Catheter insertion aid for use with a urinary intermittent catheter
11617808 · 2023-04-04 · ·

A catheter insertion aid may comprise: an insertion tip located at a proximal end of the insertion aid; a flexible bag; a self-sealing mating mechanism on the proximal end of the insertion aid; and a physical interface that helps a user hold and support the insertion aid against the body when inserting the catheter tube into the male or female urethral tract. The catheter insertion aid may mate with a urinary intermittent catheter with a catheter tube to be inserted into a male or female urethral tract to facilitate drainage of urine from a bladder into a receptacle. The flexible bag may surround the catheter tube with a first collar connection mechanism connecting to the insertion aid and a second collar connection mechanism connecting to a catheter funnel. The self-sealing mating mechanism may mate with the catheter funnel to create a hermetic seal that is substantially air- and water-tight. The catheter insertion aid may further comprise a lubrication reservoir that holds a lubricant to coat a thin layer of the lubricant on the catheter tube facilitating insertion of the catheter tube into the male or female urethral tract.

CATHETERS HAVING LOW VISCOSITY LUBRICANT
20230133471 · 2023-05-04 ·

A closed-system urinary catheter with a low viscosity gel lubrication is disclosed. The system has an uncoated catheter, but a hydrophilic coated catheter could be used. The low viscosity lubricating gel within the sachet uniformly coats the catheter when the sachet is ruptured just prior to use. A low viscosity lubrication gel could alternatively be place in the area inside the sheath and external to the catheter. Therefore, the variability that occurs with a hydrophilic catheter or the areas of a non-lubricated catheter with the higher viscosity gel catheters is avoided.

Urinary Catheters with Improved Shape Recovery and Ease of Use

Catheters including thermoplastic polyurethane polymer tubing with improved shape recovery after storage in a substantially coiled configuration are provided.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION OF NON-FUCOSYLATED ANTI-CD40 ANTIBODY

This invention relates methods of using a non-fucosylated anti-CD40 antibody for treatment of cancer and chronic infectious diseases.

Wrap Systems For Medical Device Kits

Medical device kits for use in placing, maintaining, altering, and/or removing medical devices in, on, and/or from the body of a patient are disclosed. Such medical device kits can include one or more wrap assemblies for use in the placement/maintenance procedure. In accordance with present embodiments, the one or more wrap assemblies of the medical device kit can include various features to assist the clinician performing the particular procedure. In one embodiment, a medical wrap assembly is disclosed, comprising a foldable wrap body that includes a front surface, wherein the front surface is configured to define a sterile field. A plurality of pockets is included on the front surface of the wrap body. The pockets are configured to contain therein a plurality of medical components. The medical components are arranged in the pockets in a predetermined order of use for the medical procedure.

VENTED GUIDEWIRE RETAINER AND RELATED METHODS

A guidewire retention assembly is disclosed. The assembly may include a body member extending between a first end and a second end and defining a retention lumen, a connector defining a connector lumen, a vent, and a continuous outside surface, the vent comprising an opening extending radially from the connector lumen, and the connector releasably coupleable to the first end of the body member and the second end of the body member, such that the connector releasably couples the first end of the body member to the second end of the body member.

Applicator

An applicator of one aspect for applying a sheet member to skin includes a body having a bottom surface facing the skin and a first guide configured to guide the sheet member to a space between the skin and the bottom surface, in which the sheet member is applied to the skin after being folded in the space.

CATHETER PACKAGING HAVING ALIGNMENT FEATURES
20230201522 · 2023-06-29 ·

A packaging assembly for storing a steerable catheter ready for connection with a robotic system, comprises: a packaging enclosure and an alignment member configured to hold the steerable catheter in a predetermined shape. The alignment member is a carrier tube configured to align one end of the steerable catheter for connection with an actuator unit. The package and the alignment member are designed such that the steerable catheter can be connected to the actuator unit without changing the predetermined shape and while the catheter is still in the package. A robotic system is configured to connect to the steerable catheter included in the packaging assembly. The robotic system completes an initialization process to set acceptor parts of the actuator unit to a position corresponding to the predetermined shape in which the catheter is packaged.

Catheter tray, packaging system, instruction insert, and associated methods

A tray (100) for accommodating a coiled medical device, such as a catheter assembly (700), includes a first compartment (101), a second compartment (102), and a third compartment (103). The catheter assembly (700) and devices associated with a catheterization procedure, such as syringes (701,702) containing sterile water and lubricating jelly and a specimen container (703) can be disposed within the tray. Printed instructions (1001) can be included with the tray (100). One or more layers of wrap material (2200) can be folded about the tray (100) to enclose the tray (100) and other items, such as an additional layer of wrap material (2701), packaged liquid hand sanitizer (2401), and packaged gloves (2402). When a health care services provider (3101) unfolds the wrap material, the same can be used to create a sterile field beneath a patient (3201).

CATHETER WETTING DEVICES

A wetting device for wetting a catheter. The wetting device has an enclosure bounding the wetting device and enclosing a chamber, the enclosure having at least two wetting device apertures in a surface of the enclosure though which a catheter tube passes. The wetting device also has a port disposed through the enclosure thereof for loading wetting agent into the chamber.
