Film pasting tool and film pasting method
A film pasting tool is used to paste one surface of a film on a member-to-be-pasted at a predetermined position. The tool comprises a flexible tabular body, a first adhesive part, a front surface thereof being adhesive, provided on one surface of the body, and a second adhesive part, a front surface thereof being adhesive, provided on a part of a region other than a region where the first adhesive part is provided out of one surface of the body. An other surface of the film is pastable on the front surface of the second adhesive part, and when the other surface of the film is pasted on the front surface of the second adhesive part, the front surface of the first adhesive part is exposed in such a manner that the front surface of the first adhesive part is pastable on the member-to-be-pasted.
FILM APPLICA TION DEVICE AND FILM APPLICATION METHOD
A film application device for applying a film to an object, the device including a film supporting unit that disposes a film above the object; a first rod that extends in a first direction that intersects a vertical direction, presses on the film disposed above the object from an upper side, deforms and conforms to a shape of the object, and moves in a second direction that intersects the first direction and the vertical direction; a tensioning part that imparts tension outward in the first 0 direction on at least a first end side in the first direction of the first rod; and a movement part that moves the first rod in the vertical direction.
Systems for securing protective films to surfaces of substrates
Systems and films for protecting surfaces of various substrates, including electronic devices, such as portable electronic devices, include a liner with a strip liner and a main liner. The strip liner, which covers a small strip of adhesive on the back side of a protective film, is configured to be removed before the main liner. With the small strip of adhesive exposed, the protective film may be aligned with a substrate and, if necessary, removed from the substrates and repositioned thereon. Thereafter, the main liner may be removed to enable complete application of the protective film to the substrate. Methods for securing protective films to substrates are also disclosed.
FILM APPLICATOR FOR CYLINDRICAL SENSOR WINDOW
A film-application apparatus includes a body including a first body half, a second body half, and a hinge coupling the body halves; and a squeegee blade movable from a first position relative to the body to a second position relative to the body. The second body half is rotatable about the hinge relative to the first body half to a closed position. When the second body half is in the closed position, the body includes a top ring and a bottom ring both centered on an axis and defining an axial gap therebetween. When the second body half is in the closed position and the body is enclosing a sensor having a cylindrical sensor window, the axial gap exposes the cylindrical sensor window, and moving the squeegee blade from the first position to the second position covers substantially an entire surface area of the cylindrical sensor window.
Double-sided squeegee with interchangeable sides
A squeegee device for applying a film material to a surface includes a selection of squeegee card components formed of a rubber, rubberized plastic or other rubber-like composition; the selection of squeegee card components being provided in varying degrees of hardness (i.e., durometer) and each squeegee card component including a blade portion with a working edge having a specific length and configuration (e.g., straight, curved, V-shaped) and an attachment portion structured for cooperating interlocked attachment with the attachment portion of another select one of the squeegee card components, with no tools or additional fastening elements required, to provide a double-sided squeegee card with interchangeable card components having two different working edges which may be the same or different length, shape and/or hardness and the same or different durometer.
APPLICATOR FOR APPLYING PROTECTIVE COVERINGS TO ELECTRONIC DEVICE DISPLAYS
An applicator is provided for applying protective films to electronic device displays. The applicator includes a base, a screen protector, and a squeegee. The base includes a pocket for receiving an electronic device. The screen protector is affixed to the base so as to overlie an electronic device. The screen protector preferably includes three layers including a protective film, cap sheet, and back liner. The squeegee is provided for removing the back liner and for simultaneously affixing the protective film to an electronic device.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MOBILE DEVICE SURFACE PROTECTION
Systems and methods for applying a protective layer to an outer surface of a mobile device. A system may include a protective layer for an outer surface of a mobile device and an alignment layer coupled to the protective layer. A frame may define a cavity configured to receive the mobile device. The frame may include a surface positioned outside of the cavity and configured to support the alignment layer and configured to be depressed relative to the mobile device to reduce a distance between the protective layer and the outer surface of the mobile device when the mobile device is positioned in the cavity.

Application method for a film
An application method of applying a film F having a main portion 71, an extended portion 72 connected to a first end 71x of the main portion 71, and an extended portion 73 connected to a second end 71y opposing the first end 71x in the main portion 71 to a base material by an application device having an application mechanism, including the steps of: pressing the extended portion 72 using the application mechanism; applying the main portion 71 to the base material by moving the application mechanism that presses the extended portion 72 from the extended portion 72 to the extended portion 73 via the main portion 71; and stopping the application mechanism moved to the extended portion 73 and separating the application mechanism from the extended portion 73.
