DUAL-SIDED STRUCTURED FILM ARTICLES

Film articles with dual-sided structures are ones in which both of the major surfaces of the film have a structured surface. The structured film articles have a first major surface and second major surface, where each surface has a plurality of spaced apart protrusions forming a repeating pattern. Each repeating pattern has a major axis, where the major axis is one of the major axes in the translational direction of the repeating pattern. The major axis of the repeating pattern on the second major surface forms an oblique angle with the major axis on the first major surface, where the angle is in the range of 10-90% of the angle of rotational symmetry of the repeating pattern. The structured film is a unitary substrate. The structured film articles are prepared by providing a flowable material composition having two major surfaces and simultaneously contacting the major surfaces with a first microstructuring tool, and a second microstructuring tool. Each microstructuring tool has a structured surface including a pattern of a plurality of depressions.

Composition for producing foamed layer of sheet, sheet containing the same, and production method thereof

A composition for producing a foamed layer of a sheet, comprising: a primary component and an auxiliary component; the primary component is composed of polyvinyl chloride and calcium carbonate, and the auxiliary component comprises a regulator, a stabilizer, a lubricant and a foaming agent; in parts by weight, the polyvinyl chloride is 75 parts, the calcium carbonate is 75 to 80 parts, the regulator is 6 to 8 parts, the stabilizer is 3 to 5 parts, the lubricant is 0.7 to 1.4 parts, and the foaming agent is 0.2 to 0.7 parts. The compositions for producing a foamed layer and solid layers of a sheet in the present application do not contain any glue-like component, and there is no gluing process in the production method, so it is very environmentally friendly and healthy. The foamed layer is formed by foaming polyvinyl chloride and the solid layers made of non-foamed polyvinyl chloride are co-extruded on two sides of the foamed layer to form a core layer of the sheet, so that the sheet produced by the compositions and the method has excellent compression resistance, warping and shrinkage performance, and is waterproof, moisture-proof and mothproof.

Printer-compatible, pre-embossed films

Decorative films, useful for making a wide range of decorative laminates, that have a relatively deep texture on one major face and a relatively smoother, print receptive surface on the other major face. Notwithstanding the deep texture, the films have superb tracking characteristics and are compatible with a wide variety of automated printing operations. This allows automated printing equipment to print information directly onto the films.

Separating membrane with improved adhesion and process for obtaining it

Separating membrane (10) of plastic material, made up of a bossed and waterproof sheet (100) which is coupled with a permeable base layer (101); the bosses (102) are of the cylindrical type with a double diameter (D1, D2) and have such a shape and arrangement as to feature improved adhesion on both faces (110-111). The invention increases the gripping of the adhesive in order to obtain greater tear strength, on the upper face, and at the same time increases the area of contact with the base layer for a greater resistance to delamination on the lower face. In particular, inside each chamber (103) there is an internal crown (104), which divides it like a necking (D2) into two superimposed compartments (105-6) having the same diameter (D1), wherein the first compartment has a depth (H1) amounting to at least of the total (H). The invention also relates to the production process for obtaining said membrane (10).

The solid region cap layer contains the first polymer and less than about 5% by volume of the first staple fibers. The porous regions contain a porous region nonwoven layer and a porous region polymer-fiber infused layer. The porous region nonwoven layer contains a plurality of the first staple fibers and less than about 5% by volume of a first polymer. The porous region polymer-fiber infused layer contains a plurality of pores.

SILICONE RESIN REFLECTIVE SUBSTRATE, MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR SAME, AND BASE MATERIAL COMPOSITION USED IN REFLECTIVE SUBSTRATE

A versatile silicone resin reflective substrate which exhibits high reflectance of high luminance light from an LED light source over a wide wavelength from short wavelengths of approximately 340-500 nm, which include wavelengths from 380-400 nm near lower limit of the visible region, to longer wavelength in the infra-red region. The silicone resin reflective substrate has a reflective layer which contains a white inorganic filler powder dispersed in a three-dimensional cross linked silicone resin, the inorganic filler powder having a high reflective index than the silicone resin. The reflective layer is formed on a support body as a film, a solid, or a sheet. The silicone resin reflective substrate can be easily formed as a wiring substrate, a packaging case or the like, and can be manufactured at low cost and a high rate of production.

Method for making hydroformed expanded spun bonded nonwoven web

A method for hydroforming a spun bonded nonwoven web includes applying a plurality of pressurized liquid jets onto an original unexpanded spun bonded nonwoven web having an original loft while the web passes over a forming structure. A plurality of spun bonded fibers in the original unexpanded spun bonded nonwoven web are reoriented from a closely packed substantially horizontal orientation to a more loosely packed orientation with greater vertical spacing between the fibers to produce a hydroformed expanded spun bonded nonwoven web having a loft of at least about 1.3 times greater than the original loft of the original unexpanded spun bonded nonwoven web, and an air permeability of at least about 1.2 times greater than an original air permeability of the original unexpanded spun bonded nonwoven web. The hydroformed expanded spun bonded nonwoven web has a surface with a plurality of protuberances in a pattern corresponding to the pattern of apertures in the forming structure.
