APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SKIN TREATMENT
Apparatuses and methods configured to provide heat and cold to the skin along with a skin treatment to control rate of skin treatment flow to the skin are described. The disclosed apparatuses and methods include beneficially delaying the transition of skin treatments once skin penetration is achieved to improve the effectiveness of topical treatments to the skin. Accordingly, the disclosed apparatuses and methods are configured to enhance the benefits of topical treatments to the skin.
System for the transdermal delivery of active ingredient
The invention relates to a transdermal therapeutic system (TTS) for delivering pharmaceutical active ingredients. The TTS includes a cover layer and at least one active-ingredient-containing carrier material. At least one retaining element is located between the active-ingredient-containing carrier material and the cover layer, with the retaining element fixing the active-ingredient-containing carrier material onto the cover layer. The invention further relates to a method for fastening an active-ingredient-containing carrier material to a cover layer of a TTS in the presence of hook-and-loop strip segments and the use of a hook-and-loop strip in transdermal or iontophoretic administration of pharmaceutical or therapeutic active ingredients to patients.
Wireless patch system for transdermal, transmucosal and dental electrical drug delivery
Methods and systems for delivering drug particles to a target site are disclosed. An example method for implementing the subject matter described herein includes applying a drug delivery patch to a target site. The drug delivery patch can include a substrate, an electrode integrated with the substrate, and a fluid in the substrate having drug particles suspended in the fluid. The method further includes transmitting a signal to the drug delivery patch to power the drug delivery patch by inductive coupling. Powering the drug delivery patch causes the electrode in the drug delivery patch to motivate the drug particles towards a target site of the drug delivery patch.
Transdermal permeant application device
The device of the present invention comprises an intervening release liner as a common special feature, and the intervening release liner covers a part of an adhesive surface of a patch. The intervening release liner gets away from the patch, and is fixed to a patch application support (or porator tab). Due to such constitution, under a situation in use where the first part of the adhesive area of the patch adheres to a skin surface, the patch application support is slidable along the skin surface while peeling the intervening release liner from said part of the adhesive area of the patch to adhere to the skin surface.
Systems, devices, and methods for electroporation induced by magnetic fields
A system includes a control device and a magnetic device coupled to the control device. The magnetic device is configured to inductively couple to a treatment target including one or more cells exposed to an agent, and includes one or more magnetic coils. The control device and the magnetic device are collectively configured to generate and apply a transient magnetic field to the treatment target to induce an electric field and porate the one or more cells and to permit the agent to enter the one or more cells.
MEDICINE INJECTING TIP, HAND PIECE, AND SKIN TREATING DEVICE
Provided are a medicine injecting tip, which injects a medicine into a hole in a skin formed by a needle while invading the needle to a preset depth of a deep portion of the skin, a hand piece equipped with the medicine injecting tip, and a skin treatment device using the medicine injecting tip. The medicine injecting tip includes a cylinder, a plunger that reciprocates downward and upward, and has a first space and a second space formed inside the cylinder, and a needle disposed in the plunger and disposed in the second space of the cylinder. The needle is inserted into a skin and a negative pressure state is formed in the second space when the plunger moves downward, and the needle is discharged from the skin and a positive pressure state is formed in the second space, when the plunger moves upward.
Using Alternating Electric Fields to Increase Permeability of the Blood Brain Barrier
Certain substances (e.g., large molecules) that ordinarily cannot traverse the blood brain barrier can be introduced into the brain by applying an alternating electric field to the brain for a period of time, wherein the frequency of the alternating electric field is selected so that application of the alternating electric field increases permeability of the blood brain barrier. In some embodiments, the frequency of the alternating electric field is less than 190 kHz (e.g., 100 kHz). Once the permeability of the blood brain barrier has been increased, the substance is able to cross the blood brain barrier.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR DELIVERING DRUGS THROUGH SKIN OF A BODY
A transdermal permeant delivery system for delivery of at least one permeant into a tissue membrane of a subject comprises a filament array having a plurality of filaments that are disposed in a poration area and configured to deliver thermal energy to the tissue membrane to form a plurality of micropores; a applicator electrically connected to the filament array and configured to supply electrical energy to the filaments in order to create the plurality of micropores in the micropore area; and a patch configured for application on the micropore area and for releaseably containing at least one permeant. Method of treatment comprise using the transdermal permeant delivery system to administered a permeant in the form of a drug to a subject in need thereof.
Apparatus and method for treatment of wounds and skin medical conditions at a predetermined skin area
A system for treatment of wounds consists of a treatment housing, a fluid delivery mechanism for supplying debridement fluids to the wound treatment area, an evacuation mechanism for evacuation of debris from the treatment chamber. A handheld device is connected to the treatment housing, wherein its interior accommodates a laser source, a scanning device, an image recording device and at least one sensor/detector, a control unit having a microprocessor for controlling operation of the system. The sensor detects concentration of various substances in the wound, and the microprocessor analyzes data obtained by the sensor and generates signals to adjust parameters of the laser, the liquid dispensing nozzles and the suction outlet to optimize removal of necrotic tissue so as to ultimately to promote wound healing.
DEVICE FOR AUTOMATICALLY OPERATING STAMP-TYPE FLUID INJECTOR HAVING FINE NEEDLES FOR HAIR LOSS CARE AND TREATMENT
Proposed is a device for automatically operating a stamp-type fluid injector having fine needles for hair loss care and treatment. A hole is formed at the center of a cover coupled to the lower portion of an outer case such that an outer cap is moved up and down in the hole by a motor. An inner cap elastically operated by a spring is disposed under the outer cap, a flexible cap is disposed in the inner cap, and a fluid injector is simply inserted into and separated out of the flexible cap through the hole of the cover. Accordingly, it is possible to uniformly and continuously tap the scalp by automatically moving up and down a fluid injector by operating the motor. Further, a fluid injector can be more conveniently used, as compared with when it is manually used.
