Catheter packaging with movement control device
A packaged intermittent urinary catheter having a longitudinally extending package and a catheter movement control device. The catheter movement control device is disposed within the package and has a monolithic planar locking member and a one-way valve. The monolithic locking member has longitudinally spaced upper and lower surfaces, laterally spaced ends, and transversely spaced front and back edges. The valve is disposed through the upper and lower surfaces of the locking member and configured and arranged for receipt of the catheter tube and to advance the tube through the locking member in the first longitudinal direction only.
STORAGE CASE
A storage case accommodates a plurality of medical elongated bodies, which are assembled when used, and includes a plurality of pipe bodies wound to form a ring-like shape that are connected to each other in order to accommodate each of the medical elongated bodies, and a package case that collectively accommodates the plurality of connected pipe bodies. At least two of the pipe bodies are disposed side by side so as to overlap each other in a state in which the center axes of winding are deviated, and the pipe bodies have opening portions arranged so that the medical elongated bodies can be assembled within the storage case using no more than two hands.
ACCOMMODATION TOOL
An accommodation tool is disclosed with which an operator can easily wind and accommodate a flexible medical elongated body. An accommodation tool winds and accommodates the flexible medical elongated body, for example, a guide wire. The accommodation tool has an inner wall, an outer wall, and an interlock wall. The guide wire is wound around the inner wall. The outer wall defines an accommodation space for accommodating the guide wire between the inner wall and the outer wall, and that is disposed further outward in a radial direction from a centroid of the accommodation tool than the inner wall. The interlock wall interlocks one end portion of the inner wall and one end portion of the outer wall with each other.
Catheter with a bendable zone
A catheter insertable into a urethra to drain urine from a bladder includes a tubular portion, a sleeve disposed relative to the tubular portion, with the tubular portion having a bendable zone that is configured to allow the catheter to fold to a compact length. The catheter has a total catheter length measured between an end of a connector that is attachable to a drainage bag and an insertion end of the tubular portion that is insertable into the bladder. The compact length is less than the total catheter length, and the sleeve is operable to support the tubular portion by removing the bend in the bendable zone to thus align the connector axially with the insertion end of the tubular portion.
APPARATUSES FOR CLEANING CATHETER PORTS
Methods and apparatus for cleaning a central venous catheter port are disclosed. An apparatus includes a body, a coupling configured to connect the body to the hub, a cleaning cap coupled to the body, and an actuator disposed within the body for rotating and translating the cap relative to the hub. The cleaning cap includes a cap body defining a cavity and a cleaning member disposed within the cavity, the cleaning member having threads that engage with the threads on the hub.
READY TO USE CATHETER ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF MAKING A READY TO USE CATHETER ASSEMBLY
A ready to use catheter assembly comprises a catheter package with an opening, a catheter with a shaft arranged in the catheter package so a distal end of the catheter lies in the region of the opening, and a protective sleeve which partly covers the catheter shaft, a first end of the protective sleeve fixed to the distal end of the catheter. A method for producing a ready to use catheter assembly and a ready to use catheter assembly which further reduces the risk of an accidental contamination of a catheter when pulling it out of the catheter package prior to the insertion into the urethra of a user are provided. The opening has a defined maximum opening length, a second end of the protective sleeve is releasably connected which the catheter package near the maximum opening length of the opening and the protective sleeve is in a retracted state.
TUBE FIXATION DEVICE
A tube fixation device (1) for maintaining a tube (2) inserted into a mammalian body in a releasably fixated position, said tube fixation device (1) comprising: a tube receiving element (3) configured to receive said tube (2); a fastening element (4) arranged in connection to said tube receiving element (3) and wherein said fastening element (4) is configured to releasably fixate said tube (2) when said tube (2) is arranged in said tube receiving element (3); and a supportive element (5) attached to said tube receiving element (3) and configured to be positioned on a surface area of said mammalian body, characterized in that the supportive element (5) comprises a layered structure (16), wherein said layered structure comprises at least a ductile layer (20) comprising a ductile material, wherein the ductile layer is configured to be shapeable by the practitioner to conform to a three-dimensional shape of said surface area on said mammalian body.
UTILIZATION OF PACKAGING PAPER AS STABILIZATION DEVICE
A medical device packaging assembly includes a cover (10), a medical packaging paper (20), a medical device (50), and an adhesive dressing (30). The cover has a pocket (14) and a perimeter (12) extending from the perimeter of the pocket. The medical packaging paper forms a hermetically tight seal between the medical packaging paper and the perimeter of the cover around the pocket. The medical device is contained in the hermetically sealed pocket along with the adhesive dressing. The adhesive dressing is removably adhered to the medical packaging paper.
CAPS FOR NEEDLES AND CATHETERS
Needle assemblies 500 are disclosed having a multi-purpose protective cap 5. The needle assemblies 500 can embody catheter assembly 120 having a catheter hub 75 and a catheter tube 76 or a hypodermic needle 15 mounted on a needle hub 35. The multi-purpose cap 5 includes a first section 10 covering the needle 15 and a second section 20 having a base portion 40 for covering a hub, such as needle hub 35 or a catheter hub 75. The first section 10 and the second section 20 are separable from one another along a detachment line 30 and the second section 20 is re-useable as a securement device.
Catheter tray, packaging system, instruction insert, and associated methods
A tray (100) for accommodating a coiled medical device, such as a catheter assembly (700), includes a first compartment (101), a second compartment (102), and a third compartment (103). The catheter assembly (700) and devices associated with a catheterization procedure, such as syringes (701,702) containing sterile water and lubricating jelly and a specimen container (703) can be disposed within the tray. Printed instructions (1001) can be included with the tray (100). One or more layers of wrap material (2200) can be folded about the tray (100) to enclose the tray (100) and other items, such as an additional layer of wrap material (2701), packaged liquid hand sanitizer (2401), and packaged gloves (2402). When a health care services provider (3101) unfolds the wrap material, the same can be used to create a sterile field beneath a patient (3201).
