A system and method for reducing draw resonance of a plastic material in molten state, so-called melt, leaving an extrusion group of a plant for the production of plastic film, includes at least one thermostatically-controlled cylinder, having an embracement angle of the melt on the cylinder that is adjustable on the basis of the process rate, i.e., the linear movement speed of the plastic film, and/or on the basis of the temperature measured in the proximity of or in correspondence with the clamping area of the melt in a thermoforming, calibration and cooling group included in the plant and positioned downstream of the system.

Extrusion with preferential bend axis

A catheter is made by coextruding first and second molten polymers, wherein the second molten polymer forms a flexible inner core and the first molten polymer forms exactly two bands on opposite sides of the inner core. The inner core is braided, and a third molten polymer extruded onto the braid to form a flexible jacket that encloses the braid, the bands and the inner core. The bands are more rigid than the inner core, and they provide preferential in-plane bending.

Microlayer membranes, improved battery separators, and related methods

The preferred multilayer microporous membrane comprises microlayers and one or more lamination barriers. Also disclosed is a battery separator or battery comprising one or more of the multilayer microporous films or membranes. The inventive battery and battery separator is preferably safer and more robust than batteries and battery separators using prior monolayer and tri-layer microporous membranes. Also, described herein is a method for making the multilayer microporous separators, membranes or films described herein.

Impact-resistant lightweight polymeric laminates

Bonded polymeric film laminates comprising core polymer film layers individually coated on at least one side with a heat fusible polymer layer and fusion bonded together by the application of heat and pressure at a temperature at which each heat fusible polymer coating bonds together adjacent core polymer film layers, where the melting point or softening temperature of the heat fusible polymer is at least 3° C. below that of the core layer polymer, and the lamination temperature is at or above the melting point or softening temperature of the heat fusible coating polymer, where the heat fusible polymer coating layers are thinner than the core polymer film layers, where the coated core polymer film layers are uniaxially stretched by 2× to 40×, and the stretched coated core polymer film layers are cross-plied. Methods for forming the laminates, coated films from which the laminates are formed, and articles formed from the laminates are also disclosed.

Husk Plastic Composite, Production Method and Application Thereof
20230033191 · 2023-02-02 ·

A husk plastic composite comprises a composition including: PVC 10˜20 wt %; vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate (VC/VAC) copolymer 10˜30 wt %; styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer (SAN) 1˜5 wt %; chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) 1˜5 wt %; rice husk powder 10˜40 wt %; inorganic filler 10˜40 wt %; internal lubricant 0.1˜1 wt %; external lubricant 0.1˜1 wt %, and heat stabilizer 1˜5 wt %. The VC/VAC copolymer in the husk plastic composition provided by the present invention can allow the composition to be processed by relatively lower processing temperature to save energy consumption. It will also prevent the husk powder from being burnt or decomposed due to high temperature during the heating process to allow this natural material being added in a large amount in the composition. The present invention can reduce the amount of PVC through a large amount of filling additives but still maintain in good product mechanical properties. The particle size of the husk is preferably in the range of 0.10˜0.60 mm for better hardness, stiffness and wood-like texture in the final product.

Method for coating gum of self-adhesive mat with spaced-apart gum
11485125 · 2022-11-01 · ·

The present invention discloses a method for coating gum of self-adhesive mat with spaced-apart gum, using a mat body, gum layers being spaced apart on a bottom surface of the mat body, including the following steps of: weighing raw materials of components in a determined proportion, stirring uniformly by a stirrer that supplies hot air for dehumidification, conveying the mixture to an extruder through a screw, thermally melting by the screw extruder, extruding from rectangular discharge ports formed at intervals on the extruder and vertically falling onto an upper roller (the roller surface is a smooth surface) of a rolling and combining device, passing a mat body from an unwinding device to a lower roller of the rolling and combining device, rolling the mat body by adjusting a gap between the upper and lower rollers by a lead screw, forming self-adhesive gum layers, which are spaced apart from each other, on the back of the mat body. The gum using hydrogenated styrene-butadiene block copolymer (SEBS) as a main raw material coating on the bottom surface. According to the present invention, the gum is able to adequately adsorb the mat onto the floor due to its good flexibility, and allow the mat to move without affecting the adsorption effect due to its good detachability. Meanwhile, the mat is non-toxic and environmentally friendly, can be washed repeatedly without affecting its self-adhesive adsorption effect and can be reused. It is of great significance for the development of mats.
