A splittable sheath includes a splittable sheath body, a splittable sheath hub, and a valve element. The sheath body comprises a generally flexible tubular structure, a proximal end, and a distal end. The sheath body defines a longitudinal axis and is splittable into two halves along a pre-determined line generally parallel to the longitudinal axis. The sheath hub extends from the proximal end of the sheath body and defines a longitudinal axis generally aligned with the longitudinal axis of the sheath body. The sheath body and sheath hub form an inner cavity along their respective longitudinal axes. The valve element includes a resilient plate and a sealing element. The resilient plate includes a distal portion extending radially inwardly from a side of the inner cavity. The sealing element includes a sealing surface and is supported by the resilient plate such that the sealing element is biased toward a position against a second sealing surface on at least one of the splittable sheath body and hub to substantially seal the inner cavity.

Expandable Sleeve for a Catheter Assembly

The present disclosure is directed to an expandable sleeve for a catheter assembly. The expandable sleeve includes a body configured to fit coaxially around an outer diameter of a catheter of the catheter assembly at a transition location between a hub and the catheter. Further, the body of the sleeve includes a length extending from a first end to a second end. As such, the sleeve is expandable between a compressed position and an expanded position so as to prevent the catheter from collapsing along the length of the sleeve. In addition, when in the expanded position, at least a portion of an interior surface of the sleeve contacts an outer diameter of the catheter.

HEMOSTASIS VALVE DESIGN FOR INTRODUCER SHEATH

A hemostasis valve for use in a medical device. The hemostasis valve may include a generally cylindrical body having a proximal side, a distal side, and a thickness extending therebetween. The proximal side may include a tapered central region having a surface sloped towards a center of the body and the distal side may include a distally extending curved central region.

BALLOON CATHETER SYSTEMS
20180093071 · 2018-04-05 · ·

A balloon catheter and balloon system particularly useful with drug-coated balloons is described. In some embodiments, the balloon catheter system includes various features designed to address problems with drug rubbing off due to contract friction during delivery of the balloonincluding by utilizing a protective sleeve to shield the drug-coated balloon. In some embodiments, the balloon catheter system includes an inner high-pressure balloon and an outer drug-coated balloon to mitigate the time associated with performing vessel dilation.

BASKET CATHETER CONFORMING TO ORGAN USING STRAIN-RELIEF ELEMENTS

A catheter includes a shaft for insertion into an organ of a patient, and an extendable distal-end assembly. The distal-end assembly is coupled to the shaft and includes multiple splines. At least one spline includes one or more electrodes and at least one strain-relief element that is configured, when the distal-end assembly is extended in the organ, to allow the spline to conform to a surface of the organ so as to make contact between the electrodes and the surface.

Intermittent catheter assembly and kit

An intermittent catheter assembly and kit comprising an elongated introducer element formed of a flexible material adapted for insertion into a urethra during a catheterization procedure. The introducer element has at least one slit extending longitudinally along a substantial portion of its length. The catheter assembly also includes an applicator having an opening, and a sheath having a first end that is secured to the applicator about the opening. The sheath also has a second end defining a discharge opening which is inverted relative to the first end of the sheath to define inner and outer sleeve portions. The inner sleeve portion defines a flow path for urine through the discharge opening. The applicator receives the introducer element through the opening and extends the outer sleeve portion over an outer surface of the elongated introducer element to separate it from the urethra.

CATHETER HUBS

A hub assembly for connection to a medical device having a built in strain relief. The hub assembly may comprise a hub body having a proximal end and a distal end. A lumen may extend from the proximal end to the distal end of the hub body. The distal end of the hub body may have a rounded surface. The rounded surface may have a radius of curvature of greater than 1 millimeter.

CATHETER HUBS

A hub assembly for connection to a medical device. The hub assembly may comprises an outer component having a proximal end, a distal end, and a cavity extending from the proximal end to the distal end. The hub assembly may further include an insert having a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen extending from the proximal end to the distal end positioned at least in part within the cavity of the outer component. The insert may have a lumen extending from the proximal end to the distal end thereof. The outer component may be formed from a first material and the insert may be formed from a second material different from the first material.

INTRODUCER SHEATH

An introducer sheath is disclosed capable of reducing a physical burden on a patient by shortening a time necessary for hemostasis at an introduction part after removing the introducer sheath percutaneously introduced into a body lumen. The introducer sheath includes a catheter main body, which is percutaneously introduced into a body lumen, a hub, which is connected to a proximal side of the catheter main body, and a tube member which includes a thrombus inducing material M. The tube member is disposed at a proximal side of an outer surface of the catheter main body.
