DRUG DELIVERY METHODS AND SYSTEMS
A two-part bioactive agent delivery system includes a disposable part, a reusable part, and a solvent removal element. The disposable part includes an agent reservoir, a transdermal patch communicating with the agent reservoir and adapted to transdermally deliver the bioactive agent to a user. The transdermal patch has a bottom surface adapted to contact skin of the user, a top surface opposite the bottom surface, and a gas permeable membrane disposed over the top surface of the transdermal patch. The reusable part includes a power source and control electronics that are adapted to deliver bioactive agent dissolved in a solvent from the agent reservoir to the transdermal patch. The solvent removal element includes a gap disposed between the disposable part and the reusable part to create a flow path for gaseous solvent to flow from the gas permeable membrane to ambient air around the bioactive agent delivery system.
TREATMENT OF VIRAL INFECTIONS AND VIRALLY ASSOCIATED LESIONS WITH SEQUITERPENE LACTONES
The present disclosure relates to the use of the sequiterpene lactones and Helenalin (H. tox) or its derivatives to treat viral infection and virally induced lesions, such as warts or wart-associated skin or mucosal lesion. A topical application, optionally using a skin covering such as gauze, a bandage, or a patch, can substantially reduce and even eliminate persistent, recurrent and/or treatment-resistant warts.
Liquid antimicrobial delivery system (L.A.D.S.) to help improve autoimmune regulation
A Liquid Antimicrobial Delivery System includes a measured amount of anti-microbial fluids, and an anti-bacteria glove having one or more liquid storage patches to store the anti-microbial fluids. A collapsible tube container utilizing a ball and stem applicator delivers a predetermined amount of the anti-microbial fluid. The collapsible tube has a conical dome opening with first and second shut-off valves. Finally, a face mask includes a liquid storage patch to store the anti-microbial fluids.
METHOD FOR REVERSIBLE CHEMICAL MODULATION OF NEURAL ACTIVITY
Methods and related systems for modulating neural activity by repetitively blocking conduction in peripheral neural structures with chemical blocking agents are disclosed. Methods and systems for reversing effects of chemical blocking agents and/or for producing substantially permanent conduction block are also disclosed.
BENEFIT AGENT DELIVERY SYSTEM COMPRISING MICROCELLS HAVING AN ELECTRICALLY ERODING SEALING LAYER
A benefit agent delivery system whereby benefit agents can be delivered on demand and/or a variety of different benefit agents at different concentrations can be delivered from the same system. The benefit agent delivery system includes a microcell layer comprising a plurality of microcells, wherein the microcells are filled with a carrier and a benefit agent. The microcells include an opening, wherein the opening is spanned by a sealing layer comprising a polymer and metallic material. Application of an electric field across the microcell layer and the sealing layer results in the migration of the metallic material from the sealing layer and the creation of a porous sealing layer, allowing the benefit agent to be released from the benefit agent delivery system.
Anesthetic breast pad
An anesthetic breast pad includes a polyester panel having a front surface, a rear surface, a continuous peripheral edge and a central aperture for accommodating a wearer's breast nipple. A sectoral notch extending from the peripheral edge to the central aperture allows the aperture and the panel to expand, contract and contort to comfortably adapt to the wearer. On the rear surface of the panel, along the entire peripheral edge, is an adhesive strip for tenuously securing the pad to the wearer. Within the boundary formed by the continuous adhesive strip is a thin sheet pretreated with a topical anesthetic. Accordingly, prior to surgery, a patient adhesively secures the pad to the breast to conveniently apply the anesthetic to the underlying area.
SKIN CONTACT COPOLYESTERS
This invention pertains to polyester compositions. More particularly, this invention pertains to polyester compositions that have particular utility as component of medical adhesive tapes, topical and transdermal drug delivery patches and cosmetic patches. The polyester is comprised of a diacid selected from the group consisting of a cyclohexane dicarboxylic acid, a dimethylcyclohexane dicarboxylic acid, and combinations thereof and polytetramethylene ether glycol and optionally a branching agent.
SYSTEM FOR TARGETED APPLICATION OF TOPICAL AGENTS TO AN ISOLATED BODY PART
A system includes an applicator mask having an applicator surface having a three-dimensional shape corresponding to the isolated body part; and at least one membrane releasably disposed on the applicator surface and having an outer surface in facing relation with the applicator surface and inner adhesive surface opposite thereof. The membrane includes one or more benefit agents disposed in one or more treatment zones.
Bioelectrode sheet
A bioelectrode sheet (100) is configured to be affixed to the skin of a subject, a drug (104b) being mixed in an adhesive layer (104) provided at a peripheral position of a conductive gel layer (103) so as to avoid the conductive gel layer (103). The drug (104b) admixed with the adhesive layer (104) can thereby be caused to penetrate the body while biological information is acquired by an electrode (102) via the conductive gel layer (103).
Maternal Under Garment
A garment for postnatal women for absorbing postpartum bleeding and providing soothing effects during post-partum recovery. The maternal under garment includes an exterior layer having a waist opening and a pair of leg openings. An interior layer overlaps the exterior layer along a front panel and a rear panel of the garment. An upper perimeter of the front panel includes a V-shape, wherein a nadir of the V-shape is centrally positioned on the front panel to comfortably rest below a stomach area of a woman. The maternal under garment includes an adjustable waist band to retract as the stomach area becomes smaller postpartum. Multiple layers are disposed between the interior and exterior layer, such as an absorbent layer for absorbing postpartum bleeding, a cooling layer for soothing genitals during postpartum recovery, and an antibacterial layer for assisting with pain relief and the healing process after birth.
