Fluid dispensing catheter
11471630 · 2022-10-18 · ·

A fluid dispensing catheter includes an inner member defining a first passage and an outer member defining a second passage. The inner member is disposed within the second passage. The fluid dispensing catheter also includes a plug having a proximal section positioned within the first passage and a distal section extending distally from the proximal section. The distal section is positioned outside of the first passage and within the second passage.

Catheter Tip Structure and Method of Manufacture

The distal tip structure of a rapidly insertable central catheter (RICC) can be required to perform different functions from that of the remaining, multi-luminal section, of the RICC catheter. As such, the catheter body can be formed of a first material and the distal tip structure can be formed of a second material. Forming the RICC requires joining these two materials while maintaining a smooth abluminal surface. A bifurcated plug including a second material can be placed within a first lumen or second lumen of the catheter body. A mandrel can be placed within a third lumen. The assembly can then be placed within a die to plastically deform the bifurcated plug into a distal tip structure. Advantageously, only a single structure is required to plug the lumen and form the distal tip structure, reducing complexity and associated costs.

BALLOON ANCHORING GUIDE CATHETER EXTENSION

A guide catheter extension, having a push member having a proximal end and a distal end; a tube frame coupled to the distal end of the push member, the tube frame defining a lumen having a diameter sufficient to receive an interventional vascular device therethrough; and an inflatable element coupled to the tube frame, wherein the inflatable element is expandable into the lumen.

Methods, systems, and devices for sealing and flusing a delivery system

A method for sealing and flushing a delivery member includes sealing one or more lumens and flushing air from the one or more lumens. An interventional device delivery system includes a handle assembly and a delivery member. The handle assembly includes a catheter holder with a passageway therethrough. A flush block is associated with the catheter holder and has a flush port and a flush chamber. The delivery member is associated with the handle assembly and includes a plurality of catheters. At least one of the catheters has a proximal end disposed within the passageway in the catheter holder and is in fluid communication with the flush chamber.

Reinforced Balloon Catheter

A balloon catheter is described having a reinforced, co-axial, duel lumen design. In some embodiments, the balloon catheter includes a purging mechanism designed to purge air from the balloon.

Urinary catheter with guide wire
11672945 · 2023-06-13 ·

A urinary catheter is readily removed and replaced with a second urinary catheter without introducing foreign matter or contaminants into the bladder. The first urinary catheter includes an extra lumen that houses a sheath therein to seal an opening or third hole at or near the tip of the catheter so that fluids do not enter the extra lumen. After the sheath seal is broken and the sheath is extracted from the catheter, a guidewire is threaded through the extra lumen and into the patient's bladder. The first urinary catheter is withdrawn from the patient, leaving the guidewire in the patient. A second urinary catheter is inserted into the patient over the guidewire, with the guidewire present in the urine lumen of the second urinary catheter. The guidewire then is extracted from the patient.

Releasable seal for catheter system

The present teachings may generally include a sealing device disposed within a connector (e.g., a patient connector) at an end of catheter tubing, where the sealing device is structurally configured to form a releasable seal for the catheter tubing. That is, when unengaged with a contact portion of another connector or device, the sealing device may be disposed in a first position establishing the seal. Specifically, a channel disposed through a body of the sealing device may be obstructed when in the first position. However, through predetermined engagement with the contact portion of another connector or device, the sealing device may be moved (e.g., rotated) to a second position to establish a fluid pathway through the channel. And, when the predetermined engagement is removed, the sealing device may be structurally configured to automatically move back into the first position to reestablish the seal for the catheter tubing.

BALLOON CATHETER ASSEMBLY FOR INSERTION AND POSITIONING THERAPEUTIC DEVICES WITHIN A VASCULAR SYSTEM

A balloon catheter which allows for faster preparation and effective purging of air. The balloon catheter includes an elongated, flexible catheter having an inner lumen. A balloon member is secured to an outer surface of a distal portion of the catheter such that an inner surface of the balloon member and an outer surface of the catheter define an inflatable balloon interior. The catheter has an inflation lumen connected to an inflation port and extending distally to a distal end in fluid communication with the inflatable balloon interior. One or more purge apertures are provided in a wall of the catheter, each forming a fluid path between the inflatable balloon interior and the inner lumen of the catheter to allow for purging air from the catheter prior to use in a medical procedure.

URINARY CATHETER CAP

A urinary catheter cap includes a main body that includes a urine introduction passage including a connection hole configured to be connected to a urinary catheter and a drain hole for draining urine, a lid portion that has a tubularly formed portion having a first end portion at the drain hole side and a second end portion at an opposite side and opens and closes the drain hole, a partition portion that divides the tubular portion of the lid portion into a plurality of spaces, and a hydrophobic film that is formed such that the hydrophobic film blocks at least two or more of the spaces at the second end portion of the lid portion. The partition portion may include a partitioning plate that is installed between a plurality of locations of an inner circumferential portion of the tubular portion of the lid portion.

A system includes an outer catheter and an inner catheter. The outer catheter has a proximal end and a distal end. The distal end has a discharge nozzle, a tapered interior wall, and an end orifice. The proximal end is configured to receive a fluid. The discharge nozzle is coupled to the proximal end by a first lumen. The discharge nozzle is configured to direct the fluid in a plurality of discrete streams aligned in a radial fashion about an axis of the first lumen. The interior catheter is configured for placement within the first lumen. A first end of the interior catheter includes an occluder and includes a first temperature sensor. The first temperature sensor is configured to pass through the end orifice. The occluder is configured to engage with the tapered interior wall in a fluid-tight seal. The first temperature sensor includes a sense surface and includes a signal node. The signal node is configured to provide a first signal corresponding to a timewise change in temperature at the sense surface.
