In some examples, a catheter includes an elongated body including a proximal portion and a distal portion. The elongated body includes an inner liner, an outer jacket, a structural support member positioned between at least a portion of the inner liner and at least a portion of the outer jacket, and an expandable member coupled to the structural support member at the distal portion of the elongated body. The expandable member may be configured to expand radially outward, e.g., to engage a clot within vasculature of a patient.

Catheter for ultrasound-guided delivery

A catheter including one or more echogenic members facilitate guiding the catheter to a selected locations within a patient using ultrasound imaging. The echogenic members may include expandable members, such as balloons, be positioned near a distal end of the catheter. The echogenic members include an echogenic material, such as a coating or a fluid, that is configured to enhance the diffuse sound scattering of the echogenic member. An expanded echogenic member is detectable using ultrasound imaging.

MEDICAL SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND RELATED METHODS

A medical device for insertion into a body may include a handle assembly including a handle body and a ball joint; a sensor assembly configured to electronically communicate with a magnet; a body extending longitudinally from the handle assembly; an articulation portion coupled to a distal end of the body, wherein the articulation portion includes a magnetic material; and an end effector coupled to a distal end of the articulation portion. The articulation portion may be configured to move upon application of a magnetic field from the magnet.

Vascular Access Device to Reduce Buckling of a Probe

A vascular access device may include a housing, which may include a distal end, a proximal end, and a slot. An advancement element may extend through the slot and may be configured to move linearly along the slot between a retracted position and an advanced position. In response to movement of the advancement element from the retracted position to the advanced position, a probe of the vascular access device may be advanced beyond the distal end. The vascular access device may include one or more features to reduce buckling of the probe and limit displacement of the probe. For example, the vascular access device may include a protrusion fixed within the housing distal to the advancement element. As another example, the vascular access device may include a distally-extending arm and/or a recess configured to receive the distally extending arm.

Vascular Access Device with Non-Contact Guidewire Advancement

A vascular access device may include an advancement element and a housing. The housing may include a lumen extending therethrough, which may be used for blood collection. The vascular access device may include a pair of opposing pinch members configured to pinch the housing. The pair of opposing pinch members may be configured to move along the housing with the advancement element. The vascular access device may include a guidewire, which may include a wedge. In response to moving the advancement element distally along the housing, the pair of opposing pinch members may move the wedge distally and the guidewire may be advanced distally. The proximal end of the guidewire may include a looped portion, and in response to moving the advancement element distally along the housing, the pair of opposing pinch members may be aligned with an opening formed by the looped portion and advance the guidewire distally.

Balloon dilation catheter for use in sinus passageways

A balloon dilation catheter includes a substantially rigid inner guide member and a movable shaft coupled to a balloon that is slidably mounted on the substantially rigid inner guide member. To treat a sinus cavity of a subject using the balloon dilation the substantially rigid inner guide member is advanced into a drainage pathway of the sinus (e.g., frontal recess) of the subject via a nasal passageway. The shaft and balloon are advanced in a distal direction over the substantially rigid inner guide member to place the balloon in the drainage pathway. The balloon is inflated to expand or otherwise remodel the drainage pathway.

Removable catheter cap and applications thereof

Removable catheter cap, and applications thereof, for delivering medical tubes in bodily passages. Removable catheter cap covers flexible medical tube (e.g., catheter) distal tip during delivery in a body lumen. Catheter cap includes: cap body removably connectable to, for capping, catheter distal tip, and transformable into a predefined constituent part freely passable through catheter lumen; and cap releasing member extending through catheter proximal end when catheter cap is connected to the catheter, and manipulatable for transforming cap body into constituent part or/and for withdrawing constituent part from catheter distal tip through catheter lumen. Exemplary applications are: provision of a catheter assembly including a catheter and the removable catheter cap connected thereto; a medical kit including one or more catheters and one or more correspondingly configured removable catheter caps; and a method for delivering a catheter in a blood vessel of a subject, for example, via an over-the-wire technique.

Aspects herein relate to systems and methods for delivery of biologic agents to the central nervous system. In various embodiments, a method of administering a therapeutic agent to the central nervous system (CNS) is included. The method can include injecting a therapeutic agent into a first cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) region of the subject. The method can further include establishing fluid communication between a fluid reservoir and a second cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) region of a subject, the fluid having a hydraulic pressure at or above an intracranial pressure. The method can further include infusing a hyperosmotic fluid systemically. Other embodiments, including kits and systems are also included herein.

In some examples, a catheter may include an elongate body and a push assembly. The elongate body may include an inner liner defining an entry port into a lumen defined by the elongate body, and an outer jacket. The push assembly may an anchor member positioned at a distal end of an elongate member. Distal to a proximal end of the elongate body, a first portion of the push assembly, comprising the anchor member, may be positioned between a portion of the inner liner and a portion of the outer jacket. The anchor member may extend only partially around an outer perimeter of the inner liner when the catheter is assembled. Proximal to the proximal end of the elongate body, a second portion of the push assembly, proximal to the first portion, may be positioned outside of the outer jacket and the inner liner.
