Adhesive anchor

A method, process and machine to anchor objects to a surface using an encapsulated compound such as adhesive, expanding glue, hardening agent or other reactive and/or bonding substance intended for single use in a single anchor installation.

Pipe, pipe connection and pipeline system

A pipeline system is enclosed including unlined or plastic lined pipes. A mechanical metal to metal connection is employed that can provide a fluid tight seal. A pipe coupling may be employed to span the connection. Plastic lined pipes can have their plastic liners connected to form a fluid tight bladder. Electro fusion may be employed.

Induction Weldable Pipe Connectors (IWPCs) (400) for electromagnetic induction welding with at least one plastic pipe (30). IWPCs (400) include a tubular induction weldable mounting (401) having an opposite pair of induction weldable sockets (404A, 404B), a tubular cover (406) externally mounted on the induction weldable mounting (401), and a tubular pipe tang (407) internally disposed in one induction weldable socket (404A, 404B) for destining an induction weldable socket (404A, 404B) as an induction weldable pipe socket (408A, 408B) for forced sliding insertion of a pipe end (31) thereinto. The cover (406) includes an opposite pair of thermally insulated induction weldable socket mouth rims (426A, 426B) for entrapping melted solder lining (412) inside the induction weldable mounting (401) during an electromagnetic induction welding operation, thereby ensuring improved welding.

Adhesive member, adhesion method, and method for manufacturing electronic device casing

An adhesive member includes: a first pin portion to be inserted into a first hole formed in a first adherend member; a second pin portion which is to be inserted into a second hole formed in a second adherend member to be adhered to the first adherend member, and is formed coaxially with the first pin portion; and a flange portion which is formed using an adhesive, and is mounted to a side surface of the first pin portion or a side surface of the second pin portion in a flange shape.

Joining state detection film, joining state detection device, and joining state detection method

An object is to provide a joining state detection film, a joining state detection device, and a joining state detection method, capable of detecting a joining state of a joining portion of two members from the outside. [Solution]A film containing a mechanoluminescent substance is formed on a surface, on a side opposite to a joining surface, of at least one member of two members that are joined at joining parts each having the joining surface, and physical stimulation is applied thereto.

CAP AND INDUCTION SEAL DESIGNED TO BE OPENED BY PIERCING IN A DIAGNOSTIC ANALYZER

Embodiments are directed to a removable cap with a top hole and a seal with a heat induction closure for sealing an opening of a container. Advantageously, the cap and the seal do not need to be removed for a probe to access contents of the container, when used in a diagnostic analyzer, thereby eliminating operator steps of cap removal and seal peeling/perforation. Automated opening of the cap and seal combination is provided by puncturing the seal. The seal retains its opened shape required for unobstructed, non-contact probe access to contents of the container. The seal is comprised of three layers: a first polymer sealing layer capable of being heat-sealed to a container; an aluminum foil layer on top of the first polymer sealing layer, configured to heat seal the first layer by inductive heating; and a second polymer layer on top of the aluminum foil layer for protection.

Controlled translation method of affixing a termination to a tensile member
10434724 · 2019-10-08 ·

A method for creating a termination by attaching some kind of fitting to the end of a tensile member such as a cable. The end fitting is provided with an internal cavity. The cavity has a proximal portion that is adjacent the area where the tensile member exits the fitting and a distal portion on its opposite end. A length of the tensile member's filaments is placed within this expanding cavity and infused with liquid potting compound. The method exploits the characteristic of a liquid potting compound as it transitions to a solid. The potting compound in one portion of the cavity is typically transitioned to a solid at a more rapid rate than other portions. Once the potting compound in one portion of the cavity has transitioned sufficiently to hold the filaments at the desired level, tension is placed on the tensile member and a small linear displacement may be imposed on the tensile member. This linear displacement tends to pull the filaments residing in the potting compound into better alignment and improve load sharing.

METHOD OF JOINING OF POLYMERIC COMPOSITES

A method of joining first and second layers of polymeric composite material includes disposing a portion of a molded insert having a bottom end into a top surface of a first layer of material and then applying a layer of adhesive between the top surface of the first layer and a bottom surface of a second layer of material to create a bond-line thickness. Next, a top surface of the second layer is pierced with a headless end of a fastener and interlocked into the molded insert. A layer of protective coating is then applied to the top surface of the second layer of material to cover the interlocked fastener.

Fibre reinforced polymer tube

The present disclosure relates to a fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) tube, the tube comprising a plurality of concentric layers of an FRP material forming a shell of the tube. At least one blind threaded longitudinal bolt hole is provided from a transverse end surface of the shell. The bolt hole extends in at least three of the plurality of layers, a middle layer encompassing a plane passing through a center of the bolt hole, an inner layer encompassing a plane of an innermost extent of the bolt hole, and an outer layer encompassing a plane of an outermost extent of the bolt hole. The fibre filament of each of the inner and outer layers has been wound at a first angle to the longitudinal axis and the fibre filament of the middle layer has been wound at a second angle to the longitudinal axis.
