Apparatus and method for skin treatment
Apparatuses and methods configured to provide heat and cold to the skin along with a skin treatment to control rate of skin treatment flow to the skin are described. The disclosed apparatuses and methods include beneficially delaying the transition of skin treatments once skin penetration is achieved to improve the effectiveness of topical treatments to the skin. Accordingly, the disclosed apparatuses and methods are configured to enhance the benefits of topical treatments to the skin.
Breast Care Device
A therapeutic device is placed over the breast and improves the quality of breastfeeding experience, aiming to heal and treat specific ailments nursing mothers encounter. The breast care device allows the user to maintain treatment while allowing for mobility during therapy. One aspect of the breast care device is made to contain and distribute therapeutic fluids, which are known to soothe breast pain, nipple cracks, anatomical variations, thrush, bites, milk blister, and other ailments. Another aspect of the breast care device contains an array of light elements for the purpose of light therapy, aiming to soothe the same ailments. The final aspect of the breast care device can contain a variety of electrical components, such as rollers for massage, vibration mechanisms for therapy, or ultrasound for imaging or therapy.
Regulator device for drug patch
Embodiments are disclosed of a method of controlling timing and/or dosage of a transdermal drug patch. For example, a control device operative to move the patch to one or more of a plurality of operational relationships with a skin of a patient, including being fully engaged with the skin, partially engaged with the skin, and disengaged with the skin. The device may include a roller that peels a patch on and off the skin. Optionally a convention patch is used. In some embodiments a patch and/or an adaptor has a mobile zone and an immobile zone. In some embodiments, an active surface of the patch fully contacts the skin in an engaged state. For example the patch may be attached to the device on a passive portion thereof.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR REMOTE OPTICAL MONITORING OF INTRAOCULAR PRESSURE
A wearable eyewear device, methods of use and systems are described that allow a person wearing the eyewear device to accurately measure the intraocular pressure of their eye, and dispense a medication to the eye when needed.
Manifold With Biological Actives For Negative-Pressure Therapy
A system for use in treating a tissue site with negative pressure, which may comprise a dressing or tissue interface and a plurality of standoffs for storing and releasing a biocompatible polymer to the tissue site. The standoff may be cells or closed-end cells. In some examples, the biocompatible polymer may comprise collagen, oxidized regenerated cellulose, or a combination thereof. Method for using and manufacturing the dressing or tissue interface may also be disclosed.
SURFACE ENERGY ENHANCING FLUID AND APPLICATIONS ON LIVING TISSUES
Devices and methods can be used to apply an adhesion promoter, for example, ozone, over the surface of the biological tissues, before and/or concurrently with the application of the cosmetics to improve the durability and/or appearance of the cosmetics on the biological tissues. The devices can include a recirculation system and/or a filter system to reduce the likelihood of the chemical being released into the atmosphere and/or to increase oxidation of the chemical generated by the device after use of the device.
Apparatus for the moisture, medicated, and thermal treatment of physical conditions
An assembly for the thermal treatment and moisture treatment of physical conditions, the assembly including, a first thermal pack having a body, the body having a first face and a second face, the first face having a first protrusion. The assembly further includes a sleeve operatively arranged to receive the first thermal pack, the sleeve having a first surface. The assembly also includes a medicament pad arranged to be removably secured to the first surface of the sleeve.
SYSTEM FOR THE PERCUTANEOUS APPLICATION OF A FLUID TO SKIN AREAS
A system for the percutaneous application of a fluid to one or more surface areas of a skin. The system may include at least one of at least one compressor and at least one fan for providing compressed air. The system may also include an applicator fluidically connectable to the at least one of the at least one compressor and the at least one fan. The applicator may have at least one outlet opening through which a fluidic jet is flowable and directable onto the skin. The at least one of the at least one compressor and the at least one fan is attached to the applicator.
DELIVERY SYSTEMS FOR RELEASE OF ACTIVE COMPOUNDS
Drug delivery systems and wearable articles including the drug delivery systems are provided. The drug delivery systems may include a substrate coated with at least one polymer and at least one active compound. The substrate is operable to include yarns, yarn precursors, threads, filaments, fibers, and/or other suitable substrates. Methods for manufacturing drug delivery systems are also provided. The methods are operable to include disposing a solution including a monomer and an active compound on the substrate. The methods are also operable to include exposing the solution and the substrate to UV light to initiate polymerization of the solution.
Active apparel and fabric and coverings
A fabric delivers active ingredients to a surface when the fabric includes a moist-vapor porous combination of fabric materials, and the fabric comprises at least 0.5% by total weight of at least one layer of the fabric of a superabsorbent polymer fiber. The superabsorbent polymer fiber contains an absorbed aqueous reservoir of an aqueous solution carrying the active ingredients. The superabsorbent fiber has a coating on its surface of an aqueous penetrable layer through which a liquid in the absorbed aqueous reservoir can migrate or flow, carrying the active ingredients onto an exposed surface of the superabsorbent polymer fiber, so that the active ingredients on the surface of the superabsorbent polymer can react or interact with an environment in contact with the active ingredients on the superabsorbent polymer fiber surface.
