11511061 · 2022-11-29 · ·

Devices and methods for allowing for improved assisted ventilation of a patient. The methods and devices provide a number of benefits over conventional approaches for assisted ventilation. For example, the methods and devices described herein permit blind insertion of a device that can allow ventilation regardless of whether the device is positioned within a trachea or an esophagus. In addition, the methods and device allow for timed delivery of ventilations based on a condition of a thoracic cavity to increase the amount and efficiency of blood flow during a resuscitation procedure.

One embodiment is a medical device with a flexibly deformable external hose. The external hose includes multiple openings, at least one of them arranged in a first end of the external hose. It includes a flexible internal hose, which is arranged on the inside of the external hose. The internal hose, in an expanded state, has an external diameter that is at least equal to the internal diameter of the external hose, closing the openings of the external hose. The external diameter of the internal hose can be transitioned from the expanded state into a radially contracted state, exposing the openings. A connection firmly connects the external hose and the internal hose on the first end of the external hose, and closes them in fluid-tight manner. A connector supplies the fluid into the intervening space between the external and the internal hose.

Dilatable balloon catheter

a dilatable balloon catheter, comprising: a guide wire inserted and disposed in the inside of the catheter, an operation portion is fixedly connected to one end of the catheter, a balloon is disposed at the outer side of the catheter remote from the operation portion, the lumen of the catheter and the inner cavity of the balloon are connected by a communication structure provided on the catheter, the guide wire includes a first guide wire and a second guide wire which are separated from each other, the rear end of the first guide wire is connected to insertion-extraction structure in the rear end of the operation portion, the second guide wire is fixed to the inside of the catheter by a fixing process. The guide wire of the dilatable balloon catheter and the liquid injection lumen can share the same lumen, greatly reducing the diameter of the catheter in the present invention, so that the dilatable balloon catheter can be inserted into a narrow duct or lumen that needs to be expanded in human body through an device channel of an endoscope, and realize visualization operation.

The present invention is directed to a dual lumen cannula configured to be inserted into a patient's body as simple as a single lumen cannula. The dual lumen cannula includes at least one inner lumen configured to be inserted into an outer lumen and connected via an inner lumen connection unit and an outer unit connection unit. Embodiments of the presenting invention further allow for the connection of at least one flow router to the other end of the inner lumen connection unit. When installed, the outer lumen is first inserted into the patient's body, followed by the insertion of the inner lumen into the outer lumen of the already cannulated patient until the inner lumen connector unit is in coupling contact with the outer lumen connector unit. The invention is also directed to a transformable dual lumen cannula into a single lumen cannula and vice versa that allow patients that are first being treated by low flow approach to be treated by high flow approach.

METHODS OF MAKING CATHETERS HAVING VISIBLE MARKERS FOR IDENTIFYING SOAKER REGIONS CONTAINING FLUID OPENINGS

A method of making a catheter includes obtaining a hollow tube having a proximal section, a distal section, an elongated conduit, and one or more fluid openings formed in the distal section of the hollow tube that are in fluid communication with the elongated lumen. The method includes inserting a mandrel within the elongated lumen, positioning a first visible marker over an outer surface of the hollow tube at a junction of the proximal and distal sections of the hollow tube, and placing a sacrificial material over the first visible marker to completely cover the first visible marker. Heat is applied for shrinking the sacrificial material, which, in turn, compresses the first visible marker against the outer surface of the hollow tube, and for least partially melting the first visible marker for fusing the first visible marker to the outer surface of the hollow tube.

CATHETER DELIVERY DEVICE AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS

A catheter system may include a catheter assembly and a catheter delivery device. The catheter assembly may include a catheter adapter, which may include a catheter adapter distal end, a catheter adapter proximal end, and a catheter adapter lumen extending through the catheter adapter distal end and the catheter adapter proximal end. The catheter assembly may include a primary catheter extending from the catheter adapter distal end. The catheter delivery device may include a housing, which may include a housing distal end coupled to the catheter assembly, a housing proximal end, and a housing lumen extending through the housing distal end and the housing proximal end. A secondary catheter may be disposed within the housing. The secondary catheter may be configured to move distally through the catheter assembly in response to a fluid pressure provided by a fluid delivery device coupled to the housing proximal end.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MEASURING THE PROSTATIC URETHRAL LENGTH

Devices and methods are disclosed for determining prostatic urethral length. A balloon catheter subassembly is in fluid communication between an inner cavity of a syringe body and an expandable balloon is positioned at a distal end of the balloon catheter subassembly. An adapter secured to the syringe body having a syringe plunger includes a lock that engages the syringe plunger at a predefined position with respect to the syringe body corresponding to a desired inflation state of the expandable balloon. Prostatic urethral length can then be determined using markings indicating distance from the expandable balloon.

SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND DEVICES FOR REGISTERING AND TRACKING ORGANS DURING INTERVENTIONAL PROCEDURES

Systems, methods, and devices are provided for assisting or performing guided interventional procedures using specialized catheters and inserts. A bend altering device is introduced into a conduit in an organ causing it to take on a tortuous path and to assist in its visualization. A scan is performed of a patient's anatomy to identify targets critical structures and the path of the conduit. A bend altering device containing position indicating elements is placed into the conduit in the same path as before the scan. During a procedure, the pre-procedure scans may be registered to the patient using the location of the position indicating elements in the conduit. This registration may be used in an intervention to guide instruments and templates to obtain diagnostic information or provide therapy to the targets identified in the scans.
