axis. Longitudinal portions may be cut from the structures to form the products having a wood grain appearance.
LYOCELL MATERIAL FOR TABACCO FILTER
A lyocell material for a cigarette filter and a method of manufacturing the same are disclose. The lyocell material which is biodegradable and eco-friendly can be manufactured by crimping lyocell multifilaments to obtain a crimped tow.
Method of manufacturing a liner, liner, and appliance
A method for manufacturing a liner, in particular for the cabinet of a refrigerator, allowing to leave out a deep thermoforming step. The method includes extruding a sheet, trimming the sheet, folding the sheet and joining adjacent edges of the sheet.
POLYMER-BASED ARTERIAL HEMANGIOMA EMBOLIZATION DEVICE, MANUFACTURING METHOD AND APPLICATION OF SAME
A polymer-based embolization device comprises a helix constructed by a linear structure. The linear structure is either a fibrous structure or composed of an A structure (1) and a B structure (2), wherein the A structure (1) is a protrusion on the linear structure and the B structure (2) is a pillar-shaped structure positioned between two A structures (1) for connecting the two A structures (1). The embolization device adopts a linear structural design and is integrally manufactured using a polymer material via a four-axis rapid forming system or via a compression method, thereby addressing issues of generation of image artifacts during CT and magnetic resonance imaging. The combination of design, material, and technique of the invention provides the device with improved flexibility and embolus formation, and can satisfy different clinical requirements. When a biodegradable macromolecular material is selected for manufacturing, blood vessel obstruction caused by implant degrading can be avoided, allowing the blood vessel to return to a normal structural state.
Method for producing nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery separator
A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery separator, which includes a porous film containing a polyolefin-based resin as a main component, has a difference of not more than 2.5 between (a) a white index measured on a surface of the porous film which has not been irradiated with ultraviolet light having 255 W/m.sup.2 and (b) a white index measured on the surface of the porous film which has been irradiated, for 75 hours, with the ultraviolet light having 255 W/m.sup.2.
Extensible hose
The extensible hose (1) comprises a first elastically extensible tubular element (2) and a second tubular element (3) extendable and coaxial to said first tubular element (2). The second extendable tubular element (3) is inserted into said first elastically extensible tubular element (2). Herein proposed is also an extensible hose unit (G) comprising the hose (1) and at least one fitting (11) associable to at least one end of the hose (1), for connecting to liquid dispensing structure and/or a user device.
Ribbed film structures with voiding agent created visual characteristics
In one example embodiment, a film includes a coextruded structure having both an extruded ribbed skin layer that includes a plurality of ribs, and a core layer. The ribs are spaced apart by a web that is integral with the ribs. The film also includes a voiding agent in the ribs of the skin layer.
METHODS OF MAKING AN EXPANDABLE SHEATH
Disclosed herein are expandable introducer sheaths and methods of making and using the same. The sheaths minimize trauma to a patient's vasculature by allowing for temporary expansion of a portion of the sheath to accommodate passage of a delivery system for a cardiovascular device, then return to a non-expanded state after the passage of the device. The sheath includes an elongated annular member through which the cardiovascular device and its delivery system pass. In an embodiment, the annular inner member can be formed by coextruding a first and second material. The first material includes a fold, and the second material radially spaces the different parts of the fold from each other during fabrication and provides support for maintaining the tubular structure. The second material is removed once the coextrusion process is complete.
